A small museum that highlighted by the personnel, who were really great, knowledgeable and super friendly. Our guide to the Zane Grey single room cabin was very funny and had all sorts of stories keeping us interested. Many of Greys Western books were written in this cabin. Nice stop, a lot of history and big dose of hospitality. If you have a chance this is a good place to stop and enjoy.

Its a replica of Zane Greys original cabin which was burned down in the Dude fire. Out guide was very knowledgeable and it was a very interesting tour. My mother has always loved his books so it was a special stop on our trip. The surrounding park and lake would be a nice place to spend some time.

He wrote all those books in this little dinky place? I love his books. Now I think I know why he wrote them. Boredom does strange things.

My wife and I were looking for something to do since we had decided not to hike a nearby trail on account of the weather. Didnt really expect much given what we saw on the website but were very pleasantly surprised. Very cheap ticket for a fully guided tour through a two story museum. The tour guide had first hand experience of the recent history and was extremely pleasant to listen and converse with. Great little gift sho too boot. We didnt even visit the Zane Grey Cabin (since we hadnt heard of him before). We might come back for that next time. This museum is a nice little addition to any Payson visit.

Visited this lovely spot Oct 15th 2016. The museum is part of a beautiful park, past an historic part of Payson. We had 2 tours; Zane Greys replica Cabin and the Rim Country Museum, lead by terrifically knowledgeable docents. The museum has a remarkable collection that is presented in a series of displays or vignettes that were very enlightening. And thumbs up for the accessibility of the site! They have a ramp and chairlift that made our visit easy. The gift shop nearly entranced us as much as the museums!A great day trip from Phoenix area.
