New Riff Distilling

These rye whiskeys have become my new go-to recently, but this was my first time actually buying direct. I was just there to get another bottle of single barrel rye, but here there was a choice of 3 different barrels, all with tasting notes! This was a really cool value-add for me. Super easy parking too. Friendship ended with local retailer. Now supplier shop is best friend.

Great addition to the city and must needed stop if you visit the area. This distillery is less than 10 years old, but produces some excellent products. Im a fan of the single barrel bottles personally. We took the tour and had Grover as our guide. He was personable, funny and answered all of our questions well. If visited, keep in mind that they do not produce on Wednesday. We visited on that day, but still saw all areas of operation, plus all of the fermenters were full! Also, the bottling and storage of the barrels is done at a second location. Be sure to stop by the bar for a sample of three spirits for $9.50 (I tried all three single barrels). They also have a happy hour with great cocktail deals. Thoroughly enjoyed this distillery, tour and spirits!

9.50 gets you three half pours of a whiskey flight. Averaging over a hundred proof it’s easy to tell why they don’t give you a full drink. Knowledgeable and friendly staff. No food options available. Small but informative tours are available with complementary tastings at the end. Large gift shop stocked with various merchandise and whiskeys.

Really nice place to have a drink and try some spirits + nice staff, must try the signature cocktails. I took a star because theres not much room to seat.

Although I am not a fan of bourbon, this wasnt half bad and the rye whiskey was fantastic. We didnt make it in time for a tour but glad we could order a sampler. The new fashion was to die for. We loved the naming of drinks on your summer list. Staff manning the bar was fantastic and provided us with other places to visit.

Grover our tour guide was great!!!! The bourbon and gin are amazing. The building and bar area are very modern and beautiful.

Loved my experience here. Would definitely recommend for anyone. Its a short walk from the purple people bridge. The tour was unique and entertaining. We originally had wanted to get into the noon tour. They were hosting a private tour ...so make sure theyve got available spots. We ended up going to get some food elsewhere and coming back for the 200p. They are a part of the bourbon trail - go check them out.

We wanted to tour New Riff’s Distillery after we tasted their bourbon with it’s smoothe buttery -butterscotch flavor. The Distillery is in downtown Newport, Kentucky and a tour costs $10 but then you get $10 off your purchase in their gift shop. New Riff followed all COVID 19 precautions and our tour group only had 6 guests. Grover was our tour guide and he quickly made us feel welcome. We had a lot of fun tasting bourbon with him because he could quickly gage our knowledge of bourbon and find New Riff products that fit our tastes. By the end of Grover’s tour, we felt like we were family and wanted to come back for a visit.

We loved this place! We got there not realizing we needed a reservation to tour but they squeezed us in one anyway. It was very informative. Our guide was super nice. The bourbon, rye & gin were all delicious. The tour is $10 but then they give you a $10 off $25 token to use in their store so its really like its free! Youll want to buy at least one bottle anyway!

Great tour and guide. Katie at the bar has some creative and very good drink recipes... And both bartenders are helpful and welcoming. Wonderful experience for someone that has been on many distillery tours. Oh bourbon and gin are good as well.

Work event brought me to the New Riff Distilling. Had a glass of the Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey and it was very smooth and had a great taste. The cost of one glass is a little steep but it is a high quality whiskey. Our event was held in the Tower Room which had an awesome outdoor patio, and was just a fantastic location to host a big gathering. Bar tenders were awesome, fast, knowledgeable and conversational. The one drawback and I dont believe the people that catered the event were with New Riff, was the food was just ok. Nothing real special about the food that was served, but again it may not be under any control of New Riff. So, with all that said, I score this place a 4, and I do recommend a visit!

Order ahead cocktail and curbside pickup is awful. They were 25 minutes late and gave me a rotten, mushy lime. Told me theyd include a future discount for my wait but nothing was in the bag. No recipe. Do not recommend.

Only the gift shop is open right now thanks to the quarantine. Its a small shop but if you enjoy bourbon and/or rye whiskey its big enough. Theres 3 different single barrels with tasting notes to choose from of both rye and bourbon(6 total). They also have their Bottled in Bond available, along with different glasses and assorted tchotchke. Im happy I stopped by.

We decided to take a tour of the distillery to see what bourbon they had to offer. As it turns out at the time we went on the tour they have not aged the barrels long enough to start distribution of their bourbon, due out in the end of 2018. Stuart was our tour guide,his knowledge of the distillery process and bourbon was vast and could easily taken the tour into 2 hours. Grateful the tour was only 45 minuets which also includes a free tasting at the end and a peek at their Event Center for parties. The end of the tour puts you back at the entrance where you can wet your whistle with Gin, and bourbon drinks, or purchase some Merch. All in all a great experience!

Caught the last tour of the day by chance and truly enjoyed it. Learned a lot about the distillery process and tasted the product in process. Good tasting stock. Signed up to be a Ranger so I can be involved in the process and can taste future products.

Very interesting twist on a craft distillery and the rental area for events was the icing on the cake. Tour guide was great to interact with and made us feel at home. Lots of great information. Would easily be on my list of recommendations. Now I just want to rent the event space to stay in instead of a hotel!

As a wedding planner, it takes a lot for a venue and staff to impress me. I cant even begin to describe the AMAZING staff at New Riff. Meghan was a huge help and always very responsive to questions and emails. She went above and beyond to make sure everything was in place perfectly for the couples wedding day.The ceremony and reception were at New Riff and again the staff the day of was top notch! They showed extreme patience with guests and were always polite.I will always refer my clients to New Riff and I look forward to having many more events there!

