Newport landing is outstanding. Great food, great service and a very cool view of the bay at night. Our waitress was hilarious and kept us laughing all night long. They even upgraded our reservation to the second floor balcony because it was our 25th anniversary. Very nice place.Definitely worth a try if youre in the area.Cheers.

This historic building still stands out like the centerpiece of Newport Harbor. The Balboa ferry comes in from the island and you have the fun zone with restaurants and boat rentals here. Always a beautiful sight, especially at night from the water.

Love being here! Beautiful views of the harbor, boat, kayak, bicycle rentals, harbor boat tours, whale watching and so much more all just feet away! Go to the harborside restaurant for their all day happy hour in the bar all week long. Great prices on wonderful food!

All restaurants are open for service. If you are on a budget look for restaurants that are cheaper on the side not the ones in the beachfront. Also if you are renting a golf cart and want to save half the money look for a chubby guy on the side of the streets and he will give you a great price. It wont be difficult to find him because the island is not that big and you will find him sitting on a golf cart.

Not too great. We ordered a well done burger but got medium rare. When asked to remake it they changed attitude towards us.

They oversold the seats I think on this boat because there wasnt anywhere to sit on the outside or in. Stood the whole way, but the lights were amazing to look at. Beware! They dont call it hot chocolate for nothing! A lovely way to spend the evening ️

Fast and Easy. Would recommend going to Catalina! The water is great during summer time. Snorkeling is definitely a must. Kayak out of Avalon to the left for some less people populated spots.

Enjoyed their boat rides, met some sea lions and purchased some great souvenirs the weather was pleasant and we had a great day. Also their little fun zone is great if you have kids, they get entertained and parents get to relax. I loooovvveee those beach waves

This is a fun place to wander, eat and play with your friends and family. Theres plenty of shops, food vendors and a few rides. You can eat at Newport Landing overlooking the pier and then head down for ice cream.Whale watching also launches freedom here, so if you have a tour scheduled, leave time to check out the area!Parking is available by the hour or metered.

Harborside Restaurant: We have come here twice within 2 weeks! The fish was absolutely ah-mazing, so we just had to bring our sons back the second time, and they wholeheartedly agree! Its hard to find fish dinners this good Anywhere! And the view of the bay is a delightful bonus!

The Food was Magnificent!! I was there for My Nieces Bday, My Mom and I both ordered the Shrimp Cocktail..Wow! The Mussles were Delicious and the Appetizers...The Best!!Definitely visit this Place, you wont be disappointed

It was the only restaurant open late after our boat cruise but with Happy hour menu it was very beneficial for my grandkids. For picky eaters this was great and l would definitely go back for dinner

I work in the Harbor I enjoy it very much its been very scarce of people and boaters very serene until yesterday April 24th it was very, very hot and crazy crowded, people were NOT social distancing.Boaters had 10 or more persons aboard and obviously non family members on most it was out of control if you ask me. If people do not follow the social distancing they WILL close the Harbor.

Food wasnt all that it was cracked up to be. Waiters were arguing whos table was whos in front of the guests. It took a long time to get drinks. In fact our food was served shortly after ordering both at the same time. Wouldnt recommend.

Harborside Restaurant is EXCELLENT . . . not only nice views of the harbor, but GREAT food, as well. The Rack of Lamb is AMAZING - tender, juicy, & delicious - and, actually, less gamey than lamb Ive had at other restaurants. The Harborside Burger is also excellent. The servers are very friendly, accommodating, and responsive. Weve also never had to wait to get seated . . . and they have a very reasonably Happy Hour, until 7pm, 7 days a week!!! Well DEFINITELY be back soon. Rather than drive all the way down the Balboa Peninsula to get there, we just drive on to Balboa Island, from Jamboree, and then takes the very short (couple of minutes) ferry ride across, which only costs $1 per person . . . totally fun and worth it!

Disappointed no whales! Then, 2 HR parking tour is for 2 1/2 hrs. Parking meter is programmed for 2 hrs. Come back and a $25 parking ticket! Will not return!!!#

The atmosphere is superb at this famous restaurant. The food here is absolutely fantastic and service is always with a smile. When you have room they have a great desert menu as well. This is a must experience restaurant located in Newport Beach.

Its a great little harbor area. Beachy touristy shops, restaurants, whale watch tours, an old arcade, and a science center for kids. Not huge, and parking is not always the easiest, but its a great place to visit. The staff in the wale watch locations are fantastic!

My family went whale watching.a Had a blast. We got back and went shopping. Great food and box shopping options. Very nice people and great prices. You have to try theDeep fried Twinkies!

My family and I spent the day at Balboa while staying in Newport Beach. There were plenty of opportunities to rent boats or join in on a whale watching tour. Carnival type rides were fun for my little ones while my teens enjoyed the arcade. The shops in the area are really cute and have some unique items available. Parking was easy, however, since it was meter spot we had to go back several times to up our times. They do accept credit cards to meter park so that was helpful. Great trip, we will definitely go back.

Go Whale watching!!!! MUST DO! Buy a groupon- they always have specials on Groupon. We never saw a whale but saw schools of Dolphins that came right up to the boat. We all went crazy with excitement. Adorable experience. They also have snacks and hot coco for sale downstairs

Took my sons on the sunset cruise. We loved it. Sat up on the top of the deck. The evening weather was warm. Boat was clean and well lit. Staff was very friendly. Even had a glass of wine. Wonderful night.

Finding safe, legal, inexpensive parking anywhere near this place in a timely fashion is practically impossible. And the problem is made worse by the fact that most of the local streets are one-way--in the wrong direction!! I recommend that you arrive a minimum of one hour in advance of your planned event just so you can find a parking place. Also, you have to guess in advance how long you are going to stay, and be prepared to pay at least $1.45 ahead of time for each hour. Guess too much, and you will overpay, and you will not get a refund. Wasted money! Guess too little, and risk getting a ticket and/or having to pay to get your car out of God-knows-what impound yard after it has been towed. Kind of takes the fun out of going to the Fun Zone! My wife and I came for the annual Christmas Lights Boat Cruise, which was fun and beautiful. One caution, however: be sure to come bundled up in warm clothing, as the temperature on the boat with the moisture coming from the ocean tends to feel pretty cold! But thats what its supposed to be like in December after dark! Get a hot chocolate or hot apple cider to help yourself feel warmer and enjoy the experience! Despite the parking situation, its definitely recommended!

Balboa Pavilion is a lovely place to walk to when youre down at the beach.We went and grabbed a hog dog and a lemonade, sat people watched, and I took some pictures of the lovely artwork.

We rented a skiff to go fishing for the day like Ive been doing every year for the last 25 years. The people at Daveys locker are always cool to work with. Overall the pavilion is cool with nice shops and restaurants. Great looking people walking around as well.

We had a Celebration of Life for a revered member of our Community and it could not have been more magnificent. The venue, of course is spectacular. But the service and help was extraordinary. Corey was our main coordinator and WOW did he save the day. Our brains were a little muddled and he stepped in to help with the AV for slides shows, videos, playlists, etc. and accommodated all of our (many) special requests with a calm, caring manner. The room was exquisite and the lunch was excellent. We were proud to honor our dear friend with such a lovely send off. She deserved it.

Always fun to be at the ocean. Went to Daveys Locker for whale watching field trip. Didnt see any whales or dolphins but crew still made it fun for the kids, explaining life in the ocean. Caught krill for the kids to look at under a microscope. They also provided binoculars.

A great little place with lots of shops and food. The parking is a challenge. We caught the ferry over to Catalina from here. Many sights are within walking distance.
