This neighborhood youth recreation center has a baseball/soccer field, playground, outdoor pool and fills a full city block.The outdoor basketball court was recently renovated, and is open daily to everyone. Its a popular dog-walking destination especially in late afternoons and weekends. If you enjoy outdoor art, come to admire 3 large-scale murals celebrating sports, history and the arts. Theres a 60-foot mural by Joshua Mays with 40 portraits honoring African-American contributions to baseball. The mural wraps around the Ryan Howard Youth Baseball training center. Mark Stocktons mural of Marian Anderson alone is worth a trip. There are trash cans but no public parking.

Couldnt believe how nice the field and complex was! You go from tight city streets and alleys to this huge open space! It was so nice and clean and just perfect for playing baseball!

Great outdoor basketball court. In summer evenings you always get a good amount of guys there. A lot of them are in high school.

We come here for the outdoor pool during the summer. I love that they provide various sized life jackets for kids and section off multiple parts of the pool for different ages and swim abilities- personally i think its also so the the adults and older kids are not bothered in the deep end by all the younger ones splashing and boisterous screams. The pool is always clean and the crowd isnt rowdy. Another bonus is there is the rec center attached to it, as well as, basketball courts, a park and numerous others around.

Love the Park and center. Would be great if there was a posting of dates, hours and events somewhere easily accessible. Almost like you need to know someone who knows someone to get any info.

This park has a lot to offer including the connected rec center. Once it warms up their pool is an awesome place to cool off. They have basketball courts in the south west corner, which are always accessible. There is also a very nice baseball diamond on the Fitzwater St side.

South West Central City of Philadelphia Recreation Center, field and outdoor swimming pool recently partially renovated with various supervised recreation and social activities occurring six days a week with the exception of public holidays.

Wonderful place to keep youth occupied. Enjoyed an amazing Saturday with a multitude of talented amateur boxers.

Great park in Graduate Hospital

I love love love the pool here!! Public swimming is from 12pm-5pm every day and its 100% free! The pool is Crystal clear and very large. It goes from 3ft to 5ft 10in. They provide life jackets for children in sizes child xs to youth medium. They also have life jackets for smaller children such as 2 or three year olds. There are numerous life gaurds around the pool and they are all friendly and attentive. They dont allow more than 90 people in the pool area at a time which still leaves you plenty of room because a lot of people lay out on the grass. I always enjoy myself when I come here. Also there is a playground available to the public with cute playground equipment. This rec center has a summer camp and an after school program. There are opportunities to become a junior lifeguard and much, much more!

Beautiful grassy field that neighborhood kids, unfortunately cannot use unless they like to play baseball and can commit to a team. Unfortunate because its yhe only green space in the neighborhood. Nice to look at though

Ive been coming to the Marian Anderson Recreation Center since I was a kid and still coming here for dance rehearsal every week and loving it.

Well organized and kept fair. Super clean, quiet, and fun!

The neighborhood is not bad its okay. I grew up in South Philly so I could be a little bias.

I love that the recreation center has so many activities for children and even adults to partake in. The people who run the center are very nice. The people who participate in the activities are usually very courteous and family friendly. Never a bad experience.

This is a community center and baseball field which is excellently maintained and serves the children in this and visiting communitys well. Theres also a community swimming pool in commemoration of the late great Marian Anderson who lived near by.

I go there for the martial arts classes on Saturday. Good fun for the children.

Awesome park in the middle of the city.

They have really fixed the place up in recent years. The playground equipment is in need of a bit of polish but its still fun for my kids. Once all the rehab projects are complete the rating will go to 5 stars.

The neighborhood association supposedly raised 20,000 to improve the pool. This year they removed the lawn furniture, umbrellas and flags on the fence. Are they going to refund the people who donated the money for these items?

Rude to dog walkers on the side walk. Smh. Then followed me for a block and harassed me. My dog didn’t even use their grass.

Love the boxing gym here and looking forward to training here. I only visited one time and fell in love immediately.
