It’s a very fun ride that is an experience in and of itself. You’re right there and you feel like you’re really in a hotel. It kind of reminds me of the AHS Hotel. The only complaint is that they have absolutely no overhangs of any kind for when it starts down poring. This is exacerbation by excessive social distancing protocols that have lines extending far beyond where the actual ride begins. This can make for a bad experience the rest of the trip if you’re drenched without a rain coat or poncho.
I enjoyed this ride years ago. The staff are fantastic in the twilight theme, as you go through to the elevator. The ride itself has to be ridden to be believed. the drops and then the last drop to the ground is a breath taker! I really liked it.
One of my favorites! Better than Cali! (even before Cali changed)
I went on this ride over 15 years ago. It’s a timeless classic. Little spooky, adrenaline rush, well decorated. Even for those who don’t know what ‘Twilight Zone’ is (which is crazy to me) they play the episode for you and give you back story.
We went into the ride without knowing anything about it and just loved it! This is a great ride for all ages. There is a thrill to it, but it is not extreme! Love the Twilight Zone throwbacks in the experience. It seems so real! You will really love this ride! The wait really wasnt bad at all and seemed quicker than they said and even thought the fast pass, might look long, it went really quick! You will love this ride!
When I went on this ride I hated it at first. But after thinking about it, I loved Tower of Terror! I loved the creative way they showed the ghosts in the hallway scene, and the amount of work they put into this so you wouldn’t die is amazing! Also the suspenseful music in the 5th Dimension has to be my favorite piece of music on that ride! Thankfully I live in Florida and it still has Tower of Terror. I love The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror!!!
This was a great ride - definitely one if my favorites. We ended up going on it 3 times. You will have to queue but it is well worth the wait.
One of our favorite rides in the park!! The picture we have from this trip shows my back pack literally in the air due to the force of gravity with this ride. And I love the spooky vibe it puts off.
I LOVE ALL OF THE COOL DECOR,AND THE STAFF MAKES IT FEEL SO REAL!!! If Disney was not so far away I would go on every single day.
Such a classic ride! However, I just realized how old I am. Everyone in my group 25 and under has never heard of the twilight zone. I hope there is a way they can update the ride to connect with the next generation while also holding true to its roots. Ive always loved the asthetic and set design as well. But all around a great ride and well worth the wait.
Much more to this ride than the usual drop ride. I always avoid this one at HS but I finally decided I would take the plunge (pun intended).I knew going in that there was a drop then upward launch, drop again. Man, was I not correct with this assumption. Apparently there are 4 (?) different sequences for the ride and one is chosen at random for your elevator.I wasnt paying attention to exactly what was happening as it was my first ride but, it goes down and up and down a whole bunch of times. Be prepared. If youre into air time, you know who you are, youll like this. Fun fact, you get this airtime because the ride doesnt freefall, youre being pulled down.
This ride never fails to impress! Its just fun, old school and still scares the kids! But in a good way they dont walk out crying (or shouldnt)This ride does contain multiple drops, black outs, and other scary moments. So if you have a small one that is easily frightened.. this is not the ride for you.
The Tower of Terror has been one of my favorite rides since it opened at Disneys Hollywood studios. Its very nostalgic with the one in Disney world still using the twilight zone theming.
Fantastic ride even though my kid ask me 1000 time whats the twilight zone lol defenly needs a fresh upgrade but still amazing
Fun and intense! Love the spooky decor and the sudden drop! ;)
This was a lot of fun. If you like thrill rides this is a must. Located at Hollywood Studios, this is one of the park’s main thrill rides. I have not been on this ride for several years but like to try it every few years. It is just as fun now as it was the last time. Definitely sign up for a fast pass as the line for standby was about 2 hours when I went. It is based on a Twilight -zone theme and, as always Disney did a beautiful job of making the structure look old and authentic. You are gathered into a group of about 25 people and ushered into a library- like room where in haunted mansion fashion the story is explained. Then the group goes to the basement of the hotel where you choose which elevator to ride. Once buckled in, the elevator ascends to a floor where some very nice effects give the group a haunted ominous feeling as the car moves forward. Then the entire car drops and is moved back up about 4-7 times and you are returned to the ground. The ride is a little jerky at parts but still a lot of fun. This is a definite for any thrill ride fan in the crowd.
