Place is clean and the equipment is in good shape, when you can get it. Ive had far too many days where I walk in and see 5+ people around equipment I need, warmup, no change, go home. Their tracker states 50% capacity. Maybe they should lower their capacity or get more of the frequently used weights.

It’s a solid facility but I’m wondering if some rules need to be reassessed.A few weeks ago some buddies and I paid to play basketball and all the courts were taken except one. It was empty with one hoop lowered down to 8 feet.“No problem,” I thought. No one is using it and so I’ll ask the front desk if we can raise it and play full court. I was told that that court is for kids... even though it was 8:30PM and no kids were in sight.So my nine buddies and I had to play half court while the other side of the court sat empty until the gym closed at 10:00PM. Also, two courts sat empty with badminton nets up.As a paying customer, that was very frustrating.

We are grateful to have a facility with the capability of so many different activities.The staff is unfriendly and customer service is non-existent.We are all aware of COVID guidelines and the need to follow safety precautions. The attempt to police the public rather than assist us in our recreational activities is displeasing.Please get the staff trained up on service.

The yoga classes are great! I have taken classes from Crystal Harris, Laura Egan, Jessica Robinson, and Kelly Ralston; all have been excellent instructors.Their cuing and class flow is outstanding. I enjoy every one of their classes!

Outrageous customer service!!! Neither were the reopening date or new Covid-19 rules communicated to the patrons as their website indicates they would and should. Yet, they resumed earning the fees collected. Since Yelp said they are open, I showed up twice with other gym members and got told do NOT enter. They did not offer any rules at the door except for the sign outside reminding one to wash hands frequently, keep 6 ft. distance and suggested to wear a mask when moving about. First, it was the middle of the day disinfection. I was told at the door that it occurs 12-2 but their website says 12:30-1:30, and second time, I learned they have increased the minimum age requirement for youth entering the 2nd floor, so only 1/2 of the group could utilize the machines. As a paid customer, when I got emotional about these surprises at the 2nd visit in particular and listed the reasons above, age change and paid customer, they did not like me speaking up. I entered the gym floor solo, just me, while the other party waited at the entrance, and I started to exercise. Few minutes later, supervisor Amanda Johns[..] told me to leave the premises or she will call police. I stayed to exercise, as I always did in the past since the building opened few years ago, minding my own business. My tax dollars helped pay for the bldg. construction and my annual fees pay for the exercise!!! 20 min. later, as I exercise on the machine with headphones on, police showed up, threatened me that they will handcuff me unless I stop utilizing the elliptical machine and leave the premises on my own. They did not care about my rights to get the service for what I paid. They did not care about what I had to say. This is outrageous people!!!

One of the best places in southern Johnson County to play Pickleball. Generally, a lot of courts that attract many players of varying skill levels. A lot of regulars and newbies are always welcome. HT does a great job of posting in their website the number of courts available, so check it out before making the trip.

Hilltop opened at the perfect time for my kids. My son spent countless hours at Hilltop playing basketball/working out with friends. Im not sure where those hours might have been spent without this awesome facility. My daughter and I took classes together every day this summer. There really is something for everyone. It is clean, well appointed and affordable.Thank you Hilltop!

Solid equipment in weight room, but not enough of it. Everything is constantly in use, you can never go in to do specifically what you came to do.

Great facility! Nice and clean. A lot of opportunities to get fit and stay in shape. This morning I played a few games of pickle ball. I appreciated the guidance that the other players gave me, while this was my first official time playing the game. Nice people all around!

Blue Valley Recreation Center is one of the best place for sports and activities in Kansas!

