The place is clean and free admission.Theres plenty of open area on the bay side to pop up a tent and relax in the calm water.The ocean side beaches are not very deep in terms of the sand. Theres about 10-30 feet of open sand before the water depending on the tide.The jogging/walking trail is paved with look out points to watch the many native and migratory birds.We went about half a mile down the trail, Im not sure how long the whole trail is.

Beautiful. One of the prettiest places Ive seen so far. We will be going back ASAP. Not even the storm could make us leave. Personally, I loved Sunset Lake Park!

Many signs in need of replacing. Dont know if it a warning for alligator, deep water, no fishing, or no smoking.

Beautiful and different beachy experience for the coast here. The water was warm as bath water.

Great place to go for a run or walk. Theres a lookout spot that is a cool place to see some of the wildlife. The only thing that it could use would be some lights along the path for the night jogs.

Its a pretty picturesque spot however, it attracts giant groups of people that often have no manners and zero regard for the environment (like most areas here) so Id suggest avoiding weekends if youre coming to try and appreciate a chunk of nature.

Nice little place to fish if the piers are too packed or closed. Only downside is it is pretty shallow off the bank so you would need to walk far inward to get a decent fishing cast.

Love going here we ride our bikes from home the kids love going down the hill and the fresh air and scenery are great. The pedestrian path is good size for a family of 4 but traffic can still be a problem so proceed with caution.

Its a quite place, you can share with friends and family the breeze of the sea and join at any time

Its ok the scenario is very pretty boats pass by the restaurant while you are eating the seafood however is more like a fast food frozen fish and shrimp it reminds me of Long John silver

I love coming here...its certainly not the best fishing spot but it is certainly my favorite. I always get great photos of the sunset here. This particular trip I had my granddaughter and got a couple of cute shots of her!

Pretty good spot if you wanna get away from traffic and go fishing. Just watch out for trash every once in a while.

Sunset Lake Park is a protected public park among the many outdoor recreational resources that the South Texas Coastal Bend offers citizens and visitors. It is located on the shores of Nueces Bay and Corpus Christi Bay between Portland and Corpus Christi. The park is an ecologically rich wetland and saltwater lake habitat designed and operated to provide a broad range of outdoor recreational opportunities.

Really neat park area. Cement trail for bikes and walking through the wetlands.

A gem! Impressive birding experience, heightened by the excellent bird identification station (much appreciated for a developing birder). Nice assortment of migratory birds during my visit. Plenty of cover and pullouts along the narrow paved road that widens to a parking lot, and then turns into a bike nhike trail. Clean, no camping, port-a-potti services only. Relaxing and well worth the visit.

A nice spot away from traffic to catch up on exercise or just walk near the water on a paved route. Bathroom is handicap accessible and plenty of room to park and do what you need to do.

Sunset lake Park is a great place to walk my dog. Its got a 1 mile walking path. Its also a great place for riding a bicycle. Its close to the Indian Point fishing pier.
