Currently closed due to covid. No bathrooms in the park since the welcome center is closed but there are still rangers around to answer questions.
While we randomly found this historic site to view during our visit to the city, we truly found the attendant at the visitors center to be a pure joy. He spoke fast and covered all the important points of the grounds and was quite humorous and enjoyable to interact with. Dont just go look at the Falls, go to the visitor center and talk to them as well. You will not regret it.
This place doesnt have anything, dont waste your time going all the way there. The trail is soooo short and dirty. The photos are misleading, the falls are just not as great as you expect
Beautiful place just wish you could get closer to the base and water wasnt so polluted
This place is unknown to many people. Combination of scenic beauty and rustic architecture. Nice place to relax. Though there is nothing much to do here. There will be guide tour happening in every 1 hr and they have very nice museum which shows the history of that place.
A wonderful historical landmark that dates back to our founding members. And the falls are only second to Niagra Falls on this coast.
Beautiful views of the falls. You can park at the visitors center and make your way across the street to the trails for the falls. The falls are incredible when you are standing on top of them looking down. You will be able to easily find a rainbow if the sun is out. There are several benches you can sit on to watch the falls from the side. The visitors center had a clean bathroom and many items for sale. The Rangers were very helpful when asking questions and asking about nearby points of interest.
An underrated place in New Jersey. This place is pretty close to New York and going here feels like youre so far from NY city. The falls are nice and the place around the falls are kept relatively clean. There is a bridge right above the falls which allows you to get a full view of the falls. The limited benches and tables are nice for a picnic. After hours the place gets full of the local kids hanging out, which makes it a little uncomfortable.
Its a free quick trip from the suburbs. The falls are beautiful and quite impressive. On a Sunday afternoon lots of families were strolling about the grounds eating ice cream from a nearby ice cream truck. Great photo ops. Parking is free and so is admission.
Great place, easy parking and easy walk. Come on a sunny day and catch the rainbow off the falls.
This place nice view of fall and well maintained. You can walk at bottom or can watch from the top. Free parking at the visitor center
Great views, volunteer guide was really awesome. A lot of history behind this place. The waterfall is around 23 meters high. Good to visit in the morning, when not many people are there.
Small office and visitor centre for the great falls and hiking area.Has souvenir gifts. Restroom. The guy working there was nice and every helpful in the info we needed to know about the area.To see the falls you must walk over the bridge or u can drive over to the other site down maple street where its free parking and easier/less walking access to see the falls.Enjoy the views.
Love this hidden gem especially after a good storm the falls are so powerful. In the spring beautiful flowers are in bloom
Beautiful natural wonder in a historic urban setting
I was there after a good week of rain so the river was at flood stage and the falls were off the charts. The water coming over the falls almost hit the wall of the gorge on the other side and because it was about 20 degrees, there was ice all over the place. It was beautiful.
It is naturally Buitifull you must go.
Good looking falls. Smells like sewage. Spray from the falls gets on those that cross the bridge and smells particularly bad.
Spectacular! The river was roaring through at the time creating a rainbow that was definitely picture worthy. Make sure you go down the road to the Paterson Museum as well. They can tell you all the points of interest at the visitor center.
Great place to pick up some fruits and vegetables. But some peaches were hard you cant eat. I would recommend this place but call them to check what is ready to pick...
The scenic view of the waterfalls and Bridge was fantastic. It will be even better once the construction of the parking area is completed. There is temporary parking just before getting to the bridge going left. However, the area doesnt seem to be in the best area. Seem like there are way too many police and ambulances passing by along with many unseen but heard through the couple hours of being here. The crowd immediately at the site seems like honest Travelers however others seemed a bit sketchy.
My friends were surprised to learn that we have a fall in NJ. There is also a museum nearby and trails to enjoy.
We visited after the visitor center closed (by 5 minutes) but there were brochures outside so we could still learn about the falls and walk through the park. The surrounding neighborhood felt sketchy (we even walked the old canal and ran into some teenagers behaving questionably; lots of litter and grafitti) but the falls and the park are a surprising gem. The park is under construction so we had a little trouble following the path laid out in the brochure.
Beautiful park to visit. Had a great time. Would be a great place to bring some food and eat lunch while enjoying the view.
Outstanding tour guided by Paterson HPC Gianfranco Archimede
Beautiful place full of history. People are nice and welling to help. I recommend it.
An historical significant location that can be underwhelming if you ONLY plan to see the falls. Check out the walking tour, the local museums, and enjoy the beauty and peacefulness of the waterfalls. The park rangers are always so very helpful and informative.
Convenient for a restroom great for a guy a lifty items to buy saying right balls.
Fantastic start to our visit. Very informative. Grab a map to make sure you do not miss anything. Some construction going on at the moment.
Who would have guessed that Paterson NJ would have such an interesting history. It was planned by Alexander Hamilton as Americas first industrial city. The eclectic museum is a must see.
A true hidden jem. Full museum 1 block away, free, on the history of how the falls literally drove the wheels of industry. Amazing pre-electric computerized silk loom, as must-see. Dont go at night, Bad neighborhood.
Beautiful Falls and very friendly park rangers informative and Im hoping soon the development will be complete and also this can generate a lot of revenue if made a place that can be comparable to Niagara falls
Hidden gem in old Town. Who knew a set of waterfalls existed here? Kinda cool to just visit watch and zone out. Dont expect a lot though. Just plan to come and stare if thats your thing or else you will be in and out of there in 15 minutes.
If you are anywhere near Paterson, you must make time to stop here. Paterson is full of history for any history buffs and the falls are beautiful for any nature lovers. Visit the museum and visitors center.
Super cool. Highly recommend!
Wow!
Nice place to relax a evening. 30 mins is more than enough to roam around here
Absolutely beautiful
Great park. Be sure to goto the museum and visitors center to learn about the proud history of Paterson.
Small museum, interesting documents and history. Easy to fine. No charge. Good places to eat around.
Getting attention from Gov. Park Service.Tours, gift shop more cool thing to look forward too. Awesome waterfall.
Cool place, wish all the trails were open, but icy in some
Very nice place and the only waterfall in the USA.
Such a Beautiful View, great place to take a girl on a date or hang out with the crew.
Showings off some of N.J. wonderful nature.
These falls should be more famous than they are.
Small place clean very polite staff a national treasure free parking bathrooms
Good but can be better
Beautiful falls. Wish i went there earlier that day
Second Niagara falls
The Great Falls is a great place to relax in Paterson. It is also next to Hinchliffe Stadium, which will one day become something again. It is nice to sit here on the benches and wonder where the city has been and where it is headed. The negative: it is not the cleanest place in the world. However, it is bearable and does provide peace.
Breathtaking amazing
Nice place to visit hopefully by next summer it will be finished
A gem of Paterson for sure!
Great place to visit to learn about local history and see the magnificent falls.
Great spot! Beautiful!
Hard to believe it is in the middle of an urban area.An undiscovered wonder. The falls are amazing and the nearby area is full of historic buildings. The have a nice walking tour app
The hidden gem of Paterson
It is gorgeous how it has been redone. Silk City!!!
Beautiful, but it could use some trash clean up.
Great waterfalls in New Jersey! No. 1 to visit in New Jersey.
A nice little visitors center where you can get information about the park and its history. There is also a souvenir shop inside here, and public restrooms.
