Barbara Kite is in exemplary acting teaching with a unique gift for meeting students where they are, and inviting them forward.I began taking Barbaras acting class several months ago, and it is now a highlight of my week. The small workshop style classes mean that students get individual attention, as well as many opportunities to learn by watching.The actual class time is diverse and challenging with each person working on different things: scenes, monologues, exercises, experiments, etc.The class is made up of a diverse swath of performers with varying skill level. Some people are just starting out, and others have quite a bit of professional experience. The community is truly welcoming to new comers. In addition there is not even a hint of competition between students. No pissing contests, just everyone trying to deepen and hone their craft.Barbara sensitively, and intensely guides each performer, helping them work on their own specific blocks, hangups, and techniques. Ive been acting professionally for several years, and was impressed by how quickly and accurately she identified my issues, and gave me a manageable path for working on them.
