I played the Palmer course and it was very nice. The course is challenging enough without making too frustrating. I played the front form the white and blue tees because thats what one of the playing partners was doing. Unfortunately I hit my driver further than he did, so it was always bringing the trouble onto play for me. They dropped after the front 9 and I played the back from the black tees. I dont play good enough to be playing for the back tees, but in this case it actually helped as I could hit away with my driver without getting in to too much trouble.Overall it was a nice course and fun round.
It seems a little odd that the bag drop and parking are so far away from the pro shop where you check in and pay for your golf.Only one of two courses were open the entire week so I had to play Faldo three times. The course is well maintained. The greens were hard so it was difficult to hold chips and approach shots but on the flip side the greens didnt mark easily so they were in really good shape.
Played the 1:30PM tee time and got out for a beautiful 85 degree day. Drink cart was expensive but good. Course was in good condition. Greens were a bit slow and the rough a bit short. Great pace and well managed by the course team.
Nice. Fun to play. Great conditions for november. Nothing to complain about.
Course in very good shape. Service always fantastic. Good and fair course.
One course open be and greens have been split. Most restaurants are closed. Pools open but not sure how many at a time.
Too much brown fairway. Dont like elevated greens where you cant see the surface. Staff was nice.
Fabulous club to belong to.
Matt Keel was a fantastic golf instructor. I felt comfortable and left the lesson hitting the ball straighter and further. Thank you Matt for sharing your knowledge! Looking forward to coming back!
Amazing course! Very well maintained, great staff and fast greens. If you’re traveling to Arizona and looking for a great golf experience then this Club will exceed your expectations.
Great practice facility
Course is in terrible shape. Fairways are plagued with dead grass. Municipal course that cost a third of the price are in better condition. Had to search for a spout of grass to place my ball on when drive down the fairway.
Had an early dinner with 2 very dear friends who were here visiting only for a weekend empowerment conference for women! We had a wonderful time together. Our waitress was excellent and the food delicious! Standout appetizer - Avocado Toast. I ordered some to take home!!! GREAT!
In excellent condition year round. Well managed. GPS in the carts that is very accurate. Love this course.
Fun course! Greens and fairways were fantastic -- well maintained. The staff came around four times to thank us for golfing with them. Prior to our tee time the unlimited complimentary range balls was a nice way to warm up. The complimentary golf balls with the wild fire logo were cheap. I let my co-golfer use, or rather lose them, after the first 9 holes! In searching for his ball he ran across a bobcat. He subsequently tried to film it, but just got the last bit of it running off after it jumped into a residential backyard. I tried to include the video but it wont let me.
Course play, service, restaurant, and employees were all great! I will be coming back to this course.
Love it. Played it last Christmas.
Love this golf course despite its 166, mostly huge, bunkers. Always in great condition, greens roll fast and true, and those bunkers are exceptionally maintained. Every hole is completely different, visually super looking, without every hole lined by homes. In fact most are not.
Well maintained. Pool table greens
I have been a member for five years. Both courses are challenging and in very good condition. The staff is very friendly. It is a great place to play golf. The hotel is excellent also.
First time playing here. The Palmer course was in great shape considering its September already. Plus, right before overseeding.Greens were firm and fast at times. Great layout. Will be back
Both courses were in great condition. I was stopped by the course marshal, Tommy, who wanted to ensure we were having a great time. Pace of play was under 4 hours.
Our 25 people played yesterday. The great course! The staff did a excellent job for us.
Wildfire Golf Club: Both the Faldo and Palmer layouts at JW Marriotts Wildfire Golf Club, lay down an excellent and contrasting test of golf. The Faldo Championship Course, rated 4-1/2 stars, offers a slight variation from the typical desert-theme layouts widely found in Scottsdale.
The course was wonderful! My buddies and I had a great time and your staff were excellent. Ill be back for sure.
Just because I work here doesnt mean Im obligated to say this property is nice. I saying it because it truly is paradise in paradise valley.
Good desert golf experience without having to drive too far out of town.
Great course....friendly pro shop....accomodating to out of towners...
Great course and friendly people would definitely recommend!
Well kept courses with 2 challenging layouts. LPGA plays here. Faldo course has LOTS of traps.
Too many bunkers for the average golfer on the Faldo Course. Greens and staff were excellent.
From Orlando, on a 1 week stay & play golf package. Very nice Marriott resort. Both courses were in great shape. The Faldo course has 108 bunkers, but a bit more forgiving off the tee.The Palmer course is what I expected from desert golf in that, if not accurate off the tee... you pay a steep price.Since Im long (by amateur standards) off the tee, both my wife & I preferred the Faldo course.Great amenities overall. The staff was great. I had to re-schedule all of my tee times several days before our stay and the staff in the pro shop were real pros. I felt the golf staff were very helpful and nice but without overly brown-nosing.For resort golf - we found WildFire to be top notch. We definitely plan on being back.If there is 1 negative, in my personal opinion, it is this: I dont care how fancy of a place it is... typically you can find a nice golf shirt for less than $80.I happened to play TPC Sawgrass the week before, and found a sales rack and a gorgeous $85 Greg Norman shirt on sale for $55.WildFire had a sales rack, but slim pickings. So I had to pay $80+ for a golf shirt.Oh well. Still love the place.
Golfed here this past weekend. While it is hot in AZ this time of year, this course suffers from zero shade making it even worse. There is almost no place to escape the sun. Anyhow, the course, while it is in nice shape there is no excuse for the atrocious pin placements. I bet even scratch players would have been upset. Not only where the cups cut bad but nearly every pin was placed on a slope (not small ones either). Ive played many golf courses some much nicer than the JW and have never seen pin placements this hard, or should I say poorly placed. You can keep your $50 summer fair Id rather play Troon or Anthem. I also want to ad that one whole was entirely unplayable do to major repairs that was not communicated to our 4 some.
Its a beauty,...going back for sure, pure class. :-)
Nice golf course, fun layout.
The best kept country club secret in Phoenix
Nice course till we met the cart lady #angry #bitter #nosugarforme
Great place for golf
Love this place
Fun course!
Very nice place, golf course, people