No doubt that this ride is my all time favorite of all times. I rode it 26 years ago then rode it a few weeks ago. No drop in excitement or luster. The atmosphere is beyond words and Disney magic is still the best ! If youre tall enough to ride, you got to ride it. The que line to get on the ride is second to none. The architecture alone is completely amazing.
I love this attraction. If you are afraid of emptiness you have to know what this is about ... if you go in and want to leave you can notify the Cast Members and they will take you through an exitThe experience is worthwhile and it is easy to take Fast Pass if you know how to use the application well.I climbed 2 times and it was amazing besides that they set the scene spectacular and the cast members are very funny.By the way there are two elevators therefore 2 rows I recommend you go to the bottom row since there will be almost no people. If you do not want to get into the attraction because they do not like the things of terros, do not worry! you will see that it is a very pleasant environment
Fun ride, great decor and theatrics. Be ready for a LONG wait unless if you’ve paid $80 extra for Fast Pass. We waited two hours (had I known the wait was so long I wouldn’t have) and the ride lasted ~1 minute. But had a fun time nonetheless
My childhood planing to go in disney hollywoody studios or disney world
One of Disney’s most iconic thrill rides and (imo) possibly one of the best thrill rides ever created. If you get the chance to figure out how it works behind the scenes, it really is fascinating. I cannot overstate just how much I adore this ride.
I almost had a heart attack on this ride. I knew what it was about but the sudden drop was just terrifying. By far one of my favorite rides because the cast is always in character and it has a great theme. I would suggest using a FastPass on this one because the lines can get VERY long with hours of wait.
Definitely with the wait if you dont have the fast pass very fun ride.
Great ride as usual! Fast pass is the way to go, waited less than 20 min. And theres always cool stuff to look away while youre waiting.
The ride itself isn’t than scary and is fun. Really what is fantastic here is the ambience and the story telling. From the moment you wait in line until you get in the elevator the experience is on point. Exception decor and it’s is well maintained as expected.
Wow!! This has been my favorite ride for a long time, since MGM day’s, but they have upped the drops and they are even better than I remember!! Up and down multiple times!! I do wish they would Up the graphics to the story but then again the Twilight Zone is a legend.
Love, love, love this ride. Get a fast pass if you can. Standing in line waiting for the ride is entertaining, the hotel is decorated like its old and then theres the ride. You go up and then you drop down several different times. We always hit this ride more than once. Worth the wait in my opinion!
We love this ride and it was well worth the 2 hour wait time!! Hotel decor looked as if it was a real hotel. Ride was excellent. We highly recommend this ride to all ages and we look forward to visiting again soon!
The ride was definitely one of my favorites upon visiting to Disney! The decor and introduction at the beginning really set the tone for the ride and makes it really cool! The ride starts out as a tour of the haunted building then goes into the elevator drop part. Although, be cautioned, waits for the ride get extremely long unless you pay for the Fast Pass which was defiantly worth it. For people afraid of heights, this is NOT the ride for you. You get a great view over the park and it is really fun, even if it lasts 4 seconds. At the end, there is a photo center (it does take a photo of you so make sure to smile!) and a gift shop with some cool stuff. I would definitely recommend this ride.
Loved it! did this ride when I was 8 years old...23 years later did it again! nostalgic experience
This was a incredibly fun ride. Me and my friends went on it three times we all loved it so much! The line is 100% worth it. I would suggest coming here as fast as possible to reduce the wait time, or get a fast pass.
Rooms were dirty and filled with spider webs plus the sheets seemed like they haven’t been washed in years, exterior was very old and worn out, the employees were very rude and demanding and all the other guests were dead tired and didn’t seem right, it definitely made me uneasy and for some reason the elevators were so loud. It sounded like screams but it was probably just the age of the elevators since everything here is very old, don’t recommend at all you’ll definitely have a bone chilling stay here.
