Walk, run or bike along Schuylkill river trail to reach beautiful boathouse row area. Pack some snacks and enjoy while you leisurely sit on one of the green spaces between boathouses. Sunset time is the best to visit this location as they turn their decorative lights on right after sunset and the reflection in water looks magnificent. You can also enjoy a good view of Philly downtown from boathouse row.
GORGEOUS and scenic at night. Recently went for a run through this area when it was getting dark and it was beautiful. Nice area, too.
Great spot for a number of activities. First of all, its a must see just because its an iconic view of the Schuylkill River. All of the different colored boathouses in a row look pretty cool. At night they are lit with Christmas style lights that can change colors with the seasons or for sports teams or whatever they choose. There are benches for sitting and people watching if thats your thing. You can rent bikes to ride along the paved River trail, or grab a snack at the small snack shop. All day and into the evening, you will see people strolling, biking or jogging all along the row and farther down the trail. Its right next to the art museum and the equally neat Water Works. Hit all three while you are in the area.
Super nice! All the different houses belonging to different groups are so awesome and are historic in a way with their design and architecture. It’s a great place to work out and exercise; the lanes are an awesome idea.
I wasnt here. I was at Lemon Hill. Still a beautiful view.
I use Google Maps/Photos to find local areas to photograph. I researched Boathouse Row and was attracted to the different areas along the banks of the Schuylkill River and the Martin Luther King bridge. I chose late afternoon to catch a good sunset. I also included a screen shot of the map I used with red dots of where the photos were taken. The last photo ended with a Philadelphia skyline shot from the bridge during the blue phase of sunset.
Walk twice a week.....very safe too
Always my favorite spot no matter if I am bike riding, roller skating or just walking. The atmosphere is just right, man and nature.
Good store. . good banana pudding. . needs more smoothie variety. .
Beautiful view of the river..great place to ride bikes
Great place to row but if u wanna join a club cooper river in NJ is much cheaper and better facility
I love it such a amazing experience, definitely will do it again..
Amazing area for peaceful walking or biking. Also a good picturesque area !
Beautiful area to stroll and enjoy the scenery. There is a cafe near so you can rest and grab a treat.
One of our favorite places to take a bike ride! This is where the boat teams from the local colleges come to practice on the water. When the weather is nice you will find lots of people on the grass having picnics and such while the teams practice!
Wonderful place to get in a early run or walk.
Very relaxing place. Love the calming atmosphere.
Rented a bike and road by the water on a BEAUTIFUL day. Had a great time! Thighs hurt but had fun
public parking lot(2 hours) nice park family(& pet) friendly wide path for walking, jogging, or bicycling. There is a porta potty in the parking lot. A cool (modern) drinking fountain designed 4 U & your pet @ the beginning, a skate park maybe 1/3 down and then a smallrestroom about 1/2 way down. The trail does not loop around: you just hit a wall, turn around ️, & go back the way you came. Ive never seen a bike path that goes under bridges, between locomotives and a river. Very design
Its well connected to nature and historical sites. A lot of walking trails and sites to see from boathouse row to the art museum where the famous Rocky statue stands on the steps looking down the Parkway.
Good date with my son.
Great place to go for a run or walk in Philadelphia while watching or experiencing the sport of crew/rowing.
More amazing then what I expected.
Great place to jog, ride bike, walk, sight see or just chill.
Lots of fun, even my eight month old enjoyed!
The best walk in all of Philadelphia. Century old archecture. Rest rooms, beverages, snacks, and beautiful scenery await you. Visit during off hours and you can park for free on the Kelly Drive.
Located in the opening credits of It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia, this was the first stop on our adventure after a pilgrimage from Akron, Ohio. It’s beautiful, historical, calming, and bad@ss all at the same time. Perfect view of the city from here.
Great place for site seeing and boat house row!
Always well taken care of and beautiful to look at while sitting in traffic.
Nice and peaceful atmosphere, just a lot of bugs, other than that its a cool chill spot.
Tons of people with beautiful scenery plus theres a beer garden
Drone shots I took from the banks of boathouse row.
The best place to work out
Great for exercise and people watching.
Always nice to sit outside at boathouse row and get fresh air and enjoy the scenery
No matter the season the year round light decorated homes lined on the water feel like Philly itself waving hello and goodbye on 76 and if traffic is flowing nice its a fleeting but magical moment.
