This bridge is so beautiful, I make a point to walk up every time Im in Newport. Theres parking and beautiful stairs conveniently tucked beneath the bridge and narrow sidewalks on both sides of the bridge. And, no sketchy people under! Score!The photo opportunities are endless, I could have spent hours up here with a good camera. I would not suggest bringing small kids onto the bridge, as the sidewalks are too narrow to be able to walk side by side and hold hands. Well behaved dogs might be okay, but cars go pretty quick and there is little to no barrier between the sidewalk and the road.

The pricing for food was a little steep at the restaurants but the seafood was fantastic. The bridge was fun to cross over to the Hatfield Science Center.

The bridge is an architectural masterpiece. I marvelled at it as a boy and still admire it as a grandpa. The bridge has moods. In brilliant sunlight it looks formal and serious. In fog it evokes gothic mystery. In rain it beckons safety. Way back, the planners decided to build a bridge that would add to Yaquina Bay, not take away from it.

We braved the walk over and back one early October morning. The sidewalks are narrow and a little scarey but that didnt bother us. Ones you get to the top the views are nothing short of absolutely flippin amazing! We were blessed with a clear and sunny sky and i imagine a typical foggy or rainy day would not be as pretty (ok, it would suck...). We recommend going accross on one side and back on the other to get the most of the views. Wear a coat or a jacket or whatever. Gloves too. It gets cold and windy up there!

What can I say that hasnt been said already? Its a really nice bridge. From an architectural standpoint its one of the coolest looking bridges in the country, not just the state. Traffic usually isnt too bad either, in my experience.

This is such a beautiful bridge and the backdrop of some amazing views of the Yaquina Bay area.

Historic Beautiful and fun to Photograph

Awesome crabbing, beautiful views. My husband and I took our kids crabbing on the pier beneath the bridge. We stayed for a few hours after visiting the Science center across the street.

Over the 40 years I have stopped at several locations and painted or sketched this bridge multiple times. Theres just something about the beauty of this bridge that has caught my eye over the years it is worth driving over and walking over. When you visit Newport be sure to drive across this bridge at least once.

Beautiful art deco design, leading to the bounties of the bay. Functional and lovely to look at. You can get a great view of it from the free public pier, Rouge Brewery and the jetty. It offers wonderful views of the ocean, bay, pier, Marina and the boardwalk.

Another of Oregon’s spectacular bridges! We walked across it and back. It was a little scary because the sidewalk is narrow part of the way. I wouldn’t do it again because the traffic freaks me out but I always think about it. Lol!

Another amazing day on the pier looking at the coming and going Id the Bridge. Spent 4 hours crabbing limited on red Rock crab and pulled 8 dungeness over 6 inches across. Made for a great eating night.Over 25 years of amazing memories around the bridge for me. Great place for anyone to visit.

Would it be so hard for the city to put lights on the bridge for nighttime drivers? Its a safety issue that the city needs to look into. With locals on your butt going way too fast it is kinda scary, especially since a lot of people put on their brights in order to see, so you are blinded from in front and behind.

Awesome Bridge. Stay at the Motel 6 and get a balcony room that over looks the ocean and bridge wont be disappointed.

Beautiful view as you drive across. The speed limit of 25 and fairly long distance make for a challenge to hold your breath across the whole bridge. Only one lane of traffic in each direction.

5 out of 5 stars. This bridge makes me want to cry and rock back and forth every time we go over it. That might be due to my fear of heights and bridges, however.If you really like heights and really love bridges, this is the best bridge on the West Coast.

My wife and I couldnt help but admire this majestic bridge while we were having breakfast in Newport. Such a beautiful location across the bay.

Beautiful and fun to drive but even funner to walk. Very high and makes for great photos. Very sketchy with wind, can be dangerous.

Beautiful bridge, but very windy and busy with aggressive drivers if youre riding a bike across. If using the sidewalk, you must walk across only. Cyclists and skateboarders must walk the length of the bridge along the narrow sidewalk. Hard to move past other people coming in the opposite direction.
