This is an Awesome museum to visit. Take your family and especially young ones. The historian is wonderful and is passionate about black history. We expected to walk in, through and out. But ended up staying over an hour it was so interesting and educational.

A must tour. The history on this piece of property is mind blowing. So much information, I could’ve spent the whole day here. Wonderful staff. Too much history for just one visit. Will definitely visit again with the grandkids.

A really good community explanation of what it has been like to live in Charlotte County as an African-American both before and after the Civil War. The current special exhibit focuses on the medical treatment of African-Americans, primarily before the Civil War.

Walk into the former home of a prominent civil rights worker that has become a museum. The museum documents the struggle for freedom by African-Americans.
