A fun and inclusive theater for crew.
Excellent production of Buried Child. The sightlines are tough here so arrive early to get a good seat.
I went to see Barefoot In The Park and was thoroughly impressed by the caliber of the production. The acting was amazing all the way around and the small theatre space was well used. I wouldnt hesitate to go back and see another production. Special shoutout to Sam Gugino who played Victor Velasco and never ceased to bring laughter to the audience.
I saw a wonderful production of Purlie Victorious. The theater is rather small, and from what I saw of it, you would have a good view from any seat. Unless theres another entrance, it didnt seem to be wheelchair accessible, though.
Historical. Lovely venue. The play was well done, casting was excellent and wonderful directing.
Great little community theatre. Local spot. Been around for a long time and has some nostalgia to it. Worth a visit to see performance.
My family has been attending plays here for many years. Even though this is a community theater staffed by volunteers, you would never know it. The quality of the productions, acting, and sets are, in my opinion, of professional quality. In fact, I enjoy their performances even more than professional theater because I am always awestruck by how volunteers, who live full and busy lives, are able to put together so many tremendous shows throughout the year, with their sole motivation being a love and passion for what they do.How is it possible that my family and friends find Old Academy Players a generally much more enjoyable experience than Philadelphias downtown professional theaters? Not only are the plays given in a warm, friendly, attractive and intimate setting, but there is ample parking right in back of the building with no need to deal with the downtown parking hassles. On top of all this, the selection of plays they perform are usually fun and in good taste. All of this at just a fraction of the cost of professional theater: Ill take Old Academy Players every time ---- and I do!!
Wonderfully intimate playhouse that runs classic as well as modern productions.

Oldest community theater in Philadelphia, Over 95 years old. It is where a Princess Grace Kelly first got on a stage.
We have been attending performances for many year, and have been rarely disappointed. Today we saw whos afraid of Virginia Wolfand cannot stop raving!! The acting was brilliant.....worthy of a Broadway production. Kudos to the cast and crew.