Let me start with this, beautiful, modern facility thats much better than facilities in the towns/cities here in New York where I live. Unfortunate in my experience the employees working the gym not the folks at the desk are unprofessional and lack respect and should be ashamed.I was visiting the location on vacation with my family as I have family in town. I took my son to get some practice in as he plays on a number of basketball teams where we live and loves the game. I have coached him for a while and we try to practice together as a father son thing for a while, you know bonding. I understand NOW the center has a no coaching sign which I wasnt aware when I went since it was my first time. There was just me and my son and another person on two full courts, it was empty! My son and I go through our drills and this guy comes up to me and my son and asks me are you coaching? I have no idea what the hell is going on, I replied with a smile yes I coach my son. Then he goes and tells me that there is NO coaching only playing. I was at a loss, so we stopped, with my son telling me that is weird.I then saw a sign saying no coaching which was never told even with this random guy telling me no coaching. I get it, but whats embarrassing is the fact you come up to a father and son trying to get better - there are ways to approach this with some class and understanding, as I am a sensible person too.Totally untrained egod employees.Never going back!

A beautiful building with basketball courts, a well stocked gym and an inside running track. The weight room is pretty well stocked with dumbbells going up to 120 lbs. The price for a membership here is very reasonable. Definitely worth it to check this place out.

I have been a member of the gym for over 6 months now, but am beyond disappointed. The staff is rude and unwelcoming. My teenage daughter has came home after attempting to wear cute and trendy workout tops I bought for her to the gym but, they have been repeatedly “dress coding” her because the facility is “family friendly.” Which I think is completely ridiculous. I have even attended the gym and seen girls with crop tops that do not get dress coded, not to mention children are rarely on the gym floor. I will say that the gym is clean. However The staff that are in charge of the gym floor need serious re-evaluation and need to determine a consistent dress code.

Best facility weve played volleyball in. Hope we get to come back here.

Nice place but The staff doesn’t take responsibility if a child is bullied or someone needs help with security. Many times teens misbehave and you cannot complain because they don’t have a system where anyone checks or takes action..the parking lot is the worse Ive experienced. Getting into and out of the facility will involve close encounters with other cars and possible running into curbs that are not painted so they blend in with the road. During snow days it’s absolutely horrible.

Really beautiful, state of the art facility. Accessibility is build into every detail. The whole community can use this resource with ease.

This is a really nice facility. I use it to play pickle ball many days per week. It has attracted so many nice and fun people to be around. It is always clean and maintained . If you havent checked it out yet, you are missing all that is being offered here!

Child watch is offered usually from 8am- noon daily. The staff are cheerful and always ready to assist, classes available offer everything from chair yoga to zumba. Plus its hands- down the CLEANEST gym youll ever see!!

Great facility to work out. Equipment is new and everything is clean. Showers could be better but at least there is no traffic there. For the price you pay it is a very good deal!

It is a very good place to workout, play b ball, pickleball, classes on yoga, and many other interesting subjects. Very clean with attendants cleaning everywhere. They have a great indoor walking and running tracks. Very reasonable - a family about $300 for all year if you live in Blue valley District. A bargain!!

Wish I knew this place exsisted before. This has everything. Classes, courts, gym, pool. There are plenty of events and games going on. A track above the basketball court. Very impressed.

I normally love this gym, but recently, everyone I go there is no room for basketball because they only have one court open. I am paying to be a member and open court times yet, it feels every time I go, I don’t have open courts. They decide to have basketball practice on multiple courts. They put an exercise class with maybe 6 people on an entire court even though they have special tools for that. This leads to them cramming around 60 athletes onto 6 hoops. Hmm does this sound like a good use of my money? I think not

I would say it’s a pretty great place, except the bald guy in charge, not sure of his name/role, is very rude, rest of the staff are nice, however. Would reccommend changing the close time to 7:55 since they are going to kick you out anyway, in a rude manner to make matters even worse.

BVRC is a great place to go to. They have a great gym. Basketball courts all day! and pickleball in the mornings. The staff is great. Not the easiest place to get too since its connected to the school so the parking lot can be extra work. I work out there 3 times a week. $5 day passes will get you access to almost everything they offer. They do Fitness classes but that is extra. I like this place a lot. I get a great workout in after work. So I recommend this place simply for the ease of access and the day pass cost.

