Great trail, but it does seem like some people who reside at the nearby dock use part of the trail to (putting it politely) relieve themselves. I’d recommend watching your step as a result of this.
More crowded than it used to be but still just as beautiful. Luckily there is plenty of space. Im sure if your earlier or later youll have the place to yourself.
Amazing hike. It was an easy hike for my two kids, my wife and I to knock out in just under 2 hours. We had our dog off leash but he is amazingly well behaved so this lead to is getting a few looks from people with unfriendly dogs. The lake was amazing and the kids loved the bridge. Highly recommended with kids and or pets.
Beautiful area. Quite NARROW trails especially during COVID-19 avoidance. People who bring aggressive barking dogs dont grasp that this place is a REFUGE for wildlife!
Nice, easy hike for any age. It was a little rainy when we were there, so we only saw a few others. Kids enjoyed climbing trees and we all enjoyed seeing garter snakes, Canada geese, a few species of ducks, spotted towhees, robins, and egrets. We heard an eagle but didnt see it, and saw signs of beaver. The trees were blooming and starting to leaf out. I imagine this will be gorgeous in a couple of weeks.
A great hike, with lots of side trails to explore. Doesnt have much of an incline so trail is good for all hikers.
Beautiful place to walk except right after a rain storm. Wrong shoes, so I slipped alot.
I love this trail. Its a short hike good for a sunny afternoon. For a hike so close to Portland, theres relatively few people there. Its also a great place to pick blackberries.
Loved fishing and jumping in the water.
Good spot for walking/running.
Serene and pretty. With ducks
Beautiful area.
I love this trail. It takes me about an hour to walk the whole loop. Very biodiverse. Lots of frogs when its cool and rainy, lots of garter snakes when its warm and sunny. Blackberries peak in late August, wild roses abound, theres a stand of soulful oak trees and you can even find some St. Johns Wort out here. I keep coming back again and again.
Such a fantastic afternoon walk! The dog loves it and so do we. You get multiple types of scenery along the walk from a couple of houses, the picnic field in the beginning and walking along side the Willamette slough. Theres a dock to fish off of and plenty of sail/house boats to see.
A beautiful place, so quiet and yet so close to Portland. We enjoyed our walk but then discovered a what looked like a fairly fresh Cougar print along the trail. That was enough for us... we headed back to the car. Try again next time.
Nice easy trail for families with beautiful views. Plenty of wildlife to see. Its a bummer a parking pass is $10 though.
Great hike! Highly recommend!
Great place to walk on a hot Sunday afternoon in August. Decent birding, almost no water in the lake, zillions of blackberries. It was worth the trip from Beaverton.
Beautiful well maintained park. Love it here.
Very neat space, nice trails (muddy after rain) dog friendly and lots of little amazing little areas. Peaceful with lots of areas to fish too. The loop is about 2 miles with a shorter loop under one mile.
What a beautiful day to walk around the lake. Birds galore. Dont miss it!
They are extremely important and great help me to update
Great hike for young kids. We saw Egrets courting, ducks, hawks and a Raccoon. Very flat and our young kids aged 6 and 3 did it no problem.
Nice 2 mile loop trail around a pond but gets quite muddy in sections.
This was a wonderful park to walk around. Going in the Fall, Winter and Spring will mean less changes of mosquitos, but what this place is known for is bird watching. Look up what birds are around for different times of years. Spring is when we go, as we will see a wide variety of birds out and hear their calls.
Nice park. Not exciting, just a nice walk through nature.
Beautiful trail. Pretty flat, so easy walking. No restrooms.
The Wapato wetlands/greenway loop is nice for a quick hike in the morning. Remember to pack out your doggie bags, please!
Well maintained loop trail. Watch for horses, and dogs. Good selection of blackberries as well.
Great short hike around a pond lots of water fowl and pretty peaceful
Great wildlife viewing, nice walking trails and a good boating dock with nearby Portipotty.
Nice small hiking trail. Really quiet and not crowded.
Nice easy trail surrounding a lake that is often empty, but still serene
Pokemon stops and battles!! Not to mention its beautiful!!
Beautiful Sauvie Island hike with amazing bird watching!
Wapato what?!
Easy nite time hike
Great little walk
Unique different birds in the Northwest live in this area
A very flat short family friendly hike, however wish that theres more trail maps.
72 hr boat parking
Drove by or floated by once.
Cold water
A wonderful spot to hike!
Feel free to go find some birds
Quiet place
Very nice place for walk.
Get your walking on!
Favorite spot to run on Sauvie Island
It was REALLY muddy on the trail. There were a number of places that needed signage.
Great walk on Sauvie Island
Wow had idea this place was here.Ended up running out of daylight.. But I will be back to explore more.
This is a quite average area to hike in; there is no view, but you can be amidst nature very close to the city, and see some water birds.
I wish there was more water and more birds to see but thats ok. Out of my control. It was a nice walk.