Pretty fun. The design is well done and has become a staple of the park.
A truly fantastic thrill ride with impressive attention-to-detail. In my opinion, this is one of the best rides in all of Orlandos Disneyworld Resort. The theming is impeccable and the staff are are also in theme. It was surprising how quickly the queue moved, so dont be worried if the line seems a little long. The special effects at the start of the ride have aged well and are still impressive to this day, but the drop is obviously the star here. You get pulled upwards as fast as youre dropped, and the seven-story drop is a true thrill. Absolutely love this ride.
SUPER fun ride! Both my kids (9, and 13) LOVED this ride!!! I would recommend for that age range!
It was pretty exciting and scary! I Recommend it if your in for a thrill!
Always a good ride. But to long a wait (115) mins for to short a ride. And only 2 of the 4 elevators were working. Which was not mentions at the ticket counter.
Not to scary. Drops a few times. Very popular ride. Welcome to the twilight zone.
Even during a crowded day, they moved us quickly and efficiently through the Boiler Room. Always a fun ride. Remember, if a member in your party doesnt want to go, have them with you until you get to the elevator so they can experience up until that moment. There is a way to escape without riding the ride.
The Tower is a classic, even if the ride part is a bit short. The wait was outrageous, made more so by the ride staff publicly admitting that the park had massively overbooked Fastpasses and were admitting people at a ratio of 10 FastPass to one standby - and still not keeping up.The gift shop was out of everything in clothing. They crammed in anything spooky from any other kind of attraction or Disney property to try and hide the gaps.I rode this as a kid and it has a fond place in my memories. Absolutely tragic to see how Disney has ruined the experience.
I hate drops and this is still one of my favs
They do a great job of building tension before the elevator drops. A truly great experience, especially if you like Rod Serling and the twilight zone!
The sheer detail of the hotel decor alone is a five-star for me. Walking up to the grand hotel, you feel like you’re stepping into a long-forgotten hotel that’s gone into a long-held state of disrepair with cobwebs everywhere and long-faded Art Deco style decor and architecture. The ride was super fun, thrilling to say the least, and very surprising with the rises and drops seemingly random every time.Do this at rope drop and you’ll have a minimal wait time without having to blow your fast pass on this.
Much better than I expected. Ride lasts about 3.5 minutes once youre in the car.
So much fun!
Excellent theme ride. Just try to keep your lunch down
The Best ride in Disney World. I love the story of The twilight zone and then the punishment of droppingExciting, Fun, Amusing, Haunted, Scary, Refreshing ride
Best ride ever, the theming inside is unreal ... you feel like youve been transported into the TV show. The ride itself is unlike any other and people often forget all the cool things before the drop itself. The elevator moves horizontally and vertically which is extremely unique. The drop is completely unpredictable and in addition to the drop the ride shoots you up as well. Definitely one of the most thrilling rides at Disney.
Amazing service everything was great, till we had to take a different elevator to go to my room.
Simply an iconic monument. The greatest ride within all The Walt Disney World Parks.
One of the best rides of all Orlando theme parks.
One of the best rides in any Disney Park hands down. If youve been you know why, if you havent been you need to ride this ride!
DON’T LET THE LOW RATES FOOL YOU!!!Friendly staff and well decorated (albeit antiquated). This hotel was overall not my favorite lodging experience. Had to enter through the basement, and the elevator was having issues. Plus, I couldn’t even find my room! This would be a one star review if it weren’t for the incredible, very apologetic staff. I can’t say I recommend it, but maybe it was a bad day for them. Good luck if you book a stay.
My kids love it! I dont like heights so I didnt like it as much. I went on it one time and probably wont go again bc I am afraid of heights. It is a really cool ride though.
