Nice little hike to explore the past. No amenities and day use only. You dont want the spirits to come looking for you after sunset...
Ive been enjoying this stop since I was a child. Anyways peaceful.
Its very interesting and so cool, thank you Arizona
So much fun and information. Nice little stroll into the past. Way past. These ruins go way way back. And great place to explore and use your imagination of what people did in those times.
Not much to it, but what there is is great to see! mountain bike friendly, and nobody else around for Miles, just My style.
Short hike that is paved. Lots of signs to read about the history. Great place to streach your legs on a road trip!
Beautiful place with a lot of history.
Nice little hike very informative. Liked the scenery.
I liked the placards explaining the site. Parking is plentiful and close to the ruins. The paved path created a nice stroll with the dogs. The scenery around the ruins is gorgeous. I visited a second time to take a friend back with me.
The info signs are informative, but there really isnt anything to look at to see of the ruins.
At the this time all trails and forest are closed due to fire danger.
Nice little area. Great history. (I posted pics on a previous post).
Take a walk through history around the trails of surrounding an ancient village. Very easy, paved walk so perfect for any age. Also close to the entrance of Shoofly Canyon, which is amazing for horse back riding or quads. Great place to watch the sun set, or walk your dogs.
Loved the history and its not a long walk and the views are awesome i recommend it
Peaceful, quiet, a place to reflect
Good place for those who cant walk a lot...the ruins are very low to the ground. Takes your imagination and patience. But definitely good history.
Very interesting and low traffic area
Nice place for a short walk. Quiet. Watch out for snakes at one point the trail is very skinny and one time when we were here there was a rattlesnake seen by another couple.
A short easy nice walk through where there are LOTS of rocks that were used to build their village. Although they are all now just piles of rocks it is amazing to wonder how they ever got so many rocks to that location. No one there but us. There are signs along the trail with information about certain locations. I think wheelchairs could go here as the trail is paved.
Very peaceful. No cost to get in. Nice easy walk.
Neglected. Wish its upkeep had been maintained. Might still be an amazing archaeological site.
Beautiful spot, although the ruins really are that--but considering that these ruins have been there for nearly 1,000 years, its hardly possible for it to be otherwise. Lots of signage to explain what the rocks mean, and the whole site is just fascinating.
Good place for understanding how native Americans lived.
Beautiful
A complete waste of time, not even a bathroom. Literally just a walking path and placards about what used to be and speculation. No ruins, no anything. Waste of taxpayer dollars. Not worth polluting the earth by having to get the car back up to highway speeds from 0mph.
I live right down the street - this really isnt that big of a deal. Not much to see of the site itself but its a great place to shoot a few panorama shots of the Rim.
Some Indian house stone remains. A nice little diversion for a half hour
Fascinating ruins reveal a thriving native American community NE of Payson, about half way up the Rim.
Cool historic walk
Great walking path detailing history of the region.
Interesting, nice easy walk, lots of information to read, no structures left to see
Nice. but you really have to look for the ruins.
Awesome!!!!! If you follow paths Right see some Indian houses built its amazing how they put the mud in the rocks to build things up Well Preserved. Gorgous Scenery just Ahhhhhhhh. Can do lots of walking . in Gods creation. Love it
Important site, reasonably intouched
Great little trail with some neat sights.
Very well marked ruin but dirt paths were confusing. Also much of the ruins are just piles of rocks. There are signs along the trail.
Peaceful place great photo ops
Kinda boring n very little to really look at
Was not impressed with the area from being outta state and reading that people loved it and to be let down my grandmother said yea this is just signs and no actual ruins not even rebuilt ruins excapt for a wall week it said it was a wall.
Short, easy path for hiking around
Loved this adventure!
Nothing to see, just dirt
Beautiful walk
Must for the kids
Part of history
Eh
Great views
Cool place.
Beautiful !
Very cool ruins
