I am a middle school student who has attended this school for nearly three years. And here’s what I have to say about it.I like the fact that we have iPads, but I feel like electronics are used too much as a way of teaching, rather than us actually handwriting notes or something like that. The only reason why I’m complaining is because we are so constantly on the iPads, (all school day and then coming home and doing homework on it as well.) several students, including me, have had horrible headaches and eye strain by the end of the day.My first year here was pretty okay, but the teaching is horrible and I don’t remember a single thing. I enjoy the arts program, but I feel like it’s more of the main focus rather than academics. I’ve been to another arts-based school before, and they included lots of art related things, but we still got all the regular education too.My second year was horrible. Many of the students, (and I understand every school comes with mean kids, but a majority of the students here have horrendous behavior) act privileged and rude towards everyone, including staff. I was constantly picked on by the students who got picked up in a fancy car by their rich golfer dad. I’m still currently in my third year, which I can’t really complain about because of COVID-19 and all of the new obstacles that have come with it.I want to take a minute to talk about the discipline. Lots of the kids have rude behavior and talk back to teachers, or constantly break rules that are easy to follow, just because they think they can get away with it. And they most certainly do. But for some reason, this behavior comes with zero consequences, and yet, if you wear your formal day shirt untucked there’s a 90% chance youre going to get a detention.Uniforms aren’t that bad—I don’t understand why kids complain about them. The school has had no problem with you wearing an off-brand polo, just as long as it’s one of the color options and still looks similar to the schools. And for pants, I just wear black leggings from old navy. I’ve attended the school for two and a half years and nobody has ever mentioned anything about my uniform. As for formal day, all you need is the formal shirt. You can wear a black skirt or dress pants that are off brand just as long as they look similar, just like the regular uniform. Most of it is comfortable and I like that they have a pretty wide variety of colors for a uniformed school, as well as cardigans and hoodies. Most of the teachers are pretty nice, I just personally think that not all of them are fit to be teachers. Other than their lack of discipline, most of them are nice and try their best, which I appreciate. Although, it seems like a lot of them choose favorite students, which is completely not okay. And a few of them seem to go out of their way to point out things that could be embarrassing to a student. There’s a teacher in particular who is lgbtq-phobic, and constantly misgender kids or calls them their dead names, even when they’ve asked for them to stop.Driveline! Just like the uniforms, I don’t understand why kids complain about this. I honestly have never had a problem with it, and driveline is better than what I had to do at my elementary school—stand outside and wait to see one of my parents cars for 30 minutes.Other than that, PPA is an okay school, just watch out for the privileged white kids (which is like 50% of the middle school), and always tuck your formal day shirt in, unless you want detention. Oh and also, don’t wear non PPA jackets because the teachers will be up your butt about it until you take it off, like it’s your fault that your cold.

It’s pretty ok as far as middle school goes. Mrs. Robinson keeps apparently deadnaming and misgendering a student behind their back and in front of them which is NOT ok in the slightest. Keeping up with homework for some classes is a nightmare, but the students and the teachers here are all generally ok to others.

There is nothing wrong with the school. The school made a choice of wearing uniforms everyday. Most people hate it, I don’t. I even like formal days. The school is also very nice, and lets there be free dress of choice the first Friday of the month. They also have fun classes, after school activities, and nice teachers.

As a former student I can tell you that I loved it. My little sister went with me she stayed longer than I did but she also loved it.Parents if you got a kid thats into the performing arts this is an amazing place to let your kid go and learn and grow not only in academia but also in the arts. Parker Performing Arts is also K-8 school so your child can take the time to find an art (s)he likes.

Tbh how I actually feel about this school is I think it’s ok, here’s why (in my opinion) 1: teachers have ups and downs mk 2: lunch, now the lunch is bleh (Except pizza day it’s good) I don’t like their Cheese sticks, and lunch ladies are not telling me what’s in the ingredients of the food they serve when I asked gravy for potatoes is bleh. 3: the homework often times makes no sense but can be easy at times and I get through it.4: (different) DRIVELINE, the line is way too small and narrow and people are need to be patient with my grandma(you know what I mean). 5: technology with iPads, iPads not cooperating most of the time and freezing up and not loading my work so I have to restart it . 6: dress code (not much to say about this one) why formal day cmon . 7:overall the school gets a 7/10. Ps: Micahi the mysterious. (Parking is a 6/10 )needs more space and sometimes names don’t get called for driveline.