This ride was so much fun. It was one of the longer rides too which was nice. I was in line for 20 minutes. The sign said 65 minute wait but it was not. The decorations were very nice. But it looks like they need to do some dusting. There was dust and cobwebs on everything thing out of reach. Like if you are going to have a nice library room on your rides you could at least do some cleaning once and a while. The ride is an elevator. You get on the elevator and you watch some different parts from the twilight zone. The different floors are different parts of the episode. The view from the top was nice. I road it when the sun was setting so you could see the sunset and the rest of the park. Then you go back down and get of the ride. I really enjoy this ride. Kind of like the careacle of progress but in the form of an elevator.
A warm welcome back to those of you who made it, and a friendly word of warning, something you wont find in any guidebook: the next time you check into a deserted hotel on the dark side of Hollywood, make sure you know just what kind of vacancy youre filling, or you may find yourself a permanent resident . . . of The Twilight Zone.
Awesome set design and a thrilling ride. It is one of my favorites at Disney world. I only wish it lasted a little longer.
It is an awesome experience. I love this.
Honestly one of my favorite Disney rides. The queue times for this ride are relatively short since they load 4 carts at once. A little scary but its over quickly.
OMG that is my favorite ride I go on it every time I go to Hollywood studios in Orlando FL
Kids love this ride. The drop is fun and you never know what sequence you will get
One of my favorite rides at Disneyland. Its a must do everything we are there. Its currently under renovation so only one side was running. The side we rode on was freshly renovated and its awesome. They did a great job on the updates version.
Tower of Terror does not scary as it look like, my friend who afraid of Roller coaster and height can go on this ride and she enjoyed it. I love the interior inside this building its pretty creepy but beautiful.
Love this ride! With the opening of Galaxys Edge, it is really easy to get on stand by (save your Fastpass!). If your child is afraid of riding it (like mine was the first time), I found it really helped to explain how everything works or how it is made (I find the spiderwebs to be an easy place to start). Just my 2 cents for what it is worth! My favorite part of the ride isnt actually the ride itself (although fabulous), it is appreciating how much effort was put into setting the scene (and finding the hidden Mickeys!). Have a fabulous ride!!
One of the best rides Ive ever seen. The atmosphere is dream like and surreal. The ride itself is worth the wait. Highly recommend you visit this attraction when going to Disney world.
Favorite ride...hands up! Not even scary just very thrilling and I hate drops. For some reason I really love this ride its a must every time I hit Hollywood Studios! I especially love the line how u go through the basement of the hotel and everything looks n feels so real!
I screamed like a terrified small child. A wee tear may have crept from the edge of my left eye......may have....I am thankful for the seat belts...that drop....in the dark...never again!! My teenager, on the other hand, laughed the entire time. Hmmmm.....
I love this place!! My kids too . Kkkkkk
A fun ride - if not far too short in duration - featuring sudden drops, terrific visuals, and a cool Twilight Zone backdrop.
I was very hesitant at first and didn’t want to go on one bit, because I dont like roller coasters or drops. When I got on the ride, the drops were awesome. You drop about 7 stories at a time but it doesnt feel like a lot. In all of the drops, my feet started to come up off the floor and my stomach felt like a drop on a roller coaster. When it was over, I was very glad that I went on this amazing thrill.
Best ride at Hollywood Studios.
This ride came out 25 years ago but its phenomenal even by todays standards.
The ride was awesome, I love drop rides. However was the ride worth 2 hours in the blistering Florida sun with no seats, no shade, and no fans to move the sweltering air around. No it was not. Get a fast pass you might say but they still had an hour long wait. The ride gets an 8 out of 10, super fun and not so scary you cant take your kids, the line on the other hand gets a -2 out of 10 I almost died in the heat and from this climate.
Went on this ride with three young children - the youngest being 5. Didnt know what the ride was and figured that since we all had lap belts on, it wouldnt be too crazy. It was crazy. What a blast!Have an awesome photo of myself holding my daughter down with my arm because I felt that she was going to fly out of her seat! She has a look of terror on her face and it is hilarious. This is a fun ride and it isnt to be missed.
