Cheap, full hook ups, decent wifi, quiet. Not much to not like. Sites were fairly level. A few were out of order, but not too many.
This is a great park when staying in Raleigh for full hookups and large rig friendly. We have a 42’ 5th wheel and pull with a long bed F350 Dually. Spaces will accommodate an extra vehicle as well if you have and the lanes between sites are double wide so plenty of room to park/maneuver or get around if someone is in the road or passing. The location is perfect to hop on the interstate in any direction you need to go. Super convenient in that regard.$30 FHU sites with 24 hr security. They also have a dump station for $10. All sites are back in with a gravel substrate but most of the sites the grass has grown through and they have bumpers on the ground so you don’t back through beyond your site. Power and water is to the mid/back portion of the site so well placed. (Some places put them too far forward or too far back).Sites are all very good size and even the smallest which are very few sites should still accommodate most rigs. No trees to worry about when pulling through the campground but still a few decent trees scattered in the backs of sites to offer some shade. It does fill up if there is any event like equestrian shows or livestock shows etc. and they close it to public during the fair. Last year we were also able to park in the area near youth center drive along the road by the Hunt Building. We liked it there most because less people, easier/quicker to get in and out but it wasn’t open to public our last time here this year.My biggest complaint would be the driveway into the campground area off youth center dr. It needs some work. Can be quite washed out and bumpy during rains. And it’s a pain when you are coming and going a lot to make that long and bumpy drive into the campground back and forth many times a day. Would be nice if they could get a better substrate or pave it some day.
Convenient location. Easy to maneuver a big rig. We spent one night. The campground is clean and well maintained. The management team are friendly and helpful
Good hookups, all lots have both 30 and 50 amp on the same post, really friendly and helpful
Great place to come and gather with friends and watch pig shows.
Not bad place the word is out felling up fast on a Thursday afternoon
Great sites, clean, helpful staff! Recommended
Walk in available for campingLots of spaceNo reservationsFull hook up very cheap only $30 max 2 weeksNear Downtown Raleigh NCWill comeback later
Quiet, peaceful, tucked back in a little wooded corner of Raleigh. A bluegrass band put on an impromptu performance for us outside their camper when we visited
Pretty dusty but the shutter driver was pretty nice. If I had to walk it would have been a very long walk to NC State and the allotted parking area.
Good place for overnight or short stay. Better than a parking lot but less than a campground
Visit regularly always clean basic needs close to great shopping and restaurants nearby.
Special. Come in, pick a spot, hook up and be happy. $30.00 a night/day. Someone will be around to register and collect. Just fine.
Nice campground and great price. Full hookups but there are no bathroom facilities, so you need to be self contained. Lots of places to eat nearby. We camped in a motorhome. Camped here two years ago and came back because it is conveniently located to where our family lives.
Great place we use this as a staging area to pack to get on the road. Ground had about 20 RV they are busy
A very good time. Park staff were very professional and helpful, even to the point of coming to find us and leading us in to the camp grounds.A little hard to find but well worth the trouble.
Really great facility. Wish we could stay longer than 14 days though.
Full hookups right in town. No picnic tables or fire rings, but convenient. Pretty quiet at night.
Quiet yet close to downtown. The fairgrounds has lots of events going on at the same time. We visited the huge flea market one afternoon. It doesnt have its own bathhouse or restrooms but we didnt need them in our RV. We were in town to run in the Raleigh marathon. We chose to not tow our car and use Uber to get into town although youll have to explain to each driver how to get back to the campground.
This campground is very convenient to everything in Raleigh. There are no frills however, it is just a big field with 100 RV spaces. There is usually no problem getting a space here, except for the month of October, when it is used for the State Fair only, no RVs allowed at that time.
Great state campground, with great personnel, electricians were great, and quick to replace a bad campground 20amp gfi outlet. The campground needs a bathhouse, covered pavilion area like other state campgrounds/parks for meeting with a group, more sites, and paved roads.
Cheaper then anywhere. Very friendly. I will return every year.
Close to everything and good rate, always something going on at the fair ground.
Not a bad campground. Driveway very uneven.
Nice, clean, high quality facility. Reasonably priced, great base camp location. Hidden jewel.
Not a resort- no pool, laundry or playground. But if you need full hookup and security of patrolling guards this one great stopover!
Only one in Raleigh...popular for horse shows and NC State games. No facilities at all.
We enjoy the simplicity of the campground, the cost and the activity available within walking distance. ..
WiFi, sewer, water, electric, direct tv, 45 channels digital tv. Great for doctors and hospital visits.
Good experience. Security is very friendly. Just drive in and park. Wi-Fi signal was strong but cut out a little.
Awesome campground with full hook up.
Nice people!
Very nice campground. Near downtown Raleigh, Fairgrounds, Farmers Market.
Great place to stay!
Fix road
Has full hookups and security. The Price is Right.
Clean and spots are level.
