A place to always remember...this was home away from home i grew up in this place i learned how to associate with people i learned how to make friends i met my first love here who later became my 1st wife...spending time here was more than worth the experience rather good or bad...i miss the all nighters those were good times..the term parking lot pimpin was invented here back in the 90s when we was coming here...i really cant speak about prices cause we was getting in free most of the time we were just known like that we knew the family who ran rollero...and yeah we stayed with a full stomach...fortunately i was able to bring my children here and share my experiences with them and show them how to skate and get out on the floor with other kids and let their mind and body be free and most of all enjoy themselves the same way daddy did and after all these years my children were able to meet the family of rollero before the place closed....we say goodbye for now to rollero but hopefully one day youll be back and when you do itll be stronger than ever.......So Mote It Be......
Came here for a kids birthday party and it was fun. Our party had the entire rink for 2 hours and they played some oldies and current songs. I was too chicken to skate but my nephew had a blast.
Rollero to me was EVERYTHING 1987-1988I was there EVERY single day except Monday, cause they were closed.I was 12-1÷ yrs old.Now my daughter is 14 & my bucketlist wish is to take her to rollero so i could come full circle with her to show her that life outside of Las Vegas is amazing & wonderful.I am not sure who exactly owns tbis wonderful world of fun. But back then i believe it was Tom and his wife Nancy. They had 2 twin girls around 7-8 yrs old. That skated cirlcles around me. But the entire famuly was and is an amazing bunch.PKEASE LETS NOT GIVE UP ON THE SKATING RINKS.GOOD TIMES. AMAZING MUSIC & .....SKATES
This place is awesome !Tha workers are nice nd tha whole place overall is very chill. Although tha alley is small, tha people/workers nd tha environment do make up for it .What i do miss though was when they had stools to sit on =/ sigh..
This is a place i went to since I was 8, my older sister worked there. I can honestly say I’ve had the best memories there
It was a great place, but the roof collapsed and its all torn down now. It doesnt look like its coming back, since its been a couple of years now.
No problem every one had a 100% great time
I dont know why Google asked me to review this place because its no longer open due to the roof accident.
Will it ever open back up ?
We had my sons birthday party here last week. The staff is great and friendly. You dont have to worry about your skating ability because members and crew alike are positive and helpful. When you fall (crash) the regulars come over and sit next to you until you get back up. Really great service and prices. Old school style but huge value.
Great family skating rink! Took my 8 year old for our Friday date night. Perfect crowd for kids. The staff is friendly and quick to protect the kids when they fall. There were smiles everywhere. Not expensive. Good music and just about everyone was skating. Well be back!
Took the money from the community, stated they would rebuild then they get the insurance money and run off with it and put the property up for sale lol
This was my childhood place and home and my thia Rosie took me and my cousin angel here the hotdogs were really good it was sad that the rofe collapsed
You first walk in and you are greeted by the most awesome staff! The place needs a little bit of upgrading but I dont come there for the decorations. Their free training on Saturdays are wonderful. we come here every week (its about 35 minutes away from where we live or else we would come twice a week)
Place was amazing to go to my brother told me about this place it’s where I learned to skate loved going here such a shame to see how it hadn’t been maintained I’m sure they had insurance but since it’s been up so long they probably just took the money and left the building I’m sure it would have cost a grip to get it back up and too much work so they took there insurance money and left it. You guys should have rebuilt it with ac and such would have made a ton hopefully they rebuild it
Well I dont know if there are any of the old timers left out there, but I and my buddies used to go here about 2 or 3 times a week. You could take dance lessons get your dance bars, go to skate meets and even go to the nationals for top skaters. this always a good place to have a lot of fun. as for me I wish I still could skate but not so much, as I will be seventy soon.just lot of good memories .Al and Karen Thompson were the best they were great teachers and mentors it was a great place to be this was a long time ago like 1961 thru 1968 thank you for the memories.
I had my daughters 10th birthday party at Rollero, at her request. Ill put things simple, so that the owner will understand why I will never recommend that establishment to anyone.1. No air conditioning. There are fans that look like they havent been cleaned since it opened in 1940.2. Everything was sticky to the touch.3. The carpet looks like it could be original; grey with stains.4. The water is unfiltered and tasted like something from a garden hose.5. The entry into the establishment is single-file, as you wait outside. Once you get inside, you must talk to someone on a microphone behind glass.6. It is across the street from a boarded up bowling alley and the coin laundry (just to give you an idea of the area.)7. When we went to the car, there was a strong odor of marijuana.8. The dress code reminds me of high school, which led me to question what type of people go there.9. Birthday parties do not have a host/hostess. They provide nothing, except generic balloons.10. It is cash only....shady, in my opinion.11. I was too afraid to order food. From the house freezer packed with hot dogs, to the flimsy paper plates and paper towels (their form of napkins) that were dispensed from a bathroom dispenser...I passed.12. The skates were dirty and some had holes in them.NEVER again....ever.