I was a student first year 6th grader at this school 3 years ago. Most of the teachers at this school were NOT CERTIFIED teachers. I was only there for a semester and by the end I wanted to leave. There was lice and several illnesses going around that staff and faculty would not address. Learning there was not advanced and it was actually a distraction. This school does not prepare you for high school. While yes I learned the same content and was just fine when I switch to another school, it was still like saving my life. I remember days where it was too cold and they would still let us go outside, it would be snowing and they would keep us outside. This school was extremely unfair with dress code. Im friends with several students that went there from 6-8th grade and they all said they were very happy to get out. If you want some advice, dont consider sending your kids here. Send them to a good middle school like: Cimarron, Sage Wood, Sierra. Those schools are way better than this school will ever be. This school needs to get its act together. Also to all the people on here saying students are complaining because of homework, get in contact with people who were there since it was open. Its our opinions and our experiences we have reasons to be saying these things.

There are flaws in this school, but it is overall a good school if you are seeking a performing art experience. The best part of this school is the staff and facility. They all support each and every student in their educational needs. The only downside is that the stage makeup. They always reuse it each year, which is extremely unsanitary. The cleanliness of the school isn’t the best. But, the school opened in 2016, so I can’t criticize too much. The security is amazing; the security guard gets to know each and every student, which makes the students feel more safe. As a freshly graduated 8th grader, I personally think this school is a great school. Thank you for your time and service.

I went to this school in 7th grade and quickly moved on to a different school. The staff is inconsiderate and inexperienced I didnt learn anything when it comes to core classes and I didnt feel challenged. My public elementary school in California called Lisa J Mails had a far more organized and award winning performing arts program. The traffic control is a big problem and the higher level technology made learning a distraction and doesnt properly prepare students for high school where you will use a pencil and paper. Heed my advice and dont waste your time in this school.

I feel parts of this school is great. Yet, parts need improvement. Such as the uniforms. When I think of the Arts I think of expressing yourself. When everyone can only wear the same thing your not expressing yourself. One of the reasons many students were interested in this school was because of self expression. Not being able to express yourself at a performing arts makes as much sense as drawing and coloring a rainbow in black and white. Which is why I therefore believe that not being able to express yourself through your clothes, let alone your hair isn’t fair. Especially if teachers are able to wear “free dress”.

Great school. My daughter is thriving at the school and is happy to be there. She is in the gifted program and I was concerned if should be challenged and she is. They keep her engaged, giving her work that is at her level. She is physically getting lots of exercise with her dance class, lots of music with her orchestra class and is engaged with her musical theater class. I couldnt ask for a better school.

I Currently go to this school, I am in 6th grade and have been here since they first made it, I LOVE IT! My old school was terrible this is was better, there are goods and bads.Good things: They fixed their driveline so it is better now, most of I teachers are nice but some are mean and some give too much homework, I think the amount of homework we get it fine, we have time in homeroom but most people mess around in homeroom. We get free dress every month and the uniforms are pretty good, there are so many options I love PPA. We don’t have too much bully problems. They also do good with rewarding people who S.H.I.N.E (strength, humility, integrity, Nobility, Empathy) which is a big thing here.Bad things: Block days, they are painful and I don’t like them but you can make it through, also, some teachers are mean and give too much homework. We have too short of lunch time.the hallways are always crowded, personally, I didn’t like elementary school I like middle school a lot though.I RECOMMEND DANCE TOTALLY the teacher (Mrs. P) is sooo nice and funny (same with her assistant Mrs. Jenness) She also gives us really good choreography and let’s us on pointe early. Dance performances are the only fun ones in my opinion.Overall, this is a great school, I totally recommend it for middle schoolers especially. I hope they make a high school.

