Cute place but with very short trails that are filled with ticks. The two community gardens past the soccer fields are nice. The canoe launch/dock and boathouse are cool. Plenty of parking on lower and upper levels but be very careful pulling in and out as drivers on very busy road do not expect or see you pulling out of semi hidden driveways of parking lots.

Beautiful reserve area with wildlife. Water very shallow at many parts. The narrow western entry to Cow Island Pond was not deep enough for a kayak to pass. Your trip may end earlier than you planned. More a place to enjoy the wildlife than a paddling workout.

Nice, easy paddling spot. No crystal clear water, but cute turtles were sitting on some of the logs near the edge of the river. Quiet secluded ride.

Wonderful park. Wacky trails. There’s a community garden, a field, tons of trial and a river. It’s pretty good for bird watching. I once saw one of those rare-ish orange birds which was pretty dope. This place really has it all

Beautiful scenery, calm waters. Water looks more dirty whereever it is stagnant. Nice place to kayak.

Remarkable - an urban paddling sanctuary with (big) herons and white egrets and Rt 128 buzzing by on the other side of the tree line.

Great nature experience for the family. Actually saw an otter within Boston city limits. Hawks were hunting, dragonflies were getting it on, and turtles were everywhere enjoying good vibrations from the sun. All of this occurred while hundreds of city-folk were crowding the river with rentals.

Canoe and kayak rentals by Paddle Boston let you explore a serene section of the Charles River upstream (south) of the park.

Not a great launching spot for Kayaks if you have your own as they cater more to the rentals and long lines form to get access to the dock.
