We had a good experience working with Sonia from Laasya Art Gallery. We found a painting we really liked online and sent Sonia a message expressing our interest in it. We had an interesting FaceTime conversation during which she showed us the details on the painting and walked us through the artist’s process and explained his vision. The painting arrived beautifully packaged and we love it even more in person. It’s a wonderful addition to our art collection.
We bought two paintings from Sonia this year. It was a very refreshing experience working with her as she took the time to answer our questions and helped us educate on the pieces we were buying and also the key considerations we should keep in mind while buying the art pieces (this was the first time we were buying). Also, she figured out the logistics of shipping the works internationally to London and was on top of tracking the shipments to make sure they arrived safe. We are very happy with the works. All in all, a very positive experience buying art from Laasya and would highly recommend the gallery.
Sonia was a real pleasure to deal with, she was very responsive and transparent throughout the process, and helped me realize my dream of over 4 years of getting an original Kalamkaari work by a particular artist. Her love of art and supporting Indian artists really shines through, and she spent over 2 hours guiding us through a range of exquisite work. We are already looking forward to buying our next painting from her!
Exotic and unique, each piece at Laasya makes you drool. If you are looking for art from India, look no further. A rare outfit in the Bay Area with luscious art that caters to your eyes and mind in equal measures; one wont be enough.
Sonia and team were so helpful! They went above and beyond to help me get a print I adore, including when I ran into problems with the delivery!
We had a wonderful experience with Sonia Patwardhan of Laasya Art while choosing art for our home. Sonia’s collection was extensive and beautifully curated with art for all tastes by some of India’s most famous artists. This is really hard to find, especially in the Bay Area. Sonia was patient and thoughtful in understanding what we wanted and helped us choose the right pieces for our home without any pressure. I highly recommend a visit to Laasya Gallery if you’re looking for unique art from the Indian subcontinent.
I am always looking to add new contemporary paintings to my collection - but I am particular and looking for quality at a fair price. Sonia hosted a reception for an Indian artist, and I was blown away by the paintings. Sonia helped me pick a piece that was a perfect addition to my existing collection, and she also encouraged me to sit with my decision before I bought (the time away from the painting only made me more eager to have it in my home). Sonia has amazing taste, and her dedication to supporting Indian artists is inspiring. If you are looking to add to your existing collection - or looking to start collecting - and especially if you have not yet incorporated pieces from Indian artists in your collection, I urge you to seek out Sonia at Laasya Art.
We had a wonderful experience working with Sonia @ Laasya Art. Sonia had some unique pieces of paintings of some of my favorite artist and she worked with me extensively to get to know me, my taste, colors, what makes me happy, kind of art that resonates with me etc. before selling any of the art. After buying few pieces I commissioned a large painting, I told her what I was looking for and she worked with the artist very closely, sent her pictures of where the painting was going to be, how much light was in that area, what colors I wanted to see in that painting etc. It was truly a wonderful experience working with Sonia!!
Sonya welcomed me into her studio and spent time showing us her beautiful pieces, patiently explaining backgrounds of artists, and suggesting other artwork to look at based off of our comments and interests. I ultimately purchased a piece of work and the payment and shipping was easy and efficient. I look forward to working with Sonya again in the future.
Earlier, my introduction to art was what I saw my kids draw in school. But Laasya Art opened an entirely new chapter by showcasing art from different parts of India in vivid colors. I found their Facebook page to be very informative and what I especially liked about Laasya Art is how they encourage and promote hidden and lesser known talents from the hinterlands of India.