Beautiful place to go on a date or with family
Very nice spot for a walk, jog, bike etc, pathway that runs along the water very relaxing
Good place to run, bike, and picnic with friends and family on warm days.
Had an awesome time riding bike rental family four seater
Favorite place for walking and workout in Philly! Close to city center. Sometimes overcrowded with joggers, no chance for plain walk.
Whats Not to Love On The Drive aka Boathouse Row!! Walking, Running Or Biking Its All Available and The Scenic Views Are Amazing!!
Very nice place to sit and chill. There are benches along the drive. The bird are doing their job as well as the sun. You have to check out the view from the gazebo it’s great!!
Nice place to relax and take in the Philly sights.
Love Boathouse Row... Thats me and bae playground! Lovers lane at nite by the water.
Beautiful. A great place on a nice day.
Went walking down the row I love it by the water
Very beautiful and nice place to sit and walk in Philly!
A beautiful place to jog!
Beautiful scenery. Nice atmosphere
Sunset anyone? If you are from Philly or not you have to catch a sunset here.
Beautiful day for a walk.
Be careful they break in cars
One of Philadelphias most widely known and recognizable attractions! A great place to get some exercise, do some fishing, or just be a spectator to one of the many boating events. When the Sun goes down the moon comes up becomes a picturesque, even romantic place to sit or stroll.
Perfect place to go for a gorgeous view spring to early fall. And so much potential for Photography of Boathouse Row or up the steps and you get the skyline of Philadelphia.
A Philly landmark. Lit up at night. A must see.
Great place to realx with or without someone
Its a very pretty place. Sometimes it is very nicely lit up in the night. The river is also very pretty here as it ends up as a small waterfall at the Fairmont dam
Nice array of unique houses along the river. I wish there was a walkway in between the houses and the river so you can look at them as you pass by, but I guess the view from a road will have to do for that. Nice place to talk a walk by.
Its so cute and pretty and sporty. So nice.
This is a great row of boathouses.
Nice walk on the river to pass some time. Not much else. Theres a little cafe at the start, Cosmic Cafe, where you can get a drink and a snack.
Best place to walk!
Always a good run on the Drive
Nice place to go biking, jog or walk. Restaurant In area. Free parking. Bike rentals available too.
Great place for city dwellers to bike, walk, or run
Very peaceful and serene. At night its even more beautiful with everything lit up
Very Peaceful & Beautiful..
Very nice 4th of July Fireworks
Walking along the river is already great, but these historic buildings, carefully adorned with string lights, make it even better. Come early and you might catch to rowers practicing. Come later and you can see the Christmas lights dance off the water. Its a win win
Just beautiful to look at every time you go by. The lights at night are magnificent.
Great for walks and exercise
The views along this walk are beautiful. Its cool to share this space with so many others enjoying walks, picnics, bike rides, etc.
Beautiful view
Home away from home.
Excellent place on a sunny day to go for a walk down the Schuylkill river, or just grab a cup of coffee and people watch.
An iconic Philly must see . Make sure to see it both during the day, and at night, when each house is outlined in lights. Take in the riverside cafe next door and be sure to go to the Philadelphia Art Museum which is within walking distance. Tour the pump house at the water works while youre there as well.
Boathouse row is one of the most talked about city landscape in Philadelphia and when you visit youll be amazed
Stunning views. Nice path. Only negative thing - Bicyclists ride too quickly. You have to be careful that small children are protected.
Great place to walk
Beautiful place to take in the sun and sights next to the water
Great place to walk
I was at the boat house for Diner en Blanc. The whole atmosphere of the venue was beautiful. The backdrop was the river itself with the lights glistening off of the water refracting back at us the balloons the people the music. It was a beautiful event
We absolutely love going to this park. Our favorite spot is overlooking the water while relaxing on the grass. Therapeutic
Very pretty!! We enjoyed Diner En Blanc that night and the Delaware River along with the Boathouses as the backdrop made everything especially beautiful
A very nice area to run and bike.
Best view hands down!
Pleasant Aesthetic trail. Beautiful for walks, riding, etc.
A Philly classic - especially gorgeous seen from the river at night.
Me and my children had a fantastic time as usual.. We all loved it over 5 hours enjoying the great outdoors.
Nice place to sit and enjoy people watching. Pretty busy area with a local cafe just down the way. The houses were interesting to see but I would not count this as a must see in Philadelphia.
Very scenic