As a student and staff child at this school, I have definitely had my experiences. Before you continue, I am not biased, and am telling the truth. I will be responding to multiple points made in other reviews:- Uniforms-Homework-Staff-DrivelineStarting with uniforms, most reviews I have seen about them is about stiffness. This could be easily discredited, as there are multiple different fabrics you can choose from. Most of these reviews are from the first year, and that was relevant because most were stiff. However, they fixed that problem. Another “problem” other students who have reviewed this place is that “we don’t get free dress but teachers do!” First off, teachers DO NOT get free dress, they have a dress code just like us. The uniforms are supposed to decrease bullying about clothes.Next up is a classic: Homework. Every kid complains about it. Though parents should know to dismiss these, there are still several reviews out there about it. Homework is necessary, and if there is too much between grades 5-8, guess what: that’s middle school. Most people who even have an hour of homework most likely do not use their homeroom period and class time to do it.Alright, now for another: Staff. You see a lot about staff having favorites. Although every teacher does have a group of students they are extremely friendly with, they do not let these people succeed more than someone else. As my mom is a teacher here, I can confidently say that I watch her grade. She will grade them fairly and does not prioritize any student over another. If a staff member actually did pick favorites, they would get fired rather quickly. Finally, driveline. Once again, most complaints about this were from first year, and this has long been fixed. Pretty simple. This really is a great school, and please take all reviews with a grain of salt. Thanks,Madeleine

This school has a very supportive range of middle school teachers. It is clean, and the dance teachers are incredible. The nurse has been an issue, not letting me take pain medications even with parents permission and when I was in visible pain. The classes range levels depending on the teacher, and the math and literature have groups and higher levels available, and are put into those groups depending on your STAR testing scores. The iPads are used in helpful ways and prevent students from losing their homework or forgetting it at home. It helps show responsibility because they have to charge it, and they are expensive, so you take good care of them. The office ladies are decently helpful, and provide a take to put things you drop off for your kid, such as a forgotten lunch or poster board. This school is perfect for middle school, for kids who have an interest in choir, ballet, modern/contemporary, some Latin dance, orchestra, band, and technology. They even provide a very fun movie making class, which is multimedia production. I suggest this school very much, just pack your own lunches.

I love this school, I started this year in 6th grade. Teachers are very supportive and help you learn to your best ability and grade you reasonably and give you chances to revise to fix your grade. The electives are my favorite part of the day. I have Guitar, theatre, and Modern dance. I’ve learned so much from every single on of these classes and I’m going to continue to go here. I also recommend this school to every kid that is getting into the performing arts hobby. There is a little girl drama but that’s something you can’t avoid anywhere. This school has been the best I’ve ever been to.

For those of you who have read reviews that have negative points on homework. I have had experience as a student in the school and I will tell you most of the bad reviews on this school are from kids who don’t take time in homeroom to do their work. If they don’t understand something if they ask there homeroom teacher for permission the student can go and clarify with the teacher teaching the subject on what’s going on in the problem. If the academic standards are not to your liking then take the time to do well on tests and you will get moved up to the next class. The school is a very good school with safety, the reasons why they don’t have free dress all of the time is because they want to limit the bullying. As far as the teachers go if the student takes the time to thank a teacher for what they do after class, listens to the teacher and is respectful they will do just fine. The people writing the reviews on teachers not being 100% all of the time I’m sorry you had a bad experience but if you look at everything teachers are humans too they have feelings and emotions and are aloud to do so if you have a feeling of hatred for someone because they are not being nice or respectful when you need their attention think about when you do the same thing that person was doing the chances of them being angry at you are of course high. Over all this school does have some flaws but it is a great school

To be honest the school is really disorganized. I feel like if they made the musical theater class to host entire musical productions, That would make sense for the musical theater in school and say mess theater so they can make like a play in the spring and a musical in the fall or vice versa. Only if the school had more caring teachers, I think the school would have been more of a very good environment for students. The security guard there is very very very very and one more time very rude too many students and practically abused when my best friends. I’ll have to say if the school could change one thing it have to be the whole entire program. I would appreciate if the school was actually after school program where they just have fun with performing arts and like just the extracurricular program instead of like a school that I would been awesome. Every student in school I’ve talk to and who still go there they said that they absolutely hate the program hate everything about it, I’m not saying I’m saying this I’m saying what other students say.My little brother also found some students were caught they being or doing drugs. That’s another proof of this responsibility of the teachers and staff. Or maybe they just can’t afford working security cameras. If the school had more care and protective services, It would’ve been a very safe place to be.