I went here for a birthday party and i had no idea how to ride the roller skates and the now i do. You should go some time its the best.
Rollero holds my fondest childhood memories as well as my teen years. My condolences to the owners who were such awesome mentors to a lot of us back in the 80s. Sorry to see the damage. Great place for kids of all ages. K Venard
Took my family for a skate night and was happy to see other kids there skating too. Price was right and started off fine... Then music with profanity comes on. Thats where I left. Dont advertise that youre a family place when music with swearing and the n word is what youre going to play. Disappointed.
Loved going here as a child. Unfortunetly nothing has been maintained and now rollero is gone! Its very sad and hopefully they will rebyild and actually maintain it this time because Great skate and skateland are HORRIBLE with their wrist gaurds etc. Please fix rollero already!!! Didnt you have insurance?
$9.00 to enter with skate rental. I have my own skates and had to pay full price.. paying for rentals I dont even use.. Girl at the front and lady at the snack counter acted very disgruntled and as if I was wrong for asking when I brought this up... Gatorade is $2.50 for a small bottle, yet at any expensive gas stations you can get two large ones for $3.00. THE most ridiculous skating rinks Ive been to concerning money and employee attitudes.. and Ive skated Dozens across the country. The extra star is for the awesome floor guards and the nice people who skate well and still get ripped off.
Always friendly, helpful, and fair (both pricing and personally.) Love taking grand babies there all year long. The extra saved in pricing and snack bar package deals, is worth putting in the gas for the long trip from the west.
It was a fun an inexpensive place to take my kids rollerskating, until the roof caved in.A couple weeks back i checked the website to see the skate times. There website stated they were open that particular day. When we got there we were disappointed to see a fence around the place & the roof had fallen in. I hope they get up & running again. If they do im sure it wont be for a while though
I started going here in the 70s or earlier when the original owner played the organ. We skated to that. LOL! With my ex. MY son learned to skate there and worked there, and later my daughter learned to skate and worked there. I have a lot of good memories here. Would love to see it rebuilt. Nothing fancy just a nice family oriented safe place to go and KEEP THE WOOD FLOOR! That was awesome to skate on.
Great music. Great attention 2 kids. If you cant watch them..
Took my family there.. skating was ok but we had purchased a couple sodas there and the clerk gave me a difficult time because I didnt have lids for a refill. I was like look at my cup it had soda and I paid for them. I simply wanted a refill. Well she refused and said she needed a manager to approve the refill. So I walked over and spoke with Mike. He said ok Ill do it this time but for sanitary reasons we dont usually do that. So I went back and before I even spoke to the clerk she walked away to go speak to the manager. I followed and simply said I just wanted a refill and again was denied simply because I had no lid. Mind you when I first purchased them I requested no lid. I understand sanitary reasons but while I was waiting in line some kids were taking their lids off and setting them on the dirty counter. The clerk refilled the drinks for them and put the dirty lids back on. So I threw my cups and paid for water bottles. Point is that it was poor customer service from the get go. I didnt care about the money, it was the principle of the matter.. why would you haggle a customer that just spent 70 dollars plus at your establishment for a 1 dollar refill. Sad part is that I took my family because I myself went skating here when I was a teen 25 years ago and customer service has definitely changed since.. lesson learned. Make sure you get a lit for your cup even if you request for no lid. To top that off the manager was flirting with my 13 year old daughter and I had to jump in and say something... anyway folks that was my experience here and its my opinion. I wouldnt recommend this place because of my own personal experience..
Hahaha I saw my friends and they kept on falling xD but great music and games and cool PIZZA
Last time Im going here. Staff was being rude. Didnt let me back in. Place smell. Crowded. Always fight after fight. It not safe. I recommend peoples not to go here.
The owners are great. It is sad that roof collapsed and they are not open right now.
I drove from west mesa which is about 45 min drive, because I wanted to try something other than skateland. So the beginning was cool, I had to bring my shoes back to the car because theirs no lockers, started skating, than this annoying girl on the speaker would not shut up. She kept saying if your skates come off you have to leave if your by the door leave being really rude. Some one ended up getting jumped. The water was like $4 . Ill just stick to skateland, and they play better music.
