Buffalo Bill ranch state park. The grounds are well kept. Nice walking area. His home and cabin is on the property. There are pictures and many other things to see.

Nice property. Make sure you go into the barn and all the other out buildings. Go see the buffalo and then go see the three sisters garden and the cows. The mansion wasnt open when we went, but its still gorgeous on the outside!

This is probably one of the most iconic photos floating around instagram these days. Its a cool permanent installed in front of the Buffalo Bill Ranch State Historical Park Museum. It basically is a bunch of light posts.

Went last night and had a great time. It was beautiful! There was a light snow falling which made the lights seem to twinkle a bit brighter. They offered hot apple cider, suger cookies and roasted chestnuts on the tour outside. Seeing Santa in the cabin was awesome! Hats off to all the volunteers especially the gentlemen doing the horse drawn hay rack rides. Thank you for a wonderful evening.

Stopped by on our way to Omaha, only expecting a picture from the outside. Ended up with a full tour of the house by Cody!He shared great stories that brought Buffalo Bills history alive. The collection is a must see, while the caretakers/curators are a sunny delight.

House was cool to look at, and the barn was impressive. Staff lady was friendly. The barn was impressive. The house fee and the separate state park parking fee is silly, but everyone needs to make a buck these days.

Please update your site with the correct hours for touring the house. We drive 100 miles, trying to time a visit there because it said it opened at 8am, but we had to wait until 10am to tour the house. It added 2 more hours to our very long trip to Denver.

I visited Scout’s Rest Ranch in July 2018 and it was a wonderful experience. The docents were welcoming and the Second Empire mansion that Bill Cody built is beautifully maintained and full of memorabilia. The ranch itself is a sylvan paradise and the barn is an experience in itself with photos and posters from Buffalo Bill’s Wild West. The baby buffalo with his parents added charm. I am so glad the State of Nebraska bought this property and keeps it looking spiffy and authentic. Mr. Cody planted cottonwood trees and they are still thriving. One extra pleasure was seeing Frank North & Bill Cody’s original log cabin that used to be located on their ranch near the Dismal River. It’s rustic and adds to the property’s allure.

This was Buffalo Bills retreat from touring in his Wild West Show. The property contains his home, barn, and a small log cabin from days gone by. The Victorian-styled home is well kept and each room contains a lot of historical items from Buffalo Bill, his family and friends. Lots to see and learn here. The barn is HUGE and also contains memorabilia from the Buffalo Bill days. Other than that, there really wasnt much else to see here.
