Very cute little beach with calm waters, not crowded on a weekday. We parked right up to the beach. Theres a good amount of kayakers launching in the water here. Only drawback is we couldnt anchor umbrella in the sand..too much hard clay. So if you stay awhile you will need a diff type of shade.

Fantastic place to launch SUP or kayaks. Bathrooms are fairly clean, especially earlier in the day. Kayak rental available. Free parking, though be careful to avoid those sandy side spots as cars can get stuck. Swimming is not allowed outside the tiny beach area, not that anyone would want to since it is a wildlife preserve with birds galore. Be ready to see lots of jumping fish, little sting rays, and brings snacks and cold drinks.

Easy access to water/bay with a dirt parking lot but it does get crowded on a Summer weekend. Its also basically a baby beach since there are no waves.Dirt parking. The aquatic club that shares the space is $65/month last time I checked.

A small beach that is perfect for families with toddlers since it’s part of the Bay and hence it’s flat and very shallow. Has lots of tiny fish and shells, rocks to climb and explore and a paddle boarding and kayak store with bathrooms, showers, a vending machine and a big parking lot. A wonderful spot to spend a few hours with small kid’s waddling water and exploring nature while the teens and adults take turns enjoying some water sports and exploring the wonderful wildlife that the canals on the Bay offer. Make sure you don’t miss the lots of rays that live on the the marshes across from the beach. The flying fish are huge and also a must see. You can also explore the mansions from the water, but that wasn’t too exciting and there are lots of boats on that side of the bay. Also, bring food or get ready to go across the bay for some as we didn’t see anything accessible on foot near the beach.

Despite the name, this is not really a beach for people to spend the day at -- this is a free launch for kayaks, canoes, etc. There are public restrooms at the rear of the Newport Aquatic Center building. This is a great entry into Newport Harbor for those of us who enjoy paddle sports. The Newport Aquatic Center, which is right next door, has gear for rent, as well.
