Though sometimes the wait can be a bit, the sandwiches are always worth it. Every employee Ive interacted with has been patient, helpful and friendly. Good food, good times.
Haven’t been here in ages, used to love it. Came in tonight for a pick up order. The order is written correctly on the bag. Get home and we get hoagie bread instead of Baguette. Totally changes the sandwich. That’s a big flop, especially for the prices. This is not the first time this has happened.
Service is typically above par. The bill was fair I would say. Menu is like a cafe in Boston I liked.
Great sandwiches.. good size. My favorite is the caprese. They make all ingredients in house except for the desserts. Must try!
Asked for a baguette got a hoagie. Not good. Always get the baguette. Id give a 5 star for the right order!
Love this place!! My son turned me on to these sandwiches. They are delicious and there are a lot to choose from. Love supporting local businesses. Great prices!!
Love this place. Way chill atmosphere, sandwiches are amazing and come on real bread.
The owner Brock is the absolute man! I love his entire staff, the menu is PACKED with exciting sandwiches that are crafted to order. While the wait time could be considered long for a sandwich place the wait is worth it once the perfectly picked and paired ingredients dance across your tongue. The quality of the food leaves NOTHING on the table. Its also a great place to discover new art from local talent as the artists change monthly and there is zero censorship. I could continue ranting about this not so hidden gem but its best you go enjoy it yourself.
Fantastic sandwiches: fresh ingredients, great flavors, perfectly toasted. Not your average deli! Definitely give this spot a try!
After reading the amazing reviews, I decided to give it a shot, and boy was this a bad move. The instructions for the sandwiches were not followed. The French onion soup was filled with cooking oil and it literally tasted as such too; there was a thick layer of oil on the top of the soup. The sandwiches were totally dry and the meat was stale. This is perhaps the worst order I’ve ever had from any sandwich shop in town. So much so that I’ve had to write a public review (which I never do), because when I called the store to let the manager know about my discrepancy, the employee would not put them on the phone to speak with me. I spent $45 dollars at this place. Terrible food, and terrible customer service, I’m so disappointed.
A+ NewYork style sandwiches. Worth every penny.
The cashiers/sammie makers are so cool & nice!
That caprese sandwich...oh man. Best sandwich Ive ever had. Ever.
Love this place. The turkey pesto sandwich is my jam!
Awesome sandwich. Had the pork and peach. Quick service. Will eat here again.
Dang u gotta get in here they got the best sammiches
Always delicious and fresh. Staff are wonderful and the art is worth checking out. Plus their late night hours are perfect!
Kind of run of the mill, dry sandwiches. Costly for the lack of substance and meat. Just meh.
Seriously? Order a day in advance? Wow RIP Star Deli.
Veggie sandwhich options, Tasty combinations. Bread is amazing, soups are homemade and delicious
One of my favorite sandwich shops. Amazing cubano. Sometimes theyre left alone and there might be a long wait but it will be worth it.
I always Love the sandwiches in soup at the shop I visit often!
Fantastic sandwich, nice art to stare at as well.
The sandwiches here are very good. I recommend stopping here if you are in the Benson area. They are open late on the weekends too, so that is a huge plus if you are bar hopping in the area.
This place was absolutely awesome!!My kids and I couldnt believe how flavorful the sandwiches were, we even tried each others. Definitely going back
Food was excellent. Special deli sandwiches and fresh homemade soup. Quaint atmosphere. Art posted new each month and available for sale. Friendly service.
Absolutely beautiful! Amazing decor, amazing fresh food, kind service.Ordered three whole sandwiches and while there was about 7-10 minutes of a wait (we looked at all the art that was featured, as in to purchase, and all the posters and handouts that were there to take for free).Sat down and was given our food, and we all were taken aback by the quality, it was just so surprising for some reason. I mean, the price is 10$ for a whole (longer than the half) sandwich, so I was kind of scared that it wouldnt be worth it, but uh... It. Was. So. Worth. It.Also, after a bit of eating, this woman walked in and she was so rude to the ONLY GUY WORKING THERE, AT ALL, she was treating him like he didnt know what he was doing and he handled it so well, just kept agreeing and smiling.10/10, dude, hope you see this
The sandwich that I had here was so good makes Subway and Blimpies seem like amateur food shacks. Would stuff face here again!
So good. They had a sandwich called the Beets Knees and I asked if they could make it into a salad. They did. It was awesome. Will be back
Great place, amazing food. Staff is incredibly nice and warm. Will come back.. a lot!
