Best hiking spot in pueblo. Unfortunately its $5 per time you come. I would love to get out everyday but cant afford that. Especially in a pandemic. Not sure what the money goes to either considering everything is kinda run down
Loved stopping here! Came for a group river tubbing outing and ended up eating lunch here and having a blast. You do pay a fee in the parking lot area and I remember needing some cash to pay the fee, but that may have changed by now (I visited in 2018). But definitely a cool stop with lots to look and peaceful views of the river! Very relaxing!
Great place to get in some easy, long-distance trail-riding in on my new Specialized trail bike! I love the patio awnings made by the local business; Pride City Awnings, where I work.
Fantastic place, the guides are incredibly knowledgeable and will answer any and all questions at great lengths. We went as a field trip and had terrible weather, but the rangers made the best of it for us and made the day memory-worthy for my students. It is a beautiful campus, wonderful trails and beautiful sights.
Love it here, fun and great place for photos.
Wish they would bring back the bluegrass festival. We used to love to go
Beautiful well maintenance nature area center and planetarium with river access for kayaking and fishing.
Great trails and beautiful scenery
Gorgeous place. Nice, easy paved walk close to a river. Bike access via path and dogs are allowed on a leash. Please pick up the doodie. Parking is $5 I think and the gates close from 6 Pm - 7Am during the winter.
Beautiful, Scenic area down by the Arkansas River close to Pueblo. Great place to take the family. Well maintained. Great place for bird watching and techniques.
Beautiful!! Great place to rest and walk
We had a beautiful walk today. The fall colors are nearing the ends but it was still really pretty. Lots of people on bikes and walking. Also several fisherman fishing.
Amazing place. Staff was so informative. Absolutely love this place.
Love coming here n bringing my kiddos
Wonderful fun informative magical visit. Went for Raptor Talk and toured Center with all of its magnificent creatures. Amazing what they can do with all volunteers and shoestring budget. Go, enjoy, and support the wonderful education birds of the Raptor Center!
It is great way to get out and enjoy nature and wildlife without going very far from home.
Just a nice setting. And theyve recently redone all the wood decking.
There is a plenty of parking but you do have to pay a fee. Currently they dont have a restaurant or other indoor facility. Beautiful views and a great dock that extends out over the water for viewing.
The lady doing the tour was very knowledgable about her raptors. We learned a lot and had a fun time doing so. Got pics of the birds of prey up close and personal, as well as discovered neat classes they run for kids. I would LOVE to get to unwrap an owl pellet!!!
Enjoyed a lazy day of fishing. Nice place, with easy walking trails.
Beautiful place for a walk or a picnic. Nice walkway and park atmosphere. Plenty of flowers and trees. Fishing or tubing, any thing to do with water looks inviting.
Beautiful scenery but I was disappointed in the state of the Memorial Gardens. They were overgrown, dead limbs, there was even a dead bird. If youre going to honor these people and allow them to have memorials there then someone needs to take care of them.
Quiet time a place of peace, all people were gracious and respectful a place to converse without the busyness of life around us. A place of our great God created for us to enjoy.
Awesome place to go visit fish, hike, have a picnik watch wildlife
This is a really nice location, and doubles as great parking access to the Arkansas tailwaters for fly fishing. This non-profit is obviously very low budget, as the facilities are long in the tooth. Without a bailout from the City in the fall-2018, I do not think this place would be open any more. For $10/year (old guys rate), my wife and I take a couple trips a year down to the river, get a beverage from the restaurant, and just sit and watch the river flow by (in addition to parking there to fish, OF COURSE).
Beautiful Location, attentive helpful staff met all of our DJ Requirements for power, venue, shelter etc KICH Radio approved
Beautiful place to walk, bike ride or hike along the paved trails beside the river. There are also places to start your tubing adventure when the water isnt so high and fast.
Love the pueblo river trail
Most awesome relaxing place in town to get your ZEN on ....
We have a membership and love it. We also get access to Pueblo Mountain Park. Good for birding or just taking a stroll. Careful with the cyclists passing through. Check their website for all sorts of activities and events.
I wish they would have kept that playground
Its no longer the nature center that I grew up playing at. The reptile center burned down years ago and never replaced it. The log playground is gone. The raptor Center was the best part to take my son but it was deplorable structures that really frustrated me because of the great work they do. Unfortunately they are funded only by donations and all employees are volunteers with probably the exception of one vet/biologist to aid in recovery. It just could be a much nicer looking place for locals and tourists alike. Look what the city has done with the riverwalk. Why cant we fund such a special place that was so great for so many kids for many years. Now theres really not much there but a few picnic tables, a restraunt that is barely ever open, a dock / deck over the river and the nature trail. I hate giving it a low rating but Im very disappointed in what it actually offers nowadays. Perhaps there is a plan to renovate.
