Local artists featured in changing exhibits, with info about each piece posted. I really enjoyed reading about each piece as I went through the museum. The sculpture outside is interesting, bizarre, and unexpected. A nice way to spend an hour on a Sunday afternoon for sure.

A wonderful local art museum with great accessibility/affordability to students. The exhibits are always thought provoking and relevant. I prefer the Woodmere to other art museums in Philly because of its small size, you can take in every piece without rushing.

Wonderful Victorian mansion converted to a museum, dedicated to local artists, with many cultural events. The director, Bill, is incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about the arts. Definitely a museum to visit with the family. Plenty of parking and beyond the must see ongoing exhibits a historical site with incredible architecture and a history worth learning.

The place is amazing and bursting with creative energy. The guides are knowledgable, friendly, helpful people. There are classes for every age. When we were there a 4th grade class from a school in Fishtown was enjoying their coloring class. We loved the African exhibit and the historical works from the 18th, 19th and 20th and 21st century. The sculptures in the front yard are wonderful and it is nice to have benches scattered about so you can sit and take in the place.

We were out for a weekend drive and went to this place near cherry hill, I think, the museum is not large took us a out an hour to see it all at a slow pace. I posted a pic of what I thought was an impressive portrait. The experience will depend on what special exhibit they have is about half the museum in our visit. But is very enjouable,, then you can just walk to the twoan5(about 10 mins) and grab anything to eat.

Quaint little gem hidden in the Chestnut Hill neighborhood of Philly. It was converted from an Old World Baby Mansion to an Eclectic Art Museum. Via eventbrite I discovered a Spring time Friday night Jazz series. They served TWO glasses of white wine wine & snacks for 25 bucks/non-member tix. I saw some Latin Jazz featuring Panamanian born Giovana Robinsons Ensemble. The music was very good and her red dress did wonders for my eyesight.

Certainly worth checking out. Found the curation of the collections were really interesting and varied. The grounds of this place are gorgeous. The trees on the property are arbored in such a way that they stand as additional natural sculptures on the lawn. The most contemporary section of the museum housed mostly work by artists with a Philadelphia connection (perhaps this was even true for the other rooms). Delighted by the reflections on the time since Stonewall that I imagine were integrated in time for Pride. Only desire would be to see more works by womxn.

This is quite a good small regional art museum at the top of Chestnut Hill. They have some good special exhibitions, a big outdoor sculpture garden, and a surprisingly fine permanent collection--check out the Church and the Cropsey, as well as the Herzog Florida landscape. I was a little annoyed that their Veramin Persian rug wasnt on display--interesting piece. The house setting is agreeable, and even the gift shop is good. If you are in the area it would be a big mistake not to visit the Woodmere.
