Great little lake for fishing and kayaking. Nice walking and biking trails. Decent softball complex. Great bird watching and wildflowers. Even a bat Habitat. Well cared for facility! Whats not to love?!

Absolutely perfect park. I love letting Susan off the leash and watching her just RUN! Other guests at the park have very friendly, well-trained dogs. Never had a bad experience here.

This is a great, moderately-sized park very close to Olathe. The fishing is just okay but the paved trail is just the right length for young families. Dont forget to visit the playgrounds at the shelters off the lake.

Such a beautiful place huge complex. The disc gold course was awesome it was my first time out there and I only threw 6 over par. Very long spread out course. I like to play in the woods but at the same time open field and this gives you the best of both worlds very diverse course but watch out for hole 16 lake next to hole and itll get ya hope you like to swim

My brother left his earth suit there, on a park bench long since removed. I think it is a lovely place with sweet smells and when I go I hope it is at such a pleasant place.

Great disc course, family park, been enjoying for close to 40 years, a local treasure. park police should be less overbearing and enforce the spirit not the letter of the law. been that way since the beginning.

Great of leash fog park and walking trails

Heritage is pretty well known as the worst place to play in KC, and yet its not as bad as it was a couple of years ago. The fields are not level, theres a lot of sand holes on the field, the road in and out is small and gets jammed up a lot. A well struck ball will roll evenly for a few yards then pop up on a clump of grass or hole. Everyone has to park in ditches and on grass, and I hear about door dings a lot. Two stars because you can bring your dog and I love dogs.

This park is so beautiful. My family and I love walking around the lake. Part of the trail is right next to the water. My girls love to look in the water, skip rocks, play on the marina. Heritage park also has an amazing dog park. Its huge and has a nice trail around that whole area as well. There are even bathrooms located in the dog park which is super convenient. We have taken family photos at this park, we have had family gatherings at the shelters. You really cant go wrong with this park!

We love the trails at Heritage park. Its a favorite of our kids to take their bikes and scooters out on the paved trails. Perfect family time activities. There are so many trails you never feel like there are too many people around! Love it.

Itd be a good place if they let the grass recover. Its one of the few complex in town with natural grass. Its a little far away, but willing to go if the fields were better.

Great dog park! They have a lake for dogs to swim in, just make sure pups get a bath afterwards. I wish folks would pick up their pet waste more too. Either way, love this place!

We go multiple times per week. Our dog always has fun. Has a high percentage of dogs two years old or younger. Some are marginally trained. The biggest problems we see come from people bringing their toddlers with them to this park. Some dogs jump on the kids, lick them, knock them down trying to play. Park rules are rarely enforced. More police presence would be good. Signage is inadequate.

What a great park to have nearby. The lake trail is very pretty and gives you something more to look at when walking. The of leash dog park is always busy and very large. I loved the fact there there is a full 18 hole disc golf course here as well as a regular golf course. My only request is that the city instal lights around some of the trails or in the dog park.

Not much for scenery and often sketchy looking people around. Would not feel comfortable unless with a few other people

I love this park. Very clean and beautiful, few shelters with few playgrounds. It has a nice lake in the middle and trail around.

Fun course and some holes can be challenging. A very nice course and well kept! Sometimes the guys behind the counter move a we bit slow!

They just renovated the dog park but I will continue to go to Shawnee Mission because the area entering and around the water is just a big mud pit! I witnessed a 70 yr old man lose his shoe in the mud trying to save his dog that was stuck. Its like quicksand! No water hose to clean off a muddy dog. Shawnee mission doesnt have that problem since they were smart enough to lay concrete pavers down at the waters edge.

Huge park with a big lake and multiple shelters. There is an outdoor play area for the kids. Several baseball and soccer fields to use. Its also a great place to relax and go fishing. Hiking and trails everywhere. I like to bike on the paths and have a picnic. There is also an off leash area for the dogs to play and socialize. The park will well kept and patrolled by city officials.

