What a super cool spot! I went as a part of First Fridays and was blown away by the cool contemporary art. A lot of the pieces really spoke to me and they were very unique. I love that the collections change in and out and I cant wait to go back!

VAE is quite the unique place to visit in Downtown Raleigh if you want to check out any kind of art installations. They have different artists installations and works put out every month for an entire month and they usually are amazing. VAE also plays host venue to Tongue And Groove Open mic on second Sundays of every month which is mostly a poetry open mic but youre welcome to do anything else except comedy and sermons.

Best thing: New Hours are extended until 6 pm now!The gallery is a place that allows their audience to experience the creativity within the pieces. They have a fun and lovely staff that are always willing to answer any questions. First Fridays is always fun because have new pieces showing and a lovely selection of wines and cheeses to go around!

This art gallery and gathering space is a downtown Raleigh favorite. VAE curates their shows with the community in mind and makes everyone welcome. Dont forget to stop in at the gift shop featuring work and merchandise by local emerging artists.

Gallery features three rooms. During Raleighs First Friday they have music (usually a deejay) and stay open late. The art tends towards surprising often diverse styles, not overly conceptual in nature. Oddest pieces are hidden in the back room.