Great prices, friendly staff, good music.. had a great time!
My first time skating here was a blast! Employees were very helpful to my newby skate legs. A little hot, have water available!
Best Place To Skate . Everyone is So Nice They Clean I Recommend You To Come Here: )
This place is awsome!! It might not have the best skates for u to use but the ones they sell are beast!!! I like that old fashion skating rink! It has lots of style!! Go and skate at rollero its the best!!!!
Its good and all...BUT I WISH THAT THEY WOULD PLAY A MORE AND BETTER VARIETY OF MUSIC(hip-hop, pop,rock...ect,)
Love this place! I go just about every week, last time I went my wheel fell off and they fixed it for me! Very great service.
It was really cool. Went thre today actually with cousins. Anyway, the only real complaint i had was that it was kinda hard to move around the entire place. I mean theres so much bumps in the floor! the wooden floor was good though. :)
This is Adriber I will always provide the best and honest reviews. Been coming here a few times already. Must say the customer service is great. Every visit we are always welcome with a warm smile. The price is good also. On Saturdays the have $5 skating lessons for kids and adults can learn for free. The instructor is very nice but I noticed his assistant goes above and beyond for does that are skating for the first time. Sundays they have $5 skating renting shoes, hot dog and a small drink, this also includes the entrance. The place is fun and friendly. The only thing is that the bathroom could be updated and have some plumming done. Since I noticed some visit the bathroom works and others it doesnt. I wasnt too picky on the tables or seats. The reason why is because this is a roller skating place and if just come to sit then that defeat the purpose of coming. As always Im the firm believer of quality over quantity. This is my review and remember always look for adriber for the best and honest review.
Grew up in maryvale in 1993. When I was going to Desert sands jr high this was the place to go. Much appreciated that this place still exists.
I went there and I was awesome I promise you will love it there when I first started I couldnt even stay on my feet but after half a hour and grate music you are like a doss im so going to go again !!!!!! :-)
A good place for the kids to hang out at. Very affordable!
Cool place to go with some friends on Friday night .
Always a great time. The staff is great, the floor is smooth and the music is thumpin.
Its fun but really hot. One of the older ladies who works in snack bar is rude as hell and could use some customer service skills
Best place ever !! Skates where good and it look orginal still great place to skate and fun games and great prices
Its cute and I keep going because I spent my childhood there, but the building is literally falling apart. Im 90% sure its a safety hazard.
Love this place since I was a kid. I take my nieces and nephews here.
No roller blades? Ill take my family and money to Great Skate.
Awesome service! Definitely the place for birthday parties.
Facility has character and style!!!This place has been here since I was a little girl and now my little girl enjoys it!!keep up the tradition and enjoy this facility! Wood floors are classic and original! And for the reviewer who said nothing but negative over a 10year old bday party!1st off the facility is a tradition and its called swamp coolers not no AC!The water is called tap water if you require a facility who offers filter water I would suggest going to a facility in Scottsdale!Lastly, you lied about the Bowling Allie across the street, its not boarded up!!!Its a reputable facility called Brunswick Desert Sky Lanes!!!Youd probably be better off hosting your childs bday at Chuckie Cheese next time, they might be able to accommodate your outlined expectations for a childs bday!I disagree with your review!Skate on Rollero!!!
Love it .never been before. Have not skated in 20 years
Its been closed for a very long time, I think it might be time to just put the nail in the coffin.
The best roller skating place there ever was.
Its an aight place. I like Great Skate better but this place is aight . To the pregnant later that commented on here. If your that stupid to rollerskate while being preg, u shouldnt have kids. Your putting your kid in danger. I can see why the other places kicked u out. I just hope Rollero has sense to do the same. Been skating over 20 years and no matter how careful I am accidents can still happen .
I have been going here for over 15 years and I have never found the same atmosphere anywhere else I have ever been on town! Great music and people!
Nice place but there is no AC!! It is hotter inside than it is outside.
My kids love it. Fun for kids of all ages.
First time there today and it was really cool enjoy it and staff was cool af
Yo it is the best skating rink ever going today
Its where I learned to skate and I love the theme it shows my school used to have days where we got flyers to go and we would get a discount and I went every time, my neighbor used to work there, I havent gone in a while and for me its like home hopefully it recovers from its damage to the roof
Very old and outdated needs to cleaned up and updated a little bit, kids had fun here skating and eating junk food from the snack bar cash only .