New, clean, and well equipped. Plenty of machines from tread mills to elliptical, stationery bikes, weight machines, and free weights. Indoor courts for basketball and pickle ball and ping pong. All topped off by an indoor track. The staff is unbelievably friendly and helpful. Blue Valley Rec did it right when they built and staffed this facility.

Opened in January 2016, this fitness center/rec center has an indoor track, several basketball courts, and a fitness floor with free weights, machines, treadmills and stair machines. It gets crowded but manageable. No pool, steam whirlpool or sauna.

Fantastic facility and fun for me and my crew to bball on a regular weekly schedule. Youdo not have to pay big $ to belong here, and get your workout on.

Great place for a gym, basketball/volleyball/pickle ball court, or have a spinning/yoga class. This location is very convenient but doesnt have a pool nor child care outside of 9-noon on weekdays. I hope they can schedule more classes outside of joco housewife hours.

This place has been open over a year and still doesnt how to operate. Its claim to fame is that they have 8 courts so theres plenty of room but thats never the case. My same old story is I show up right after school at 3:15 to play basketball with my buds. Every time I get there there is 4 courts closed due to pickleball or volleyball. I think thats fine still 4 courts open. Then around 4:30 the dumb court monitor kicks us off our court saying they have practice or some other bogus reason. Then we are down to 2 courts (what ever happened to plenty of room?!) with only 2 courts open this plays turns into any other gym like tomahawk. No where to play with tons of little kids shooting and worst of the the other 4-6 are EMPTY (4 or less people playing pickle/volleyball or a vacant practice) so they have these courts but they never use them for basketball. Its always end up crammed with all the other kids. My suggestion is to have pickleball during the day for the retirees then have 4 courts open starting at 3 for the kids getting out of school. If this play refuses to change I will take my business elsewhere,its a shame our tax dollars create such a nice facility (why i gave them 2 stars) and they dont like to use it for basketball.

Inexpensive membership compared to Lifetime and such. Clean. Spacious. Badly missing: racket ball courts.

Basketball open court is available everyday but watch out for week nights, because lots of middle schooler, high school playing. Literally, the gym were full but if you asked for 5v5 scrimmage, it might work and there you have full court. Just make sure you will always win, bcoz lots of group are waiting for next. :) Entrance fee for day pass is $5.00 and they have treadmill too and they have some shower room too.

Top of the line equipment and an indoor track for a very reasonable price. Only negative is that there is not enough equipment for the early evening rush.

Glood price for family. Staff are friendly. Be sure to check out the new Pingpong class for kids.

Im not usually one to make a complaint but after my experience this evening I felt the need to review this gym. On their online schedule, it said that volleyball was from 7-9 every Tuesday and Thursday. However once I got there, after a long drive, I was told by the front that we werent going to play anymore due to the fact that it was being used for basketball. But...there were five or more other courts being used for basketball at the time. At first I understood and decided to just look elsewhere, until the young lady up front gave my friends an attitude. In which, gave me a bad impression of the place. I just dont think its fair for those who wait to come, come disappointed AND gets disrespected. I understand there is nothing you can do about it, but I would just appreciate it if the staff showed more compassion than annoyance. The facility is nice, but honestly the people working there make or break the place. Again, there were many other courts open for basketball, I dont see why they would take the only TWO volleyball courts away. I am quite disappointed and dont know if i would return.

Small basketball courts and games played too close together. A whistle from another court stops a game in progress which causes young kids to have way too many turnovers. Might be good for practices but no bueno for games.

Great basketball facilities for youth sports in Blue Valley area. Gym membership pricing is on par with others.

There are a lot of different things to do and there is equipment to borrow. There is usually no available spots but that is not their fault. Before buying the pass, go in and check if their is any availability.
