Really happy to find this place tucked away near Palmer. Nice spacing of lower campsites and lovely river trail. Only wish the one bathroom for campsites was better maintained. Ran out of toilet paper and hand sanitizer early in the night!

Peaceful walk along the river. Trails are not well indicated however and it is easy to get temporarily lost and find yourself coming back on your steps. It is nice to walk on the river bed when water level is low.

Great place for last minute camping. Bath house at the entrance wasnt super clean. Some campsites were tucked away and more quiet. Loved site 74 not super sunny or super shady. There were tons of folks there so it wasnt super quiet.

Its a MAGNIFICENT State Park with GREAT RV spots. Uncrowded, quiet, and easy to bike to local Brewery. Only 4 stars because no WiFi...that is a requirement for 5 stars in my book, but we would definitely come back here!

Was a well kept, beautiful park. Bathrooms were nice, although there were problems with the womans showers when we were there, and the ladies bathroom floor had standing water. There are four (or was it five?) pavilions, each with two grills and about six tables. Volleyball net, playground, and a huge open field to let kids/critters run and play in. Would definitely recommend this place.

Honestly a great park with plenty of outdoor things to do to keep you occupied beyond the green spaces and playground. Definitely picks up on popular holidays though, so it can be crowded, especially if you arent coming with a group/have a reservation.

If you want to hang with the family and get away all at one place this is it. Bike trails for the kids play area too and space to be had if wanted. This place has it all and only a short, short drive from town too. LOVED IT ALL.

Large campground with lots of spots for RVs and tents. Great hiking trails and a cute park for kids to play at. A bit noisy because of the airport across the street. Was also woken up a couple times during the night due to a loud unknown noise and someone driving through the campground. Appreciated the clean amenities.

This is a well maintained and very quiet RV park. It has a dumping station as well as a water station, so you dont have to run into town to dump and fill. At 17 dollars a night, including electric hookups, it is also very reasonable

Best family bike and camp area. Easy options for kids and just enough higher level trails to keep things entertaining.

Great recreational spot for tourists and locals, alike. For only $17-$27 per night, you get a lot of amenities. Large park, great walking trails, flushing toilets with a $2 shower, electric hook ups, everything! Great views of the Matanuska river from the walking trails.

Very convenient and hidden option for last minute camping. The community is very grateful. There is a large playground connected to the property. There is the occasional wandering weirdo, but Palmer police are quickly available.

Bring cash. I was told that the cafe would give you cash back if you ate there. They will have your car towed. Also no cash back. Was told also you could park down at lower parking lot and walk. I guess its a difference in opinion depending on the rangers. Its probably nice but not to welcoming. Shuld have known by the sign at the cafe. Restrooms are for customers only. None customers use the bathrooms 2 miles down the road. Other people seem to have no trouble though.

Large day use park(would even be nice for a party) and campground for RV w/hookup and many spots for tenting. Also has a place to shower that youll need quarters for. A few trails to walk through, very beautiful walk, and you can go down to the river. Recommend taking a camera. Its across the street from a small airfield, but during my two day stay there I only heard a plane twice, so not a busy airfield. The camp host is a gentleman, happy to chat with anyone who stops by. He has a lot of Rhubarb growing in front so he picks it when its ready and offers it to the guests. The grounds are kept beautifully. Super close to downtown; it took me less than five minutes to drive to Fred Meyers. Both RV and tenting spots are far enough away from the main road that you cant hear the traffic at night.

I use the RV dump site here a couple of times a year on average. Nice clean facility. The only issue is that if your rig is much bigger then mine (27 5th wheel) you may have trouble getting around the parking lot to the dump site. If you can get up to it, the dump station is nice.

The park has a large open area for recreation as well as several pavillions for bbqs and celebrations. Attached is a small dirt bike park, access to the river via multiple trails, as well as being close to soccer and baseball fields. The park is seasonaly open but has access year round.
