This place was amazing. I work for a non profit and they opened up their establishment just for us to bring our members, the staff was friendly and knowledgeable. They were very accommodating and the whole experience was just top notch. I cant wait to bring my own family to this amazing place.

It says online that this place is open at 9 am. I showed up at almost 10 am, the ticket window was open but no one was there. An employee came from the parking lot in full costume and didnt acknowledge us at all, just disappeared! We waited for a good 20+ minutes before leaving because no one showed up.

We came on a rainy day during the week but even still we loved it. There is so much here that it gives you a sense of what life was like during the Victorian and Pioneer era. Some of it is hands on (gold panning) but most buildings you just peak in. They have more events on the weekends. Great for the family, especially for homeschoolers.

Wonder what life in 19th-century Arizona was like? The Pioneer Living History Museum has relocated historic farmstead homes and painstakingly recreated shops, blacksmith, church, gallows & more. Also of interest: The Telephone Museum onsite with hundreds of vintage phones!

We went to the Halloween event in the evening and it was a blast. I brought a crew of kids from 3-13 years old and they all had so much fun. Plenty of treats, fun on the bounce houses, fun maze for the bigger kids, gun show, and train. Well worth the price of admission. My favorite part was that we got a couple of flashlight tours of the houses!

I loved walking the trails that take you by the relocated buildings of Arizonas history. Each building has as a good description of its history and orgin. My children loved the old farm equipment and the 4 foot tall walls of the hay bale maze. The church building is cute and is still in operation for weddings. This place is huge. Carry water. I loved the teachers home and school house with dunce hats included. We saw lizards. Were told to watch for snakes but never saw any. There was only one down side...the constant boom of rifle shots from Ben Averys shooting range on the other side of the hill.

Very fun visit - much bigger property than you would first expect. We went during the week and there werent any period piece actors attending all the different buildings so things were roped off but still easy to see. I think with locals providing information and color this is 5 star. Most of the buildings were actually original and brought to this location and stood up which is incredible. Very cool!

Worth a visit for anyone intetested in Arizona history, also very good for families. Twenty five acres with several dozen buildings (victorian home, ranch, schoolhouse, jail, etc) mostly from the late 1800s. Most were authentic or built from original materials (I believe...). Nice level sidewalks along the entire grounds, so good for strollers, walkers, and wheelchairs. A bargin at $10, $8 for seniors. Lovely grounds & views to meander. Not in pristine condition (created in 1950s) but that makes it feel authentic. Very quiet when no school groups but I do believe it is under used because they really dont have a budget/staff for it. Pleasant surprise, glad we found

Went on a lazy Sunday afternoon. Wasnt packed at all and exceptionally priced. We spent about 2 hours here and saw almost everything. Lots of interesting old buildings and artifacts. The kids loved the corn maze and the animals. The only negative was that there were a couple things under construction and being repaired due to deterioration.

This was such a cool experience. My son went on a field trip, and we got to see how things were done way back when? It reminded me of the TV show Little House on the Prairie. The kids were able to look for gold and we even got to see a real life gun fight!

I attended for a field trip. It was a nice enough place. But there was no programming for the kids or anything to really learn about, other than some plaques on the buildings. They enjoyed the gold panning although most kids got soaking wet which wasnt fun. And they enjoyed the western gun fight. However the microphones were cutting in and out, causing a lot of feedback, and altogether too loud. It may be a nice place for older grades, but for a large group of first graders, I think it was a miss.

Fun place to spend some time with the whole family. Kids like the costumed people and the overall look of the place. Looks to be maintained well and made for a cheap way to spend some family time while maybe teaching the kids something in the meantime. If you are into old printing methods there are some neat old printing machines. Anytime the kid has a good time it’s worth a good review.

This was a nice place to go for an afternoon walk. It seems to be very run down. Walked along behind other guests and multiple times heard her mention how much it had changed since she had visited 15 years ago. Paint was peeling and entrance into the majority of the buildings was not allowed. So I encourage everyone to donate to keep this place going. History is so important, and its enriching to think of how different life used to be.

Was a good experience, as many have said I’m glad they managed to rescue this bit of history from destruction.Sadly most of the buildings are close to falling apart and they don’t let you tour them due to the fear of “theft” according to the attendant at the front.Still a good few hours walking around (BRING WATER!!) and seeing bits of history that you would otherwise not see.

The experience was ok. The houses were amazing!! Sadly, the goats have over grown feet to the point they trip. Their cage is full of poop and they seem very hungry. They also got stuck in a net while were there. The chickens on the other hand were the best looking chickens Ive ever seen. They would have 5 stars if they cared about their goats. Amazing home tours!! I recommend this place.

We arrived on the day they were doing a civil war reenactment. There were lots of people and lots of fun. I would highly recommend this place.Id love to go back!!!

This is an interesting living history village. The negatives for me were the old cabins are located too far from the rest of the town buildings and some buildings were closed due to a lack of volunteers. The helpful staff did make arrangements for me to see two of the locked homes. Come on a day when the telephone museum is also open as an added bonus. Overall I enjoyed my visit and recommend visiting.

Have been going here since I was a kid. Anyone who loves or likes history should like this place. Looks like they may need addition help with funding. I remember visiting Pioneer Living History Museum when most all of the biildi g were unlocked and open for you to go in and take a closer look at things. There were even quite a few with attendants that were dressed appropriately as if they lived there. I even got to eat bread that was made by an attendant and cooked in one of the old cabins stone fireplaces. Hated to see the restaurant close, but the addition of the telephone museum is a great thing tontake its place. All in all I think Pioneer Living History could use a little tlc, and possibly some volunteers or private donations to help bring this place alive again.

While I LOVE the historic buildings here, I am heartbroken that they are not being preserved as they should be. All the cabins are open to the elements (heat, wind, dust, rain) with no work being done to fill in the holes. There is the original family cabin of Arizonas very first Senator Henry Fountain Ashurst which is deserving of care in remembrance of his service from 1912 - 1942, but I dont see it lasting long in its current situation. If Sharlot Hall was still alive, she would take it to her museum in Prescott and restore it... But its crumbling. So sad. Also wonderful is the phone museum with a man who began working with phone companies in 1952 and walked us thru with his narration of how communication evolved. It touched my heart seeing an old switchboard with wires like my mom told me about working at before she married my dad. History needs to be highlighted and treasured more... It is important.

Nice place to see a bit of South West history. We came during week so not as many people in period dress but we still enjoyed it. Someone else mentioned about not being able to go in to houses but they are decked out so I can understand why they dont want people having access to them.
