Lambert Castle Museum

My experience in this time, is so different, because i was visited to do the test for covid. But everything is very organized the staff and the police officers they make great job.

The Crritmas craft festival at Lambert castle was terrific! Great ornaments and decorations for the Holidays. We had a bite at the Cafe on the 3rd floor Soups were delicious and pies hit the spot. And the views from the grounds are nice. All in all a worthwhile trip.

What an interesting site. Right in our own backyard! Some of the rooms inside the castle were inaccessible, but there was enough there to see not to even notice. Featuring 3 levels of historic memorabilia. Worth the visit and the short drive up to the tower uo on thr mountain acoss from it.

Castles are a part of history we dont see everywhere. Nice to see and know the basic story behind the owner/builder.

Great views from the museum. Some very interesting decoratice arts collections. A lot of original architectural details are intact, including many original wood carvings, furniture and paintings as well as sculptures. Just minutes from the Great Falls definitely with a visit.

I went during the holiday shop. Which had personalizing options for ornaments and other things. It had a wide array of items. Homade things and candy, sports team memorabilia, antiques, scarfs, gloves, coats, and unique jewelry. There is an elevator you have to walk through the first floor to get to. It has a food truck supplying a Cafe set up on the 3rd and highest floor. I loved looking down into the other 2 stories while sipping on cider.Ordinarily it is a museum with statues, paintings, stained glass and and information on local history. The outdoor terrace has a gorgeous view of the NYC skyline. What seems like the backyard has a park or hiking trail I havent been on yet.You can arrange to take professional pictures there and I saw an elegant proposal being set up by the fountain with rose petals and candles.Unfortunately the museum will be closed for necessary renovations soon.

An amazing place to visit in the winter. Bring the family and see some history.

Attended 2019 Christmas Holiday Craft Fair yesterday. Beautifully decorated, Winter Wonderland and gifts for all ages and all people. First time there and enjoyed myself tremendously. Holiday cafe located on third floor. Craft fair ends tomorrow, dont miss it! Come out and support the Passaic Historical Society. A little warm inside, dress lightly, plenty of free parking. Tickets at door $6.00.

Went to the Christmas craft fair. The castle is not open for exhibition because of the craft fair and everything has been removed due to the fact that they will be closing as of January 1 2020. Renovation will take up to 3 to 5 years. I love going to this Castle when it is open for visits and actually seeing the castle itself and just being in there I really love and being outside on the grounds. The people at the craft fair werent really that friendly except for the greeter at the door and the prices were normal for craft items and some were very reasonable My favourite was the Vintage Room items and ceramic light trees for sale. They have some very beautiful vintage stuff and great baked items. They will hold a craft fair at another location over the next few years until the castle reopens. As for me I cant wait for the castle to reopen again. Btw the wine and cheese event was only on opening night not now. I did buy a raffle tickets for money giveaway.

Visiting the Christmas Show. What a beautiful castle. It needs serious rehabbing and will close to the public after Dec. 1st for 3 years. Recommend to anyone looking for gifts, decoration, and inspiration. What a lovely way to spend a couple of hours

Holy smokes so happy to have gone here, the castle is under renovation currently however it is a very nice view from the outside.

A hidden, well preserved mansion from the turn of last century, with a lot of silk-baron related history. Worth stopping in, exploring, and supporting!

This is a good place to visit after visiting the falls. The man who built this earned his money in the silk industry of Paterson. The first floor has original and period correct furniture. The floors, ceilings, and fireplaces are original and beautiful. There is a small admission charge which goes to funding the museum. The grounds are beautiful to walk through and not very extensive.

Nice to visit during Christmas season

A quaint little photo-friendly spot with lots of interesting historic content! The drive to it is very scenic. Plan to spend 1 to 2 hrs once there. Take the tour if you like vintage decor & architecture. Enjoy the views outdoors from different angles. So interesting & well worth the visit!

This place is beautiful.

Excellent place, amazing history, great for family or even a date

Been living in area for 42 years and never once went inside. I took my two boys and we made it an adventure. It was awesome to see that a lot of the original furniture was still inside the castle. A lot of interesting things like older silk machines, how the dyed the silk and the history a Paterson. Passaic county did a great job restoring it.

The castle is beautiful and the surrounding area is even more so. I loved climbing around and looking at the beautiful view and landscape. Please know they do charge admission if you want to actually go into the castle.

Go here right after Thanksgiving and this place will get u rt in the Mood for Christmas! Soothing Xmas music while u brouse their massive 2 floors of Xmas everything! They also have little Free tastings while u browse, as well as Lunch on the 3rd floor. * Note: the Lunch is Not free, however. It is right Inside the Castle but again.. Go early after Tksg because they do Not stay Open but for a couple weeks after Tksg, before they Close up. U Can also Google, Lambert Castle Christmas, for even More Info about this place!