The sandwiches are AMAZING. I have yet to have one Ive been disappointed in, and havent ordered the same thing twice. The only reason I rate 3 stars is because of the wait. It is painfully slow. Be prepared to wait at least 15-20min if youre the only one in the place. If there are any people in front of you in line, expect to WAIT (30+ min). The sandwiches are well worth it, but calling in an order for carry-out is your best bet, unless you have time to kill.
Great local fare at reasonable prices. $5 for a half sandwich and $9 for a full. My wife and I both liked the Stampede and the BBQ shredded pork. The Turkey Pesto was better than expected. We heard positive reviews from friends on the French Dip and Peach n Pork. Location is unique, its squeezed between two other buildings and the eating area has art displayed and available for purchase.
Great art, great food, great people. Never change please. And make more mushroom soup!
Staff were kind and the sandwich was sweet!
Order what you want, everything is good.. I myself alternate between the BLT and the CUBA. Grab a soft brownie and a soda and be out quick after a night out. Enjoy some art work while you order. Food is always fresh and perfect timing. Went here after a great show at the waiting room and it was fast. Maybe because I enjoyed the artwork. Great place for food and a fast order. Eating while I’m writing and it’s getting better lol
Fantastic deli in the heart if Benson. If you get a chance, make your way here for great deli sandwiches reasonably priced. Best in Omaha!
It is a hole in the wall deli sandwich and salad place almost literally. It is a small Trapezoidal Space squeezed between two other buildings with changing artwork on the wall. The space Appears larger due to the floor to ceiling windows. Clean 50 style tables and lunch counter in front of the window. Food is good, decent prices, can be slow getting your food due to small staffing and tight kitchen quarters. I keep going back because their sandwiches and salads are just that good.
Amazing sandwiches. I came from out of town and this place was recommended. I got the turkey with strawberry spread and Bleu cheese crumbles. A delicious combo Ive never tried before. The peach and pork sandwich looked amazing as well if your into pork. The bread is soft and chewy, not too much or too little of it. Simply perfect.
A Benson staple. So many great sandwiches you cant go wrong. Staff is always super friendly and the food comes out fresh and decently fast for everything being made to order.
Great sandwich, not much option to go with it tho.
Never been disappointed by sandwiches or service here! Highly recommend the brownie and Jalapeno Popper Grilled cheese, so freaking good.
Best damn french dip Ive ever had.
Star deli isnt a fast food joint so it takes them time to make your sandwich. Its worth every minute.
Delicious food, but really slow service.
My favorite sandwich shop in town! Great food, and nice staff has me coming back!
Best. Sandwiches. In. Omaha. Nothing has disappointed. The quality of ingredients and flavor combinations are what keep me coming back. The staff are knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly.
Quick easy good sandwich. Best part is no wait.
Best place to grab a sandwich anywhere near Benson, awesome artwork rotates often and the owner smokes all the meat himself. Awesome staff and atmosphere all around.
A great place for a gourmet sandwich. Pricy for families..
So good
Very pleasant experience, awesome food and staff. Will be going back for sure.
I live in the area and just gave this place a try. Outstanding sandwiches with several vegetarian options! Made from scratch and appears to be homemade/fresh ingredients. Just be aware that it will take some time (especially if there is a line), so dont think you will be in and out in 5 minutes like Jimmy Johns. Quality food takes time... this place is worth it!
Heard good reviews so went to check it out. Muffaletta was fantastic! Will definitely be back to try another selection from the menu!
Quite possibly the best sandwich place in Omaha.
Coolest sandwich shop Ive ever been to.
Love the stampede sandwich and down to earth vibe.
Very good sandwiches!
Their cubano sandwich is absolutely the best!
Artisan Hipster Food and Art GalleryI always get the caprasi saladA french dip with fresh jalapenos and a squirt... With a chocolate chip brownie... Comfort food
Great local sandwich shop in heart of Benson district, dont miss this one! The cuban is great, and the subs are toasted, very fresh and the brownies are excellent way to end the night.
My favorite place in the city has AMAZING SANDWICHES
Over priced, we were the only 2 people in the place and waited almost 30 minutes for two cold meat half sandwiches an one bowl of soup. To top it all off very mediocre taste at best.
Absolutely fabulous
Great atmosphere and AMAZING sandwiches! I always look forward to the peach n pork sandwich, but so many other good ones too! The artwork changes month to month with a new exhibit being displayed. Its great to see a local business support local artists.