This school is the absolute worst school anyone could send their kids. The staff and facility are unprofessional, immature, rude, and overall horrible. The assistant principal called one of is students stupid and immature when they wrote out how they felt about this school. The best part about it was he said that to a peer of that student. Of course theyre immature there 13! But talking poorly about a scholar to another scholar is stupid and immature, you are 40 something and she is 13 you are supposed to be the adult. When a child was being bullied he punished her no he really punished her, he yelled at her and kept her in the office the entire day and then on top of that he yelled at her parents to. The Principal and Assistant Principal are not suitable for working at a school in anyway shape or form with the way they treat children and the best decision ive ever made in my life was leaving PPA. Please dont make your children suffer by taking them to this horrendous place.

I think most of these reviews aren’t true. If you have been on the internet you would know that uniforms stop bullying and if you were at the you would know that the staff doesn’t chose favorites. I go to the school and if the classes aren’t challenging the teacher would move you up a level. Many of these reviews talk about the: uniforms, staff, classes, homework and driveline. Also they talk about the negative but every school is going to have flaws even home schooling. Home schooling doesn’t teach kids people skills. I have a friend that comes from castle rock all the way to Englewood, if that’s not dedication I don’t know what is. I am a middle schooler here and love it. I just started this year in fifth grade. The teachers are amazing, I learn so much even though half the day is performing arts. I must say my dance teacher is one of my favorites, She is very kind and loves everyone. In middle school you have a lot more responsibility and here middle school starts in 5th grade. I think 5th grade is fine because we are ready for responsibilities. We have a locker and 8 periods. They honestly don’t give a lot of homework. I would recommend this school 100% They also have a huge theatre. All the teachers are very educated on there topic. They don’t have to have a teaching degree but almost all of them do. The only people who don’t have one are the performing arts teachers and that’s only like two. There are uniforms but they are very easy since girls can wear leggings, there are over 4 different shirt colors too. My favorite thing is that they have a lot of activities. My mom is organizing the school dance and already did the chili cook off. Last week there was a winter wonderland. On Nov. 27 we did the nutcracker and the mayor came. So this school is great for many reasons. Please don’t listen to the 1 star reviews.

At my old school, I would have been dress coded if I wore that. But, there are some good things at this school. I like the middle school orchestra teacher. One thing I like is how we go on field trips where we can have fun, and play lots of music. There are many other teachers that are good but then again, there are some bad teachers. Some are very strict, and expect their students to get A’s.In elementary school, the teachers are very nice. But, my sister was in 3rd grade last year, and she learned stuff that she learned in 2nd and 1st grade! For example, she learned fractions like 2/3 or 3/4. Also, the teacher she had last year didn’t teach her how to do multiplication which she will need to use very often in 4th grade and older.

Horrible experience. The teachers play obvious favoritism. Some students dont try in any class, submit all their work late and complain about every assignment and somehow still get As in one or more classes but children who come home visibly distressed over bad grades, put in all their effort, turn everything in on time and never complain or talk back and the teachers treat them horribly and hold them to unrealistic standards. The same treatment applies to bullying. Students can go home to their parents in tears begging not to have to go back to school and when they try to come to administration about the problem (like theyre told to do) the administration- in particular Robinson and Molfino- essentially takes the aggressors side. They phrase it like what my child dealt with is to be expected and that my child was just as much in the wrong. This wasnt petty conflict. This wasnt even bullying. This was harassment, causing my child horrible emotional pain and when she tried to do something about the situation the bully was believed over her. I withdrew my child from the school and will not be sending any of my children back, nor will I recommend this school to anyone else.

I am not a middle schooler unhappy with homework and writing this review. I am a parent of two children who attended this school. The teachers (only dealt with elementary) are wonderful. Kind, loving, and caring. There is a major issue though! Most of them do not have a teaching license! Are you shocked? Well get this...some do not even have a college degree! Is you are wondering how I found this out, its pretty simple.....THEY TOLD ME! I was told but dont worry Im working on it! Now think about your childs education, do you want someone who is unlicensed and uneducated teaching them? If you are a parent reading this and think that any of this is untrue, I beg of you to ask for yourself! Start with the arts team, thats who told me not even a full month ago!Next up......drinking on the job! There is a specific educator in this school who has a drinking problem. I have been informed by 3 parents that this was made know and yet she retains her job. A friends VERY reliable older child SAW her mixing a drink....IN CLASS! Described the shooter size bottle exactly and has never saw one before. Even repeated back the brand! If you walk through the halls you will some some educators sitting on their phones, which we all observed often last year! The best part of this school was taken away this year. They used to have assistants in every class. These assists were the kindest, most caring people I ever came across. Last year they started leaving and now are pretty much gone. Its truly tragic. The administration is AWFUL! Bullying is accepted in this school! We opted to pull our children out this year after seeing how poorly the school was ran. There is a governing board but they seem to step back and allow admin to run the show. They are running it into the ground! The administration also LOVES to talk about students, their parents, etc. This happens both in and out of the school. I volunteered many times for various events last year and was SHOCKED what I easily overheard! Last year a group of my friends were at a country club and overheard a high ranking admin speaking about the school, students, and may things that should be kept confidential! My oldest child was in 3rd grade last year and was being taught things he learned in 1st! This is not the educators fault in any way but it was horrible!I truly do recommend you see this school for what it TRULY is instead of blinding following. This is your childrens education, their future!