Start my favorite dog park because thats Shawnee Mission dog park off-leash area but Heritage Park is nice cuz its smaller and has a nice gravel Trail all the way around it theres lots of nice people around. Have a nice bathroom facility to you I think its solar powered even.

My dogs love the off leash park. It is a busy spot, however, it is large enough that even on very crowded days when the lot is full it doesnt feel like there are that many people & dogs there.

Love this park. I mainly go to the dog park which is beautiful and so fun. There is a pond in the middle of the dog park and trails throughout. Also there is a fence around the whole park which makes it so much safer.

Large park with diverse amenities. Off leash dog park, equestrian area, shelters with grills, scenic lakes, fishing, hiking/biking trail, playgrounds, swings, etc.But, not the best park for young kids. The playgrounds available are small and limited. They kept my kid interested for half an hour then he got bored and ready to leave. Also, bathrooms were stinky and dark, could use some TLC.

Review for the dog park:This place is great. Its all well fenced in, theres tons of space for the dogs to run, the pond is super fun for them, the sidewalks and paths are in great condition and always well kept, there are plenty of poop bags and trash cans around, and (unrelated to the park) everyone is just super nice there. Ive honestly never had a negative experience with anyone there, and you interact with lots of people and dogs. I guess thats just what you get with dog people!The only suggestion I would have is getting a beach-style sprayer on the side of the bathrooms to spray the dogs down a little bit with. More than once Ive gone home with super muddy dogs in my car after playing in the pond.

Nice flat trails without any gradients. Very scenic. If you are looking for shaded trails, then this might not be your place.

Heritage has been a great soccer park for a long time. It has not really kept up with the newer soccer parks have like Scheels and Swope Soccer Village. Some fields are a little funky with the slope of the hills. Heritage gets heavy use and the fields dont seem to get time to recover. Some down time would be nice to give some grass a chance.

Soccer games for the kids. You can almost always count on it to be windier and 10 degrees cooler than anywhere else. Grass fields kept in decent shape. Can be a pain to leave due to minimal exits.

Love this park. It is not crowed at all, so we can have a nice family picnic and not be interupted.

Its beautiful! trails, pond, dog park, clean bathrooms, lots of shade and windy. Picnics, bday party,or any event we love it.

Nice off leash area to walk the dogs. They have cement and gravel paths. Pond area for letting the dog swim. Lots of grass area for the dogs to run.

I actually play football here and they keep the grass in really good shape, the only issue is that the numbers for the fields is hard to find, but still its an amazing facility.

Whether learning to sail on Shawnee Mission Park Lake, playing softball or basketball in a recreational league, or just finding a peaceful space to get away from it all, we encourage you to take the time to explore and enjoy each and every one of the parks and facilities.

This is for the soccer park. The field are ok, sometimes they are well maintained and other times they are not good. Concession stand is far away from the fields on the edge although prices are very reasonable.

Decent softball fields. Keep mowed but need some leveling.

This place is set up for soccer and it is huge and there are a lot of participants at the same time its like going to a Chiefs game so parking is definitely a problem but the fields are nicely groomed the referees A well-dressed and clean and well mannered and Renner organized fair game its a lot of fun

This is by far my favorite park to be at in Olathe. The lake is beautiful, and there is a mini island that you can walk to.

Even on a gray, damp day, the Heritage Park is a respite, with a nice dog park, several ponds, playground and picnic area.

Its a very huge park with a lot of shelters and several waterbodies. Very apt for cozy get togethers or parties especially during summer.

Compared to other venues in the area, it was poor by comparison. Grass, which was nice, but unlevel fields & inconsistent grass heiight. I was told they are getting a make over next year, but...

They need surveillance. Weve had issues with unattended dogs in the park (owners dropped off and left) that were aggressive, forcing us to leave twice. Stopped going as a result. We may go back with video recording on constant in the future, and mace, depending.