The place is built on top of a natural underground water spring. The single barrel is great. Their very new in the bourbon market. A must stop at when passing through.

New Riff Distillery is a beautiful venue for a wedding or party. We had our reception here and barely brought any decorations or flowers because it already looked so great. Their bourbon just came out and it is fantastic. They do tastings and tours as well. Right next to Party Source which is the biggest liquor store in Kentucky. Stop in if youre in the area and are looking for something to do.

FANTASTIC!!!! One of the best tours Ive ever had of its type. Super passionate staff. Great folks. Delicious Gin actually. Cant wait to try the bourbon. Really dedicated to making a great product. The actual distillery looks like a great place to hold events too.

Last time a was here I got a generous sample for $2. This time I got a well measured 1oz sample for $3.75. Two samples and youve paid for a ¼ liter. At $3.75 per sample at a distillery... Ill not be back. The gin is good but the bar prices are rediculus.

Awesome distillery tour and an even better product! Alina, our tour guide was truly excellent and not only educating our group about bourbon and the production process, but also relayed a captivating narrative about the ethos of New Riff. I will be a fan of this company for life!

Great whiskey, awesome tasting bar, solid distillery single barrels

How unique they actually use a marketing tool out of a tall copper still. You couldnt miss it, and so the tour will have picture worthy times for you to shoot. The upstairs top story area is open for rent with a decent bar area to be used. Weddings and business meetings will enjoy the view...well sort of.

Stopped in to pick up a bottle of the New Riff Kentucky straight bourbon that I had a pour of the night before. Good stuff! Bartender was knowledgeable of the product and very friendly. Cheers!

AMAZING!!!! My husband and I went on a private tour as part of our anniversary. Our tour guide was John Gaff and he was AMAZING!! He gave us an experience that we will never forget. He was able to answer all of our questions and had extensive knowledge about the industry, process and taste. We will not only be purchasing the Ranger, but I intend to bring my friends down for a tour soon as well. I cannot express what a wonderful night it was, ask for John Gaff and Thank You New Riff!!

My son and I went on the tour. It was short but we both walked away with an even more appreciation and a better understanding of all things bourbon. New Riff is a great addition to Newport. Im excited to try their own bourbon. Their own gin has got to be the best Ive ever had!

Awesome urban distillery, very clean and well designed. Friendly tour guides give a fun free tour. Looks like a great place for an event. Taking off one star because I feel their bourbon is a little more expensive than it should be.

I dont understand the hype or the price tag for this ho hum bourbon. Not impressed and firmly believe there are options out there that are better quality and far less price. Not bad for a first attempt but definitely not a seasoned bourbon producer. I would even say old grand dad would be a better quality bourbon than this swill. Yawn.

Went here for a wedding reception, and it was lovely! A good blend of cool hipster bourbon bar (without being too pretentious) and somewhere you would gladly take your parents. Great for group events and receptions.

Went to a wedding here and the Event Space is AMAZING. Plenty of room with sliding garage doors that open to a massive outdoor seating area. I would also recommend walking through one of their free tours!

State of the Art Facility with a top notch tour and great tour guides. Cannot wait for the bourbon but in the meantime have really enjoyed the New Make, Wild Gin, weddings special events and O.K.I. Bourbon. A must see if you are in the area!

Completed the Bourbon Trail but this was my first stop on the Craft Bourbon Trail. They will bottle there first batch of their 4 year bourbon fall of 2018 so they have OKI 12 year to sample (which is good stuff!) and currently they are making several gins. The tour is still informational, its a gorgeous place and has rooms for weddings, parties and meetings.

Incredible tour of the New Riff facilities. The staff are really passionate about their distilling and it shows in the hands-on tour. I really enjoyed the attention to detail and how he made the tour personal for my friend, who also happens to like gin. An absolute treat that I will definitely be sharing with my friends!

Absolutely stunning. I was here for a wedding reception and the entire facility was incredible. What truly made the night was the staff and the view from the terrace/rooftop area. Im from out of state, but Ill definitely be coming back here when Im in the Cincy/Newport area.

Definitely a place to stop by if you are visiting the area. Lots of local breweries but the staff here is remarkable.

They dont have their own whiskey yet (maybe check back in a year) but otherwise the tour was interesting and fun, if a little short

We did the distillery tour here and it was a great experience. They took us around the place and showed and explained all the processes involved in making bourbon and some other spirites. To conclude, all of us got a shot as well :)

New Riff is pretty cool! The tour was free, and our guide was knowledgeable. That said, be forewarned they wont start releasing their own bourbon until August/September 2018. In the meantime, they bottle and sell KOI that was made by Seagrams in Lawrenceburg. Found out the owner of the distillery previously owned Party Source as well. Will definitely go back once their own bourbon is readfy for sampling.

This distillery shares a parking lot with the Party Source and is a very impressive building. The lobby opens up to a small shop and this distillery offers a free tour that includes a tasting. This distillery is included in the Kentucky Bourbon Craft trail and is the closest to Ohio.I really enjoyed the tour and our tour guide was very personable and informative. He let us know that true New Riff Bourbon will not be available until 2018 and that they currently sell and taste OKI bourbon. OKI bourbon was purchased by New Riff from Seagrams. It tastes pretty great but I am interested to re-visit New Riff and taste their bourbon once it is finished aging.They also bottle and sample Gin as well as bourbon barrel aged Gin as well. I was very impressed with their Gin. The floral aroma and smooth taste was wonderful. We even had the opportunity to try their shrub which is a great mixer they offer as well.They have 2 stunning event spaces to rent, and they partner with the party source for alcohol rental.I will return in 2018 to sample their bourbon, but I was very pleased with my experience here.