I will not be silenced by a bully. The administration at this school is highly corrupt and unethical. Jan Payne, the head of the PPA school board, is also highly irresponsible for refusing to intervene and she should most definitely lose her spot on the school board. I am currently a middle schooler who is new to this school. I’ll say it simply. The school showed promise. However, there are many flaws. They do not prepare kids for high school, nor do they for anything in the future. I was supposed to go into a gifted program, and the school pretended I wasn’t there. No one knew how to write an ALP. They lost my paperwork, and thought I went to a different school district. If you like libraries for kids to check out books, this school doesn’t have it. If you like gymnasiums, this school doesn’t have it. Teachers are good to an extent, though they give unrealistic time frames for work.Edit: I’ve finished my long year at this school. Where to start?Uniforms. The uniforms are a big problem here. The typical uniform consists of a button-up shirt with a collar. The shirt is probably the best part of this uniform, but the price is not. On the website, it states that shirts are around 20-30 dollars. Not a bad price, except you can find the exact same shirts at Walmart! For 10 dollars less! The pants are black dress pants, and are extremely easy to tear. Socks are tight, black, chin-high, and are also very uncomfortable. On the first Thursday of every month, it’s formal day. I have no idea why that is, and apparently the school doesn’t either. Either sex wears tight button-up white shirts with the logo directly on the right breast. However, the pants are the same for males, and black skirts for girls. I, a boy, can agree that these skirts are extremely short, and break the dress code as you cannot wear something shorter than where your fingertips reach. They are extremely easy to dirty, and they must be tucked in at all times, or they will give a lunch detention. For an untucked shirt. At some points, I feel like Jim Harbaugh, as we wear essentially what he does. (Look him up)Driveline!! I’ll make this one short. Driveline is a way of picking up and dropping off your kids, in which you drive through a small lane, while teachers/parents rush children to get out of their car, only to walk around the school, through the front, and upstairs.Sports? Gym? Library? Nonexistent. That’s it.Academics...as I sit, writing this review, thinking about what we learned, and my mind draws a blank. As a seventh grader, I learned about Mesopotamia, and got to listen to a podcast about rats and the Black Death. Meanwhile, I would constantly try to be keeping up with taking notes, which we wouldn’t use ever again. And then, Iready. Iready is an interactive cartoon, in which characters make attempts to teach you something pointless that you never learned in class, all the while talking slowly and repeating questions, not being allowed to answer them until they finish speaking. Even worse, this had to be completed a certain amount of times, and if you didn’t get over an 80% on their test, you had to redo the entire lesson. What’s good about the school? Well, the people were nice. A day after formal day, you could do free dress day. Their theatre and arts program is cool. That’s about it.Reflection: The arts are cool, so they live up to the name, but academics fall flat, as do teachers, time frames, and the school. Good luck newcomers.

