Absolutely outstanding museum! Incredible exhibits and marvelous venue. Docents are well versed and very friendly. Each display is thoughtfully laid out and easy to maneuver. I love this place!

I was highly confused by this exhibit. Because of the name of the museum, I expected examples of building architecture. However, the exhibit was not about building architecture. It was paintings of patterns. Please inform your patrons about this upon entry before they spend their time and money. In the past I went to a Bauhaus exhibit at your museum, and it was wonderful. I would love to see more exhibits like this in an architectural museum.

We had free admission so it was OK. It did not seem to be an architectural museum at all though. I did not see any exhibits about architecture. We only saw exhibits of textiles & colorful fabrics. Some of the fabrics were beautiful though. It was a very small place also.

Palm Springs Art Museum is the largest cultural institution in the Coachella Valley and includes three locations in Palm Springs and Palm Desert. The flagship building is located in downtown Palm Springs and features compelling art exhibitions, a vast permanent collection, and the 433-seat Annenberg Theater, all in a 150,000 square foot, architecturally-significant building. Palm Springs Art Museum Architecture and Design Center, Edwards Harris Pavilion features exhibitions and programming that explore the rich topics of architecture and design. Palm Springs Art Museum in Palm Desert is an 8,400 square foot, Silver LEED-certified building named The Galen that presents rotating exhibitions and special collections. It is surrounded by the four-acre Faye Sarkowsky Sculpture Garden featuring important sculpture works.

I am crazy about mid-century modern architecture, Palm Springs is pretty much the epicenter. The museum of architecture was originally built as a savings and loan in 1961.The volunteer staff at the museum were very nice!Very fun to check out in Palm Springs!

When I was a kid in the early 90s this building housed a used mattress store where they neglected to change the plywood in place for months after someone broke the store front glass with a brick. Maybe they werent completely satisfied with their box spring? Maybe they hated MCM buildings? Anyway I think its not as cool as the Barcelona pavilion but beggars cant be choosers. Ask for Dorothy.

Love the drawings, illustrations, and models of unique buildings and homes. I was expecting more variety but this museum sent to feature one architect and his company. One floor of displays. But it is only $5 to get in and you get to use the tickets for $5 of at the main Palm Springs museum. P.S. Thursdays after 4pm both are free.

A little gem in the desert. Free on Thursday afternoons. They also do school tours for free. But, takes awhile to hear back from the person in charge. Students enjoy the experience. As part of the tour, they teach kids how to create their own masterpiece to take home.

A bit disappointing. This museum has no permanent exhibit and just one temporary exhibit, about three designers who use scrap fabric in their works. So the architecture museum had nothing about architecture inside. Nice restored modernist bank building, including a gift shop in the old vault.
