Brought a friend who had never been before and we both really enjoyed our experience. Walked along the inner loop of trails and soaked in the beauty of what Mother Nature has to offer. A great place for visitors and locals alike.

I dropped off my bird here that I freed from a glue trap and they gave her 3 baths in one week. The stress from the baths killed her and I asked the one emailing me if the sanctuary learned their lesson not to give their birds more than 2 baths a week and I never got a reply to that question (and I asked twice just to make sure). This place cares more about keeping their birds as clean as a whistle than keeping them alive. Dont expect the sanctuary to be careful or learn their lessons based on their mistakes.

This place is pretty confusing. I dont know if I went to the right spot. Theres not actually a parking lot where I went I just had to pull off the side of the road and there were a lot of abandoned looking vehicles. It would be best described asvery Portland there was a trail through abandoned cars and garbage that led to a really cool old bus that was being reclaimed by the Earth that housed a chicken coop. Its an interesting little Adventure if youre looking for something odd to do on a day off. Its nicely located inside of dense Forest Park if chickens make you happy and old rusty cars and youve got a fresh tetanus shot I recommend this spot.

Great hike. Just a little challenging but long enough to make it worthwhile. And the view at the top from Pittock Mansion is always breathtaking.

Almost zero mobile signal at this place. So those wanting to call an uber need to be careful. I had to walk about a mile and half to get my mobile signal so that I could call an uber.

A great location to see Birds being rehabilitated by the Audubon Society and a great set of hikes. The Bird Sanctuary is essentially part of the Forest Park system and can be accessed from many trail heads. If you are on a hike, I suggest stopping for a break at the Audubon Society; the volunteers are friendly and hospitable..

Go on a clear day and see why the founders of Portland Oregon loved this land and all its inhabitants.