My 2nd grader loves PPA! We’ve been at PPA since they opened. My daughter started there in Kindergarten.I would say my only complaints are with the small crowded hallways, and the Kindergarten classrooms were small, and for some reason it’s difficult for teachers to hang things on the classroom walls. They aren’t supposed to use tacks and things are always falling off the walls. I’m not sure if they’ve remedied this or not.To counter the poor design aspects, there are some amazing features, like the stunning theater, the awesome Science Lab, and art rooms! It’s too bad the architect didn’t have the necessary knowledge or experience or input from a design team that was experienced in designing elementary schools. It just feels a bit cramped in the hallways especially. I was surprised that classrooms didn’t have a counter top for teachers to prep work and store items underneath or sink or any large cabinets but possibly with additional funding changes can be made over the years to create better organization and flow.If you can look past my opinion of the architectural design flaws you can read all about all the reasons we LOVE PPA!!My daughter has adored her teachers. She LOVES the performing arts aspect. She loves the dance and tumbling.I think with any new school there will be hiccups and a steep learning curve but I’m impressed with the school overall. We love that our child’s learning experience is enriched with the Arts. We also LOVE the uniforms! Black bottoms, pink, red, white, gray, or black tops. Pick up and drop off are a breeze. Pick-up typically takes 15 minutes tops! Drop off is instant, very fast!!I imagine a lot of these negative reviews from disgruntled middle schoolers have a lot to do with hormones, entitlement, typical middle school age drama, and aren’t an accurate picture of the overall PPA experience. I think the teachers and administrators are doing their best and support from students and parents goes a very long way! I hope to continue to support PPA and hopefully the culture of the school will continue to progress and develop into an even more enriching, inviting, organized, academically challenging, amazing school!I fully believe that you get out of it what you put into it! I try to volunteer, I’m involved in my daughter’s school work progress, we attend school functions, we communicate with her teachers when needed, and we’ve always done our part as her parents to make sure she was where she needed to be academivally(and that started in preschool).Teachers, in general, do the best they can with very full classrooms and lots of different behaviors and needs. As parents, it’s our job to be involved in our child’s life and learning. It’s first our job to teach them character, integrity, respect, good communication, etc. but also to teach them basic academics in the home and prepare them for school. I think good sleep, good nutrition, excercise, very limited screen time(outside of homework), and healthy relationships are the key to happy, well rounded, successful students. Most of those things happen at home and are learned at home and the effects (positive or negative) trickle into the classroom.

This school is not very good. they focus more on the electives then they do on the academics and the office people are not very welcoming . it is to electronic. studies show that electronics are not good for the brain. when the kids are on i pads all day long and then get home to more electronics it is an issue . i think they need to address some issues. i wouldnt send my kids here again.

This school is so amazing, its big, the teachers are great, and everything is so organized! The teachers are never late, and the Arts are so amazingly different from anything else! They give you so many opportunitys to audition for hints and take classes to help build a resume!

Weve been here two years and are transferring to another school. While I do love the performing arts aspect of the school, I truly do, the academic side is lacking. There HAS to be a better balance to be effective for the student! The school tends to be chaotic and loud and it seems the kids get a bit unruly. They are not doing homework during homeroom period or during driveline. The school relies way too much on the ipads. I have nothing against learning technology, but when its the ONLY way they can do homework - its too much. (and not supervised as well as it should be either)Some teachers are absolutely a dream, great at communication and really care for the kids. I think the school has a great vision, but not follow-through.

This school doesn’t know how to run itself or control anything. I’ve been going to this school for two years and I hate it so much. I never thought school could be this bad. They don’t respect women and claim that girls should just get new clothes when they’re too small even though they be yelling at the little boys. So many kids think they are the most important kids in the world and of course teachers shouldn’t ruin dreams, but you need to take Alec Ybarra down a notch. One of my close friends had to take an English speaking test because she said she knew a little Spanish. They literally had an idea and they did it, but none of them are even qualified.

