My parents took us to Wentworths since I was a little girl, it Instilled a love of history for me! Now that I’m grown with great grandchildren it’s been a family tradition, one I hope will continue after I’m gone.My father knew Mr Wentworth, it would be a shame to let anyone pressure you into changing the name.

This was a darling museum with a range of exhibits. At only $5 per person, its a steal, and that ticket covers you for a full week. The punk exhibit was my personal favorite. I had no idea that Pensacola had such a scene for that. My Dad preferred the postcard exhibit, and my brother loved the sci-fi floor. All of this, plus its in historic Pensacola which is funky and beautiful. If you have a little bit of time, its worth the stop.

Do not miss the chance to visit the AMAZING group of museums and guided tours available in Pensacola. The rich and storied history is played out with the living villiage, whos hard-working participants answer all your questions and laugh amiably at (what I am sure) are the same jokes and remarks the hear many times a day. We had the pleasure of being on our guides first ever tour, (feel terrible that we didnt insist on getting her name!) and she transported us with her knowledge and humor to what it was like in the beginnings of Pensacola. All staff was amiable, helpful, and engaging. Fun and educational for all ages, plus the price is hard to beat: $8, per adult for SEVEN DAYS access to almost every museum in town.

This is a nice museum. My boyfriend and I took the kids Saturday about 6:00 p.m. Learned quite a bit. Its three stories high. Everyone enjoyed. We didnt do the guided tour. Customer service was polite. They gave me four passes and said that the passes are good for seven days. I asked if I can use thenm for the other museums in downtown Pensacola he said yes.

I knew Mr Wentworth as a kid when his museum was in Ensley . What they have now is a joke and Mr Wentworth would roll in his grave !... And if UWF removes his name because of something in the past, Ill never support UWF ever again . Period !

Very helpful information regarding the history, geological and human, of the area. The rest will be of interest to folks that like antiques and unusual things. An example is a mummified cat found inside a wall of an old building being demolished nearby...we chose not to go find the cat, though that exhibit was described as quite popular at one time.

Lots of interesting items. Whole sections dedicated to the Blue Angels. My rating, however, was a result of what was outside the building; admission includes a guided tour of historic homes and church. Our guide (I want to say her name was Vivian) was EXCELLENT; very knowledgeable, entertaining and kept a good pace. The tour is age restricted.

T.T. Wentworths original museum in Ensley was a favorite place to visit when I was a child. So nice to know his eclectic collection has been preserved rather than ending up in a dump after his death. This collection is a great history of Pensacola, and I highly recommend it to anyone interested in local history.

So, this museum has a lot to take in - but it’s basically a love letter to Pensacola’s maritime history and its local culture. I recommend go upstairs first and check out “Trader Jon’s”. The curators persevered and relocated an entire bar on the second floor of the museum that was once a town mainstay because of its eccentric owner, Martin Trader Jon Weissman. Check out the bar and get a laugh out of all the old license plates, knick knacks, and whatnot. It’s fun learning about Mr. Weissman. Too bad you can’t order a drink. But you can pose and take a picture like we did.
