We were here about 15 years ago. Our girls were 8 and 10. So many wonderful improvements. Now its a lovely walk to the beach. I really loved the memory wall, the words truly spoke to me. Newport is one of my favorite citys on the coast.

Beautiful view! Nice place to stop and eat while you watch the ocean. We didnt go down to the beach because we didnt have time, but we did take a look from atop the cliff; this is a huge beach with small dunes and plenty of room to roam! Parking lot doesnt have many spaces, and the trail down to the beach from this point is a bit steep; would not recommend it if you have trouble getting around.

Great access to the beach. The parking area has a lookout that is wheelchair accessible. Some decorative sculptures that are interesting to look at. The bathrooms were still open although untidy.

Great park for a simple stroll, looking at the sea, or just seeking a break. We sat on a stone wall and had lunch all the while looking down to the beach. Good times.

The park and beach access are nice but the restrooms need attention. There is never toilet paper any time I visit. I now bring my own. Soap for hand washing is also scarce.

Lots of free parking, beautiful views, bathroom facilities and a wonderful paved pathway going all the way down to the beach!

I like that the walk to the beach wasnt that far. Since it slopes down though, its harder to walk back up. The path also doesnt completely go down to the sand, it kind of stops and then you have to step down (little rocky) so its not accessible for everyone. I had a good time though while I was there.

This was a calm and relaxing beach where you could walk on the beach and keep your distance from other people. A short trail down to the beach kept it from being as crowded as some of the nearby beaches.

This park is a great place to park and watch the surf. In a day without too much fog or clouds youll get a nice view of Yaquina Head and the Lighthouse. Theres a path that leads down to the beach if youd like to walk on the beach. The path is on the steep and long side though, so its not the best place for quick beach access.

Our new go to beach on the Oregon coast. Nice simple walk from parking lot to the beach, small sheltered building to keep elements off during sunset views, had some rocks that made some little tide pools for critter watching. It was busy but it is big so plenty of space for everyone

Soft sand, cool water and an amazing sunset all make for a beautiful day on the Oregon coast. When the tide is out, you can find extraordinary creatures in the tidepools, always a fascination of mine. This is a a great beach for doing anything you want, picnic, beachcombing and just relaxing. Its close to many wonderful hotels, too

Ca

Great view. Absolutely stunning, with beach access. The access is via a longish concrete winding walkway. Its a bit long for really little ones and some older folks, but direct access to the sand and the ocean is only a short distance away. On the walk there is a cute little fake dinosaur bones and memorial rocks with sayings etched on them. The beach is nice, but a common and busy spot. Thats the only downside. Its nearish NYE beach, and the Pac so it gets a lot of traffic so if you want a more private brach, this isnt it. However if you want a beautiful scenery, public restroom access, and a covered gazebo to escape the wind.

I always love visiting this place. You can watch the ocean from a closed in area at the top near the parking lot, through a view finder, or walk down the paved path. There are a couple challenges with the path down to the ocean. It is very steep and gets slick with the sand and water. At the bottom of the hill, the paved portion has crumbled, leaving several feet to navigate over rock and sand before getting to flat ground. Its not a problem if you are able bodied. Its definitely a deterrent for anyone with a stroller or wheelchair. There is an easier access point just a few blocks north at Nye Beach for anyone needing a more accommodating access.

Amazing. But not to many agates to find. the beach, the rolling ocean are always magnificent! Very clean too. Oh and many different options of ways down to the beach with a brick road leading down. Accompanied by lots of tenacious student artist have so generously donated to be enjoyed by the many that visit those beautiful beaches. its a wonderful tourist stop. Along with seal rock not too far south.

The walking path down and up is intimidating but VERY doable! My husband is on Oxygen and we only had to stop and rest once...from walking in the sand to the path. Based on previous experiences we thought the walk up would take awhile...NOPE oh and remember whales eat about the same time we do as humans so dinner time on the coast was as we reached the top Just in time to see whales dining!

Always one of your first stops when we get into new port. The walk down to the beach is nice, but back up is a bit huffy for an old out of shape guy like me. Lickily there are plenty of places to stop and pretend you are giving the ocean one last look while you try to hide your shameful panting.