A lot of people are discrediting reviews like mine and others for being “middle schoolers upset with homework” This is not true. Also, please don’t copy and paste my review or anyone else’s.In May of last year I was accepted into Parker performing arts school right before we moved. I was so excited that I would finally be in an environment that could better my musical abilities and help me have an enjoyable eighth grade year in preparation for high school. On the first day of school I walked into a whole different school setting coming from a small school where my class was maybe 30 kids, I thought it would be easy to make friends because there is a large variety of kids here; I was sadly mistaken. I spent most of the first semester secluded and left out from the activities that took place on a regular basis i.e; sitting at the corner of the table talking to no one and standing against the wall for all but two times at recess out of the 180 days we were in school. I thought I would connect with people because of my traits and abilities but most of the time found myself not a part of the family that seemed to have been established so long ago (one year).About the middle of the year a lot of bad things started happening, this of course made me feel even more uncomfortable knowing that I could walk in the bathroom only to find kids vaping. The staff thought that they had this all under control but its obvious they didnt because every week a another kid would get suspended for the same thing. As the rest of the year went by kids sent inappropriate photos, left hate notes and continued to bully myself and others, even going as far as to draw a nasty picture of me with acne and looking crippled and holding a bible and sending it to multiple people.Although this and many other things occurred I didnt take it upon myself to notify the staff because although I enjoyed most of my teachers, the office staff would escalate it and I would have to deal with the retaliation from other students. I would always have to let myself know that This school can do whatever it wants, it will just give me more to laugh at when Im done with it just to keep me from losing all hope that this would ever be done.As the end of the year came nearer I reflected on how big of a joke this whole thing was. Im quoting one of my peers when I say this, it was literally a daycare. One of my thoughts on the school is that all of the parents with kids that were getting into trouble decided to send their kids here to shape them up but it ended up mixing a ton of bad kids to create more trouble together. As May came around the corner, I failed to do more performances there than at any other public or charter school Ive been to. The arts program was a train wreck the budget was minimal because they drained one million dollars on iPads last year which were completely irrelevant, people just ended up abusing their privileges and by the end of the year probably half of the websites were blocked; just print a worksheet, kids are already staring at electronics enough right? They didnt prepare the eighth graders for high school at all, its going to hit all of us hard next year when we actually have a decent amount of homework. Finally continuation (graduation) came and I couldnt help but laugh at the words of wisdom they gave us because, if they wanted us to succeed they would have helped me and others feel included or helped the grades K-8 feel safer by monitoring and dealing with the issues bullying and inappropriate behaviors. Staff, you may read this and disagree with my points but I spent the whole year listening. I’m glad I’m going to a The Denver School of the Arts next year where I can progress musically. I wouldnt at all recommend this school to anyone especially if you are already at a decent school, stay there. I wish the best to the teachers that I enjoyed and hope the school can pull it together but I dont foresee any major changes.Thomas

If your child has special needs forget about this school. Worst school when it comes to asking for help with a struggling student. Some of the volunteers that help with drop off and pick up wear inappropriate clothing. Just avoid it and take your child elsewhere.

Office staff seems off standishWont allow me to go observe my child in class through a window to see how he is interactingWith others.Lunch too short, have to sit silently in their pockets for 3 minutes of the 15 they were given to eat. The 3 minutes is timed on a count down.Reached out for some concerns to the school and was met with lip service and have seen no true care for my concerns about my child. He cried and they sent him to be alone in the library. Drop off and pick up liine is a joke.Want to pull him out already.

Everything about this school was awful. They preach the benefits of a one to one iPad ratio, but all my kids did was use it for selfies and silly videos. Everyday there was a 30-45 min drive line for pickup, and drop off wasnt a whole lot better. Communication fromTeachers was marginal at best. My kids had more performances at their regular public school than at PPA. They both only had one performance at the very end of the year. Maybe in 10 years this school will be a smooth running operation, but I dont foresee it happening in the next couple years.

Overrated school also the principal and assistant principal are average at best. My daughter had a terrible experience recently and the school management fails to listen to parents. Yesterday we contacted our state legislature regarding a safety issue and today our child was withdrawn from the school.

The eduacation is really easy and you dont always get the challenge you need. They dont have any events such as honoring people who worked in the military or having fundraisers such as fun run, color run, or jump rope for heart. They need more work with dance, and figuring out what level people should go in. The uniforms are very uncomfortable. Hopefully the school will get better.

I am very surprised by the negative reviews on this school, and am glad there werent so many when I was looking into the school! I saw complaints regarding drive line, uniforms, and staff- none of which I have a problem with. I guess I can see drop off being frustrating, but I feel that pick up is very organized and a great way to run things! As far as uniforms being uncomfortable goes, my son has a problem with uncomfortable clothes sometimes, and he is very happy with the daily uniform, as he has the option to wear athletic shorts and moisture wicking shirts every day. He refused to try on the stiffer shorts and hated the regular polos, but thats just him. For other students like him (and all students), the other materials are an option as well. My experiences with the staff have been nothing but positive. I have emailed with the principal, my sons teacher, multiple parent volunteers, and a couple other staff members at the school, and all of my encounters have been positive. They have all been very helpful and kind. I cant say enough positive things about PPA!**Edit- I have now experienced morning drive line (last year we only had a PM Kindergartener), and it is NOTHING! We are in and out in 2 minutes, regardless of the time we show up. PM drive line is much more slow moving, but still the most efficient way to run things. I still love PPA, and Im so excited for all the great experiences my kids will have here! :)
