My daughter has been at this gym almost 3 years with over 6 different coaches, the latest one threatening her (she is 9), the staff is unfriendly and the gym has declined significantly in the past 6 months. One of the teachers was 14 and had them run laps the majority of the time. Not a good fit and need more stability with staffing.
If you are looking for a gymnastics center that takes young kids through high school, this is a good gym! Our 8 year old daughter goes here and she really enjoys it. There are teams here that compete. There is also a large number of make gymnasts that train here and from what Ive seen, they are very well trained. But Im not a professional gymnasts.... So go see for yourself.Only down side that weve seen so far are 2 things. First, if your child isnt on a competing team, they dont train as hard or advance as fast. Second, the seating to watch your kids isnt very comfortable... But thats less important really.
This post is mainly aimed towards my kids’ tumbling instructor, Lexi. She is so great with the kids. She inspires the kids to do better. They pick a tumbling goal and a reward (soda, donut, cookie, etc) and when they reach the goal she gives them the reward purchased with her own money. She also comes out to talk to the parents after every tumbling class to explain what the kids are working on.
I really like the way the instructors support and help the kids do their best!
Our kids have been a part of 20 MAC since 2009.Over the last 7 years weve experienced summers filled with team outings to amusement parks, swimming pools and family BBQs; to winters random celebrations and holiday parties. The coaches are exceptional. They are not only producing elite gymnasts, but also instruct these kids on life skills; self respect, support & respect for their team, discipline to work hard and the importance of being considerate to others. The coaches are always accessible and communicate constantly with parents, keeping us informed of any challenges our kids may be experiencing and goals they may have set. This is a supportive community that we are proud to be a part of, that our kids love to attend, and that we encourage anyone looking for a place to call home - to join.
To start, when my daughter, aged 10 started, she was in a group that, at times consisted of 1 girl about half her age. She did however get put into a bigger group and enjoyed it for a while. When we decided to give gymnastics a break, we let them know but they had to have it writing to pull her out and then we had to continue paying for 30 more days.
This gym became or new home when our other gym closed its doors. It was hard finding a new gym, but they welcomed us with open arms. They are definitely a family oriented gym. The recreational classes are always full, the boys team is one of the best Ive ever seen in my many years of gymnastics, and the many options for girls to compete at many levels is amazing. Girls can compete in USAG (more hours of training and competitions) or Xcel program (less hours but still able to compete). They have brought in coaches from across the country to build a strong, solid program for all gymnasts. 20 MAC is our home away from home.
They are so great with younger kids!!! Our daughter is in gymnastics here and loves it!
My boys love the Ninjanastics class.
Daughter has been going there for 2 years, her growth and gains of confidence have been wonderful.
