West End Bridge, is great. I live nearby. I can access the whole city from it. 376 east and west, 279 north and south, North Shore, Downtown, 65, 51, North Side, and South Side. Traffic flows well, even at rush hour. Speaking of rush hour, lets all try to be considerate. If we are considerate, traffic will flow even better. Peace!
I didnt know you could review a bridge. Well I have crossed it many times. No trolls live below it. And it didnt collapse into the water. So good job bridge.
It isnt really the bridges fault, I suppose, that so many sources of traffic all converge onto it, so my rating is only for the actual bridge and its...fine. It hasnt been super well maintained, but then again it is pretty old--maybe it just needs some paint. There are arrows or Xs above each lane implying that the flow of traffic can be changed, but Ive never seen that actually used, its always two lanes in each direction.
If youre a photographer shooting sunrise photography, this is the place to go for beautiful shots of the city. try it in the summertime, or a very peaceful day and youll get nice shots with calm water. watch out for cars and trucks passing by, because your camera will shake for long exposures
Love the view. Its a great short cut to many places WEST of city
Its a good bridge, but there are trolls living underneath. They are dirty and they leave garbage on the pedestrian walkways. Its so filthy its dangerous. Needles and feces. It needs cleaned up and cleaned out.
Great bridge, it got me across the water. Highly recommend it if u want to cross over the water lol
I really enjoy the BEAUTIFUL VIEW as you are crossing the West End Bridge, viewing our Wonderful North Shore region, & you get a glimpse of Heinz Field Stadium, Lovely Home of our Pittsburgh Steelers, it is sooo exciting all of New & AWESOME things we now have now in our North Shore Region!!!
Its a big bridge that does big bridge things with an added view. 12/10 would cross again to get to north shore without the nightmare of ft pitt/ft duq
I was able to cross the river, so as a bridge it works well. Traffic tends to snarl during rush hour though.
It wouldve been nice to know that I cant make a left to the Southside.. a little before hand. Not knowing that the sign that reads McKees Rocks was, the turn for less than a few seconds and then a another few seconds another left turn.. hmmm... a sign isnt all that hard to post... Grrr!
Great for 4th of July
Its like, you know, a bridge. I use it to cross the river for various reasons. 10/10 would cross again. Especially since I have to go to work.
Beautiful place to watch downtown fireworks
Grand view of the city about halfway across... Awesome place...
It is always there for me when i need it!
Typical bridge good to cross, sturdy
Decent bridge and it helps to avoid traffic on other bridges. Great view
My favorite place to take pictures of the fireworks!
Ttttttttttttttrrrrrrrrrrrrraaaaaaaaffffffffffffffffffffiiiiiiiiicccccccccc. The last two miles of my evening commute usually take upwards of 20 minutes. People gridlock coming from 65 and from the north side. Its not fun.Still, once youre on the bridge, the view is super nice! It gets +1 star for that.
Without this bridge imagine your commute, rush-hour or none its pretty significant.Rating down a bridge wont fix the issue send letters to your council, but the fix will always end up coming from our pockets. But just think if the did do construction on or near this bridge it will end up adding to the problem that already exists until completed.
It was really fun
I dont know how I could contribute about this bridge other than I drive over it often! Certain hours of the day r busier w/traffic than others! AGAIN-this is a bridge questions like: is there a parking lot? Or, is there wheelchair accessibility? does not apply!!! It just seems so silly when theres questions like that! LOL
Great views
If you want a unique view of the Point, take a walk over the West End Bridge. Its loud, its noisy, it shakes. Best time to cross is during the day. You really dont need to be crossing it at night, unless you are there for the 4th of July fireworks display.
Great view of the city
Its a bridge between to pieces of land one must use to get to the other side when there is water in between.
Great view of the city in the morning from here. Well worth the trip.
This is my 14th favorite bridge (4th favorite yellow one) and where I had my first kiss, the second time, so it means a lot to me, especially in December!
I was in a Auto reck
Great view of PGH from walk way, a good option to skip FT Duquesne and Ft Pitt bridges to enter or exit town
Openstreets.pgh did a great job will go back again.
ITS not safe to many confusing lane. and I think they should put up some bearers in some spots. who ever designed this route was an d***head
Road construction is now an issue
Good bridge? Not too much traffic.
Always jammed with traffic due to poor planning by PennDOT on both sides of the bridge.
Enjoyed Pittsburghs bridges
Traffic is nerve wracking and crazy and the bridge dipping and swaying no thanks just let me get home lol
For watching fireworks
Best view of the city
Hahaha
Traffic
