The Washington Center for the Performing Arts is the crowning jewel in Southwest Washingtons cultural scene. This location was originally a vaudeville house back when built back in 1924, later going through a couple of significant remodels until its current design, which completed in 1985. This incredible jewel, situated in the center of downtown Olympia, is genuinely worth visiting to see your favorite musicians, dance troupes, Broadway shows, and more. I hope you enjoy it as much as my family and I do!

I looove this place for performing! The stage is spacious. The venue is clean. It is huge for a huge production company to put on a show involving numerous performers. The back stage is wonderful. The lightening for the stage is stunning and it showcases the performers beautifully! I danced for 13 years and every year for dance recitals we came here to put on the show and it was a wonderful show with lots of help to the Washington center for the performing arts!

Awesome small venue (less than 1000 seats) living here in Olympia, Ive seen quite a few acts here.. they have a wine and beer bar, along with mixed hard alchohol drinks..very well priced.. mostly staffed with volunteers, so the staff are all super helpful and willing to please..Great acoustics too!

Re

Horrible performance center. Gets the worst shows you can imagine and gives very limited information regarding what the show actually is. Box office is also a pain to deal with, and isnt reliably open two hours before a show as they say. If you expect to ask the box office a question before your show odds are you wont be able to.

Saw the Nutcracker and it was outstanding. All the dancers and people that took part should be proud of themselves. My partner and I enjoyed every moment. As for the theatre itself it was very clean, easy seating access, easy bathroom access and easy to get around over all. The deco was beautiful and the architecture itself is great to behold. Come enjoy a show here when you can.

We have had issues with getting seats that someone in a Walker can access. We contacted the office and made sure to go through them to get our tickets and they put us up In the Hire section that required taking an elevator and then climbing another set of stairs. When we went down to ask for ticket change they said they could only change for to in our party and that meant we had to separate. But the row that the 2 were sent to on the main floor for the disability had an entire row that was empty. I feel that when we called there should have been an option given for someone in the Walker they did not have to walk up a flight of stairs. I love the shows that happened there but this is the 2nd issue that we have had with mobility of trying to get this person with a walk or to the chair that they assign us

The Ballet Northwest did their Nutcracker Ballet at this prestigious theater. I was in awe of the talent of the dancers, but the old world theater has its own appeal as well. The scene backgrounds, the lighting and sound system transport you into the story. The seating is very comfortable.

I attended the Masterworks Choral Ensemble concert on Saturday with two others. Virtuoso performance by the 5th grade violinist who had won the student competion MCE held in May. Several MCE soloists were superb. The Washington Center for the Performing Arts was comfortable, the audio and lighting worked smoothly and the paid and volunteer staff members were all helpful and friendly. A fun evening for an affordable price.

Nice facility, but if you do a competition here you cant video tape even with your phone. So, secret squirrel might be necessary if you want to video. I was so disappointed to not get my performance on tape when the venue didnt allow it and the event did not have a professional videography.

Attended the God is a Scottish Drag Queen performance, and it was quite enjoyable. The facility had an open bar, my wife and I got a bottle of water and enjoyed the show. The only issue was the rude woman in the front row who kept talking and disrupting the performance for those of us sitting behind her, she continued even after one of our neighbors complained to her that she was too loud and disrupting the show. The opportunity to meet the performer after the show was special...

I volunteered with 2 elementary schools who took their collective 1st grade classes for a field trip & to watch a play entitled Flight School!Being Abt % first time viewers, they did such an incredible job being lil people!! The Awe in their eyes & their overall experience of theater was irreplaceable! About an hour into the show & closely approaching the end, you could feel the energy like the wave at a sporting event...all getting the wiggles!!Arrive early enough to travel through slightly congested & tight traffic. The parking meters can be fed quarters or Card...I believe a $25.00 parking ticket will be issued 4 failing to adhere to your time.Staff & Regular volunteers were wonderful!! There was only 1 fine wine matured encounter for me I found to be a little snooty if you will. With smell, swirl, taste, & then spit, so no biggie at all. Okay, smile, & keep moving works wonders! The theater was orderly, well maintained, well lit, well equipped & the bathrooms were great. Our performers & materials presented were relevant, funny, & engaging from the beginning to questions & good byes @ the end. Good message for children to take away with them as well!

A great performance center with helpful, mostly volunteer staff. Ive been to several events here and Ive never been disappointed.Be aware that theres no way to avoid stairs to loge level seating if accessibility is an issue for you.Drinks are served at intermission, but they used to not be allowed in the venue. The Center has solved that now by making a reusable adult supply cup available. Ingenious!

I love the washington center, its beautiful inside and outside. I have been here for the third time tonight, first was having my senior prom from high school there then went to rock of ages, and now seen the nutcracker. It has four floors not to hard to climb the stairs. They have a consession stand and the prices for water, soda, and candy were good not sure if they change due to certain shows or events but I was happy with the prices.