We were treated to a very detailed tour by Pat, who shared many interesting stories with us about the raptors. He was super knowledgeable about the birds, and was very passionate about sharing his expertise and love of these amazing creatures with us. This was a great experience for both the kids and adults!
Place has trails, great view of river, enjoy the animals n creatures in area meet nice people. playground in no longer there. Restaurant is closed permanently.
Lots of trails and open spaces. There are quite a few picnic spaces around as well as a Cafe. Good place to wander and relax in some nature next to the river.
Amazing place to hike, relax, picnic, fish, etc. Check out the raptor center that rehabilitates wild birds (raptors) and returns them to the wild when possible.
If you like nature, watching birds, fishing and taking a dip in the lake this is the place to be go. It is also a great place to have a wedding. The bike trails start in the Springs and connect to the ones in Pueblo. Great day for the whole family.
I love what this place does! The staff and volunteers are very helpful and polite. My family enjoys seeing Lurch come out to visit and hear about all the updates the Nature center had to offer our feathered friends.
Went for the raptor talk and to see the amazing birds they rehabilitate. Great learning experience, plus a nice walk along the river.
Amazing place that helps birds of prey rehabilitate. You can see the birds who can no longer survive on their own and are cared for at the center! I loved it so much that I took my students for one of their presentations :)
Wonderful. Don was very knowledgeable and graciously stayed over to teach us about the Raptors away the center
A good place to run naked
Beautiful, nature, trails, peaceful while walking if you need to clear your head, fishing.
This is an amazing place. Gotta see the rescued raptors they have on the way in. On Sundays at 11:30AM they speak about the birds they have there. (Check to see if times change) Please keep the area natural, clean, and be easy on the fish on the river.
Pretty
Nice place to check out the river!& Walk the trail.
A lovely walking place generally trash free and very unindustrialized
I loved this beautiful place very open natural area on the Arkansas River.
We enjoyed a earlier morning bicycle ride.
Great place to spend a Saturday.
Nice area
Amazing area to water tube.. Free life vests provided (if available) kid friendly and parking is only $5. Plus lots of shade
Absolutely love walking here. Clean and beautiful.
I used to come here with my parrents now i take my kids was fun for the kids but they took out the playground idk hopfully they can put another one in there
My husband and I wanted to go for a walk. Not realizing we had to pay 5 bucks just to park. We were there for maybe an hour. Its a beautiful place. We were planning to go there 3-4 days of the week to walk, but Im not going to pay just for a walk.
Beautiful place to take children
Love this place so relaxing and the kids always have fun..
Awesome.
The center is very educational and entertaining. The Cub scouts I took there, really enjoyed the experience.
This place is beautiful, the Arkansas River is refreshing, the walking/bike path is well done. I highly recommend a visit.

This place is amazing!
The staff at the Raptor Rehabilitation Center are so very dedicated to caring for these birds and are extremely knowlegable. It is well worth reparative visits!
Love this place! The food, scenery and staff are all wonderful.
Love it! The nature preschool is such a wonderful idea and we feel lucky to be apart of it.
Peaceful nice for bike rides and super pretty
Though it was sad to see that these amazing birds were hurt and unable to return to the wild, it was a unique and special experience that we all enjoyed. I urge others to adopt a bird by donating.
Wonderful place to take your family... Could be prettier if ppl would take there trash with them a little tlc will go a long way...
Supreme place to visit. enjoy some food sitting on the deck overlooking the Arkansas river. very pleasant
It always a nice place to visit on foot or passing thru on your bike.
Free, educational facility to visit
Good trails and paths
Thanks Ranger Lobo, for a great adventure at the nature center
Got some really good fishing spots
This is a nice place to take you family however its now well kept up with.
We went on 10/14/15 and had a wonderful time. The woman we spoke to for an hour answered all of my childrens questions kindly and was a wonderful listener. Cute place and wonderful people!
The raptor center is amazing and the river is beautiful
Reasonable, tour guide, birds well taken care of. Good cause.
Very neat place to take the kids. Lots to learn, very friendly employees. Breathtaking views. Make sure you trek up to the observatory. and down to the river.
I love this place, and what they do.
It is a peaceful place to bring family and friends. There is a restaurant there where you can find shakes and hamburgers. There is parking there.