Great place. My sister had her wedding reception here. Photos came out amazing!

Beautiful castle. Great place to visit and walk the grounds. Will be back to tour the museum and take more photos once the leaves grow on the trees.

An amazing experience that brings you back in time. It does a great job capturing the history of Paterson and Passaic County.

Amazing. Simply amazing. Beautiful and educational all year long. We came from Florida for the Christmas displays this year. Picked up some fantastic breads and jellies along with some ornaments. Nothing is over priced and the small personal setting for their cafe was fantastic as well. Food was great . Reasonably priced and friendly.I would recomend for any family. Kids and adults will enjoy the visit.

Great place to take your wedding photos or engagement shots. You can capture the amazing view of New York city at sunset. Offers a lot of parking spaces that makes it more convenient than any other locations. I have come here so many times for pictures and everytime the results are awesome.

This place will always hold a special place in my life because its were I proposed to my now fiance!! The grounds and Castle is beautiful and its a really nice place to take pictures for any occasion. Its nice to see that its still maintained and turned into a museum for people to go check out. Who doesnt love a little bit of history?

Interesting and beautiful place with a lot of history, and incredible decoration all over the place. Details and details with very good taste. A must go place in Paterson New Jersey. Take a few hours and enjoy (of course if you enjoy decoration, and a lot of great paints in their walls). Good free parking, incredible view of New York, and New Jersey. No flash or brigth ligth allowed, so take in count that.

Christmas shop is nice and so beautiful inside. If you go to the 3rd floor grab a coffee and a bite to eat. Closes on Dec. 3rd but it should stay open for at least another week to shop.

A beautiful wedding factory. My girlfriend and I have visited many times to take photos and the grounds are gorgeous.If you can slip in between weddings to take a peek inside you will not be disappointed. The landscape is only paired by the wonderful castle interior.More than enough parking and easy to find, Lambert Castle will impress you or marry you off in under 15 minutes!

Beautiful views of the area when you venture outside.

This was our first time to Lambert Castle which is now a museum. Have many beautiful and interesting items and art on display. Plus the detailing in the building itself is amazing. A nice way to spend a couple hours!

Very nice place but the two girls behind the counter could care less whether anyone was there and decided to just talk amongst themselves and briefly take our money no one said goodbye or indifferent

The castle is a wonderful place to visit. The architecture is something to see. I always enjoy the Holiday Boutique. They have events all the time! I believe all money goes to the maintenance and repair of the castle. Its a treasure of a place!

Great place for photos... but if you want to do a photo shoot here, there will be many (many) others with the same idea... best bet go early in the AM. And the museum is a great place to visit also.

Beautiful restored mansion dating back to Pattersons silk city Times. Caretaker staff offered great history and we attended a wonderful woodwind concert

Visited only from outside as it open at 1pm. Gardens were nicely maintained. Castle is small as compared to what youll see in other parts of the world. Theyre is a hike next to Castle parking which takes you to the top of mountain and had good views...

Beautiful place I go every year and pick up a least an item to add to my collection. You will fall in love even has a little cafe to get a snack pick up homemade bread.

Only walked around outside. Its nice to see castle in Paterson. Kids loved it and thought it was cool. Very well maintained and kept from outside.

Although Ive lived in NJ most of my life, I only learned about this castle about 5 years ago and finally took the time to visit. The castle was cheerfully decorated for Christmas, which added to the charm. There are many period furnishings and decorative objects around the castle. The signs provide interesting insight into Mr. Lambert, as well as his family, business and general industrial life during Patersons heyday. The exterior and the grounds are well maintained, and the interior is nicely preserved.

Very interesting historical building and historical research centre.

The castle itself is a nice little attraction. If you are in the neighborhood and have sometime to spare, its worthwhile spending half an hour or so. They also host events, We recently went there on a Sunday afternoon to see an Opera which was a wonderful experience.

Parking was terrible but once you get a spot its well worth every penny so many things to see so much Christmas decorations what a beautiful castle had a great time and the coffee and cakes are good to.

I have a passion for the Arts. So glad to be a Patersonian.

I think it is a treasure. Love this place.I take my family there at least once a year.The people are wonderful, but it is often hard to get someone on the phone if you want to participate in any of the events that they host. I would go more frequently if it was more user friendly.

Beautiful place full of history that open a window into a piriod of greatness that once the now stigmatized Citiy of Paterson live. Place has great yard for relaxing and have a pleasant time with family, friends or just by oneself