One of my favorite rides in Hollywood Studios!
Gave me a stomach ace was pretty thrilling but did not like it that much
Probably the best ride at Hollywood Studios
A classic ride but to be honest I liked the update Guardians of the Galaxy version in California a lot more. Still a great ride though.
If you want an amazing thrill that will have your adrenaline pumping and mind boggling, try out this ride!!!! Its a screamer...lol
A great thrill ride with a well themed waiting line that holds your attention long enough until you get on the actual ride. Certainly fast pass this ride if you can. A lot of fun albeit a little short for my liking.
The best! My 6 year old kid loved it
So much fun when I droped my ears were flying 10/10 my favriote ride in disney. I recomend it.
Great old school Twilight zone feel and creepy as well. A family fun and excitement. Maybe not for young children unless they love rides and drops
It was great! I was scared, the kids were scared, everyone was scared! The guardians of the galaxy theme was very interesting.
Best ride in the park. The random drop patterns keep the ride fun.
This was probably my favorite ride at Hollywood Studios. I had a fast pass for it and the wait was only 2 minutes (Id recommend getting a fast pass because the stand-by wait was almost 2 hours) I loved it so much! Id definitely recommend for anyone who loves drops!
Fun, a bit scary though.
This is my favorite ride in all of the Disney Parks! From the line queue, to the bell hops, to the boiler room and especially the thrilling drops! This ride is a must do for thrill seekers and storytellers alike. Tower of terror has a story and a bite! I love to ride this with friends and watch our individual video afterwards. A must do!!!
Was expecting a nice stay at an on property resort. When we arrived at check in no staff greeted us. Worse yet the library looked like it hadnt been cleaned in years. The only TV was showing some black and white television show. Hello is this not 2018 should they get some color by now. Then we were taken down to the basement and greeted by a gholish bellhop, who boarded is onto what I can only describe as the scariest ride of my life. It didnt even take me to the right floor. Instead it lead me to a gift shop back on the main level then a door to the outside. This place needs some serious renovations. Be sure Ill be contacting my lawyer Disney.
I love this ride so much! Had a fantastic time going recently!
The doors barely seemed to open anymore when its dropping. It wasnt that scary this time around. The cast member said its random. No matter which side you pick. I always thought one side was more aggressive than the other side?
The cue line and lead up keep you interested. Seat belted in, the ride looks and feels pretty passive at first then the elevator takes its own journey ..then....then..you get out minus your wits.
I was looking for a classic hotel with excellent reviews. Unfortunately, I found the lobby to be covered in dust and cobwebs, the library to be dark yet crowded with passers-by who were only there to watch a television show (in black and white at that!), and the staff insisted on me going through the boiler room to get to the elevator. Once inside the elevator the other guests appeared ghostly pale, and less than cordial - right uppity in fact. I thought I had arrived at my room, which had an amazing view of Hollywood Boulevard and the surrounding area, but I quickly realized I was AAAAHHHHHHHH!!!!!@&$#!!!!!!
Fun ride but needs re-theming
OUR FAVORITE!! Excellent story, great thrill ride, 13 different variations of drops. This is our favorite ride in all of Disney.
This is a real thrill. Was not sure what to expect. But this was a blast. My 8 year old got off the ride crying and said she almost peed her pants...then asked if we could go again. Fantastic.
Get in line by 830 to avoid an hour plus wait or use a fast pass. Wait times greater than. 2 hrs by 930am.They allow you into the ride around 845am.Unique ride where youre strapped to an elevator shaft with rapid climbs and descents.
One of my favorite rides at Disneyland. Its a must do everything we are there. Its currently under renovation so only one side was running. The side we rode on was freshly renovated and its awesome. They did a great job on the updates version.
If you time it right, fast pass is not necessary here. If you have a memory maker, there is a video spot inside this ride, which is great because we have an awesome short clip of the kids screaming their heads off. Ride is random, and will not go in the same sequence every time, so it is good to ride a few times.
