Very nice, quiet and shaded. The bait shop is awesome with shopping. This is a great place to spend a hour, a day or a week. Wow, just wow.

Nice lake! Not to many fish! Hey kass! How about cutting down that big dead cotton wood on needle point before it falls on some one!

The park and camp sites are nice. The bathrooms on the east Bluestem loop are flush toilets.The sign states that quiet hours is between 10 and 8. There were cars and trucks driving up and down the road until midnight and again after 5 or 6 am. The most rediculus part was the road grader driving around at 7 in the morning.

Beautiful. Decent facilities. Reasonable camping rates. Multiple swimming areas. Doesnt smell great, but not bad for Kansas.

My boys and i love it there! Once my sister and our 5 kids were locked out of the car and the guy that stays there helped us out. He was a blessing. Also no stickers and it was a fun time can also bring your own grill if you want!!!

Only $20/night with elec. No water or sewer. Had to do the self service which required cash. Had to drive to Newton to get cash. Bathroom was old but clean. Same for shower.

Good swimming area. Free day use. Great for the kids.

Definitely a good lake to go to! Definitely the better of the two near Newton Kansas. Has multiple swimming areas and the scenery is nice!

Fantastic camp sites. My personal favorite is no reservations like all the big state parks now. First come first serve. The way it should be. This will be where I camp from now on.

Its close to home and pretty. Small but pretty, the fishing is ok and I enjoy my kayak there

The swimming beaches are nice and clean and the water felt great. The sand is not rocky at all and great for little ones to play in. The area near swimming had restrooms with running water, showers and all that.

Is a nice get away and I like it more now because is so quiet no drama fighting or anything like that and the fishing is not bad I caught 5 catfish tonight

We had a great time. The park rangers do often patrols and they are really kind to people, the lake have had cleaner days we picked up some trash that stupid dirty people left behind and the bathrooms had a daily suply of toilet paper but no soap, and they had clean water available to everybody so it was a nice catch to find the spot even at a busy weekend like this one

Love this hidden Kansas gem! Theres lots of wild life to check out. We saw lots of turtles and a few snakes while kayaking. Cant wait to get out to go camping!

What a great weekend. To my surprise even tge bathrooms were well stocked and clean. It is definitely a great place to take your family and friends. The park rangers were nice and the camp host was definitely willing and able to help your stay be fantastic. Thanks Harvey county East lake staff

A really nice place

This place is always amazing. Between the RV parking and the Picnic area. I recommend this place if youre looking for a quiet place to relax for a couple hours in nature. Or a couple days either camping (tent or RV).

Perfect..... Was quiet and relaxing..caught a lot of fish...MOST IMPORTANT. The bathrooms were always clean, and had soap, paper towels, and toilet paper. We were there 3 days and hated to leave...

Great beach, nice distancing

This is a good lake for camping, boating/ small sailboats and fishing. The sand at the beaches doesnt go out quite far enough for me but good swimming. I wont tell you about my fish catching spot the trick is catch some thing besides bluegill.

Beautiful park, clean lake, great fishing and water activities. Bait shop has a huge selection and owner is tuned into best fishing spots and what people are catching.

Love coming here for any occasion whether its a family gathering or just wanna go fishing or swimming.

Very very nice & clean lake and campsites. If I had to critique one thingit would be that they only have two campsites that are 50 amp.

Though I went while it was windy out, I would say the campgrounds look nice and the fishing was a little slow, but now that I think about it the time of year has more to do with that

Is a Nice Clean Park

Great place to relax and enjoy natural beauty with family and friends. If you are lucky you may see the resident eagle, beautiful sight to behold! plenty of campsites all the way around the lake to view from various angles, plus pavilions for picnicing, slides and swings for the kids, and even a couple of beaches with sand and roped off swim areas. Fishing, watercrafts, plenty to do and enjoy and normally not too crowded outside of holidays. Great spot!

Great place to camp only reason its 4 stars is the bathrooms including showers need to be cleaned better. Suggest bug zappers outside to help control the large amount that are inside. Walls and floors need pressure washed to keep it cleaner. Staff there are fantastic, friendly and professional. I will return

As far as Kansas lakes are concerned this one is decently maintained. The lake itself offers swimming, fishing, basically anything a lake would offer. For boating purposes I would say this is a descent lake, however, it is rather small. The grounds are mostly kept up, but I would recommend swimming shoes because of potential broken glass in the area. Its okay, overall.

Smaller, quieter, cleaner. This is my preferred summer hangout with friends.

Lake is great and close to town. But the County needs to maintain it better. They easily could drag the sand on beaches once a week or so. That would take no more than 10 minutes with a tractor. The beach areas are infested with stickers and thorns, which make it miserable for children and adults to walk barefooted. Also they allow the nice sand volleyball courts to be overgrown and without sand. For the camping fees charged these simple maintenance tasks should be done. Otherwise people will start going elsewhere and that would be unfortunate!

So, I like Harvey County east lake. I hate the fact that there are only 3 spaces with a 50 amp electric hook up. And, these 3 spots are not in the greatest location. So, I wonder when Harvey County is going to upgrade.

I camped out at Harvey County East Lake and it was truly the worse experience I ever had anywhere. Ive camped from NY to Oregon and shame shame on these people who are in charge of it and run this place.Make sure no matter what u pay only day by day. THERE ARE NO REFUNDS but they wont tell u that and it isnt in any paperwork either.We had tornado weather in a tent and they told us they didnt careThe camp host has a dog with red and white long hair. looking like a weiner dog that runs around everywhere yet, the host runs around and demands dogs on a leash.We were told with 5 kids to keep it down when they played on slides in the middle of the day at 2pm on a Saturday while there were a group of 50 people in their pavilion screaming and yelling playing horseshoes, drinking beer. hence we couldnt hear ourselves think is probably why kids were yelling on the playground (3 and 5 years old remind u)THINK TWICE BEFORE COMING HERE .Jerry runs it and The camp host spends more hrs drunk then sober he fell into his own camper while going in.TERRIBLE TERRIBLE PEOPLENO CELLULAR SIGNAL AT ALLGOOD LUCK or pick a BETTER PLACE

As it gets cooler in the fall. This place becomes a much nicer place to camp and relax. Jet skis are gone, along with most of the loud mouth drunks.