Love the food and location. Parking is almost never an issue. The staff is also incredibly chill and friendly. However, the wait times can be pretty rough. Its common for an order for two to take at least 20-25 minutes, and if theres a line of 3-4 people in front of you, you may as well prepare for a 30 minute wait. Weve been there when people (who I assume are regulars) walk in and them almost immediately walk right back out because they see the small line and know it will take too long. Ive also seen the staff sadly have to tell people it could be a 30 min. wait for food.I appreciate the fresh and delicious food but I think the wait needs a little work.
Believe it or not only place in Benson two or three years running that serve corn beef and cabbage on Saint Paddys day and it is now my tradition.Update: this year they did not have it and I was completely disappointed and without
An absolutely delicious sandwich. One of my favorite places for lunch. Try the baguette!
Wait was a little bit more than you would expect for a cold deli sandwich but wow... Delicioso! Real carved meats, fresh veggies, and bread made in-house- as well as some interesting decor. This is definitely a little gem Im glad I found.
Their sandwiches are so dang good! They stay open late, too. Good place to grab some food quickly in Benson.
Love this place. The cubano is my favorite
My favorite sandwich shop in omaha. Friendly staff, local art on the walls and amazing food. What more could you ask for? Oh and endless bars within walking distance. Enjoy!
The sandwiches are amazing. Especially the french dip. Thick slices of meat & cheese. Cool artwork to peruse while waiting or eating. Super friendly staff.
Love the whole concept of this place. Great food with local art for sale. Always fresh food made to order. Daily soup and sandwich specials. Reasonably priced
I got the muffuletta. Its not exactly like the New Orleans original, but it is absolutely the best sandwich Ive ever had in the other 49 states. The guy working was very friendly, super helpful, and did a great job. The parking on a Saturday night obviously sucks, but totally worth it.
The Cubano was delicious!
Best French onion soup and sandwiches!!!
Star Deli serves up delicious sandwiches and is open more hours than most other restaurants in downtown Benson. Great for grabbing a snack while youre checking out the other Benson hotspots. It can take a little bit to get your food during peak hours, so call ahead and drop by a few minutes later for the fastest service.
The sandwiches were awesome. Fresh ingredients and they have vegetarian and vegan options!
Nothing special. A plain hole in the wall place with about 10 sandwiches to choose from that consisted of weird ingredients put together on each one. Canned soda... The brownies were good and soft and tasty. Went because of a Groupon.... Return? Highly highly unlikely. ..glad I didnt pay full price!
The best in Benson
Pleasurable, delectable, aphrodisiac sandwich that they call spring turkey on fresh baguette takes my heart and soaks my soul in deliciousness!!! I can tell you they are amazing here on service and quality, the price is unbeatable and I want to cry tears of joy. Faith in food restaurants restored. Marry me.
Nice blend of aromatic and savory flavours!
Laid back hipster joint with local art for sale. Unique takes on classic sandwiches. Not your moms Turkey and rye!
Great little place with a lot of seating, nice menu options, and a killer staff. Try the French onion soup. Drinks are reasonable, too and another great variety.
I have way too many good things to say about this place and I shall start with the sandwiches they are amazing always very fresh I personally would recommend the white Hoagie over baguette, baguette sometimes its kind of hard on your mouth other than that this place is so good back to the sandwiches I usually get the spring turkey which has house turkey breast fried onions blue cheese greens and strawberries many other options that are way above par and thanks for the service! Update: some how they cant figure out how to properly stock and check inventory, called to place to go order and they said the wraps were frozen ...ok take one out of the freezer it takes two seconds to thaw figure it out
Muffaletta is my favorite sammie in town.
Great sandwiches, but Id definitely recommend ordering online then traveling to get your food because they start from scratch.
Love their food and the people who work there
This place has the best sandwiches in town. Especially good after having a few beverages and playing pinball at beercade.
Took me a while to warm up to the odd layout and unique them of this place. There is a peach and pork sandwich that I have become addicted to. Open late in a key drinking corridor of Omaha is also a plus. Defiantly worth checking out.
Turkey pesto sammich
I love how they prepare everything on order and make everything in house! Very Authentic! Plus I love looking at the artwork all over the walls!
Good enough to satisfy late night munchies after drinking around Benson. One of those, you were too drunk to make your own sandwich at home, type of visit.
Great menu offerings and friendly staff, and always great art to consume with your food, too.
Fast and delicious.
Best local sandwich shop. Uses quality ingredients with a mix of familiar classics and daily specials. Soup is great here also.
Large variety of sandwich options, great for a late night bite. Friendly staff and some atmosphere.
