Poor customer service from gentleman in Pro Shop. Been playing here for several years using the group golfer vouchers. Never had a problem. Got there 10/24 for a 9 am tee time and said these are only good after 11am...never had an issue before but never really read fine print and I understand....but I still thought he would let us play this time. I mean seriously 2 hours. I will NEVER suggest anyone play this course.
The staff here were super nice! They are trying to get this course back in shape. We will come back again!
What a disappointment. Played this course year ago was in great shape. Played today. What a joke no mention as they took my 40.00 how bad this course is There is NO grass on tee boxes Tees haven’t been picked up in months it looks like. Forget the sand. And the greens are like putting on a land mine. Worse course I’ve ever played on. What a shame . I would give it a zero Was one the nicest in the area. WAS!!!
Very friendly staff, great course for the price.
Great time at Tuesday Taco and Margarita night at Port Charlotte Golf Club! Every Tuesday starting at 5pm!
The course needs some work. The restaurant was wonderful--good food and wonderful staff.
Great afternoon at the Charlotte jam jazz held today at Port Charlotte golf clubVery friendly atmosphere clean well decoratedStaff good and attentive food good according to what you order fish and chips excellent great afternoon of good jazz music singing food excellent afternoon
Better every time we play there.
Nice layout but needs work price is good people are friendly
Greens are full of weeds and fungus. Only a few bunkers have sand, others are just raked dirt. Tees are all weeds and only weeds. There is no grass on them at all. Fairways still have a little grass but have generally been taken over by weeds. Rough is mostly too long but Ill forgive them on that because of the wet weather. I think this place is only open because the owner has to have someplace else for his Charlotte Harbor National (Bobcat Trail) members to play while its being renovated. Dont waste your money on this place at any discounted rate. The land would be better used as a cow pasture or for affordable housing than as a golf course.
Great course very friendly people. I recommend it highly
Not good,92 outside and they had know water on the course, not even a beverage cart. The greens have weeds growing everywhere which causes your ball to skip.
New owner/management and its starting to show, course is looking better and soon will be looking good.
Extremely slow play and poorly maintained everywhere...Dont waste your money at Port Charlotte Golf Club
Great people great course!!!
Under new ownership, undergoing improvements due to investment...will be better than ever soon
Driving range was great !!!! Practice putting green was a little rough. My friend and I had a great time, spent 2 hours there.
Employees are very friendly and the greens are fast
What a disappointment. I played this course a couple of years ago when I was down and it was great. Course was in good shape had a great day. I guess a new company bought the course about a year ago and they have let the place go to hell. Greens are ok but you can tell when someone isnt spending money on the course. AND THE PRO SHOP! The only thing I could see for sale in the entire pro shop was four gloves! Literally no balls, no shirts, no hats, nothing. Im not even sure they had TEES! I guess they own another course near by. Based on what they have done to this one NO THANKS! I guess their name is Skygolf now. Congrats guys you really know how to suck the money out of a nice course and ruin it. WOW
The new owner has let it go. He shouldnt be allowed to own anything. A good cow would Not be able to live on the weeds in the fairways.
Okay golf course
Very nice workers and nice employees
Great course great greens and staff. Mark makes sure its in the best shape
Grass kinda sucked, but its
Great local course.
I dont know how to golf
Course in great shape. Greens fast as usual. Staff excellent and very friendly.
Not a bad course, but there are nicer ones close by that has better prices. The outside personnel are really nice, but some of the pro shop personnel are down right rude. Its seems like they feel you should be thankful theyre allowing you to play there.
The course is in horrible shape, a cow pasture would be an upgrade. I think it is close to closing down. The greens are loaded with weeds and uncut. Avoid. I gave it a 1 because it would not let me post a 0.
Course is in a little rough condition..
Old style course in decent shape. Pretty open. Gets busy so be prepared for a long round if tee times are pretty booked up.
We experience the same problem, week in and week out with the Port Charlotte Golf Course, namely excruciating slow play. Yesterday we were following a group that for some reason we have had the misfortune to follow numerous times before. Three riders and one walker. It wasnt long before the group in front of us was a whole hole behind the group in front of them which eventually stretched to 2 holes. Not only was the group immediately in front of us slow, the group in front of them was a full hole behind the group in front of them. We have spoken to the Rangers about the slow pace of play. Only to be advised that their hands are tied. The slow players are members and they are forbidden from speaking to them about their pace of play or anything else that would make for a more pleasurable pace of play for the paying public. We were only a twosome and one would have thought that a foursome playing at the pace of a death march would let a twosome through. That is until you take into account that Port Charlotte Members have absolutely no concern for anyone but themselves. To hell with the General Public. The unfortunate part of this whole exercise is that Port Charlotte has a monopoly on play in the immediate area, price wise since the closure of the Sable Trace Golf Course. We may play again at Port Charlotte but will also have to consider spending a little more and go to a golf facility that appreciates golfers other than their own spoiled shallow members.I would never recommend the Port Charlotte Golf Course to anyone looking for to an enjoyable golf experience.
Great track, not in the best of shape but when they want to... they can get the greens to be some of the best in the area. The staff is very nice and accommodating and the people that play here are friendly and most importantly, FUN!
Excellent price, well maintained course and good service.
Outstanding greens, Very nice course layout. The Pro out there is a great help. Very freindly staff.
This place is fun to gulf at and I use to drive my bike through the fields when I was younger
Great place, great price
Wow! Great customer service. After being treated horrifically by a male golfer, the lady in the pro-shop handled things very professionally. Thank you for taking a bad situation and making it better. Best customer service I have experienced in a long time!
Fair ways full of weeds and grrens full of mold spots.
Terrible new ownership pulled the pins at 530 told everyone to get off the course there closed really. Good luck!! Never play there again!!
Nice course but would be better if it had hills or bumps anything but flat.
Nice course, it was bought out by Alegant Airlines and they have raised their prices. Hoping they make some improvements on the course or I may have to find another place to play.
Its a good layout in bad condition.
Imaculate course. Greg Leak is an excellent PGA Professional.
Greens too short and fast, not in great condition. Staff was very friendly
Great course, staff is accommodating, tough very fast greens
I would like to thank PCGC for keeping their course in such good condition. Always a pleasure golfing there.
Not the greatest place to golf in the area. The course was fun to play although it was not very scenic, just a lot of straight fairways. On our second visit we were greeted in the pro shop by a female employee smoking and ignoring us on the phone. I thought that was a bit strange to allow employees to smoke at work (unprofessional). The employee proceeded to tell us that the course was closed due to a league (which is understandable) but the way she went about saying it felt all wrong. She was rude, snotty and mean. We asked her if the league ended before dusk but again, she just told us there is a league playing and we cant play (in an even more condescending tone).Needless to say, we went to a different golf course from then on. It worked out for the better though because we found some much nicer courses not too far away.
Nice course! Well maintained.
Good people and good golf...great bloody Marys
Had a blast at pcgc.....great staff
Good course, wide open
