TRAVEL NURSE FRIENDLY!Newport Dunes really took care of my family and I! They got us a last minute amazing spot, super clean all over, LOVED the heated pool and spas (comfortable even in December), marketplace was awesome with lots of options, the activities for kids were great and daily, and laundry was clean and card operated (so convenient)! Even when my job assignment unexpectedly got canceled and we had to leave early, they really took care of us and gave us a great deal! I hope we have the opportunity to come back here again!!! TOP NOTCH SERVICE AND CLEANLINESS!! They take pride in their resort and it really shows!!!
My first time in this resort, we been here for the weekend to celebrate my birthday, we rent the large none front cottage house, it is really private we don’t have neighbors in one side we get close where is the movie night screen, the only thing that I didn’t like was all the camping tents in from our view and some other people bring theirs dogs to poop in from the beach next to our space they didn’t pick up the dogs poop, the price are different for all spaces you need to reserve the day before for any activity.
Fun place to camp. Not to expensive. Lot of spaces that are spread out well so u dont feel like you are crowded. Visitor parking is kinda high but oh well . Winter gets cold there, but still fun. Summer is perfect.
Overall, we really enjoyed our visit! There were definitely lots of people in the campground and on the beach. Maybe about 30-40% of people were actually wearing masks. However, all employees were wearing masks! This is also a very dog friendly place, even on the beach, which is a plus, as we look forward to returning with our dog next time. We enjoyed playing in the water, kayaking and paddle boarding! Next time we will definitely try their water park! Just too many people/kids, for our personal comfort level, while we were there.
Its great for a family day. Its not super deep and it has clean restrooms and plenty of parking spaces. You can take food and drinks. And you can rent fun stuff. My family loved it.
The resort was nice. One complaint would be the dirt spots you park on are very messy. Some other campers were a little wild partying and riding bikes and passing joints to one another. All in all a good trip maybe a little tighter rule enforcement on the partying.
This place was great however it was a battle of the music from site to site. From Mexican, to country, to rap, it was hard to think. At 10:00 pm, it had gotten quiet, but up to that time, its was a little nuts. I would recommend just because Newport Beach, Laguna, and Balboa are close by
We rented the large non beachfront cottage. It left a lot to be desired. Nothing looked wiped down or clean. The loft had significantly stained carpet and it smelled like a dirty dog. But there was very close beach access and the staff was friendly. I would not stay here again based off price and condition of the cottage.
Best place for a first time RVer. I have a 45ft 5th wheel and I had no problem parking in position and the environment there was great
Its bliss...treat yourself to a great day at the dunes...leave room for me, please...then have a great meal at one of the amazing eateries locally...
Just came down to visit friends who were here renting a space for the weekend. Its really nice, lots of types of spaces to rent, decent restrooms, and a nice beach area. Its just crowded in summertime. I would definitely come back with my RV at some point.
Pretty crowded on the weekend, but this place is a blast. The water obstacle course is fun for a wide range of ages. We’ll be coming back
This is a great place, especially during covid, to let your hair down and create some memories with family and friends. The grounds are clean and well kept, the bay is great and the water structures are super fun.My only complaint is theres never anywhere to park.
Beautiful location. Waterfront pull-in sites were wonderful and had a great view.
Stayed here 7/20-7/22/2019. As a first time guest to this resort, I would like to mention a few observations, to future first time guests:1. The site notes rules and regulations that sound incredibly strict and possibly misleading. In person, the atmosphere is not as a controlled environment as the site leads one to believe, its actually very easy going, and fun.2. The beach space is a public shared space! Space on the beach is a hot commodity, especially on a Saturday. As a guest of the resort, set up your canopy/umbrella, and chairs as early as you can. We rented a cabana, which for me personally, was the way to go. Every dollar worth it!3. Alcohol consumption on the beach appears to be a do-at-your-own-risk thing. This did not appear to be enforced at all.4. On a Sunday, most eateries close up shop early. Be prepared for that if you plan on eating out.5. As a guest of the resort, your waterpark experience, and water toy rentals will come at a discounted rate, not an included package deal.6. Our large cottage was a fun experience. Refrigerator, toaster, coffee maker, microwave, toaster oven, utensils, dishes, strainer, and mixing bowls included. No stove, no pots and pans necessary or included. A small table for 4, a couch for 2, and a porch table for 2. The loft is completely a tight space but infinitely perfect for the little kids!!! The restroom was small, with very minimal counter space and limited towels as the website notes. The bedroom, I will include photos, decide for yourself.....5. In conclusion, Newport dunes was a fun experience and well worth the expense to decide if we will return again, or not. The cottage experience was the best, the water park inflatables was fun for the kids, and the cabana experience was an amazing decision. I hope this helps you.
Fun place to take the kids. Lots of outdoor water activities and easy to get to.
Perfect place to have kids paddle out and explore the water without the open sea. Fish jumping out of the water are entertaining.
So much for the whole family to enjoy! The water was calm and safe for our little one, and the older boys loved the inflatables! Great environment, well definitely be back
I have been coming here with family for over 20 years and even with Covid restrictions running rampant, this place is still amazing! Plenty of water sports and other adventurous things to do with friends and family!
So much fun and the water is so calm the littles dont have to worry about waves
Everything is so amazing. The area, the view and more. We could go paddle boarding, kayaking and swim in the water and its amazing! Ive been there many times and each visit is so much fun!
Great place to take the family over the weekend! Also a great place to store your boats!
The cottage we stayed in was in need of some repairs, deck was termite ridden, ants in bathroom and hide-a-bed was damaged. Beachfront, pool and other facilities were very nice. RV campsites looked really good.
I stayed here in early August for the first time. I reserved the small studio cottage (2302) eight months prior. It was a short walk to the beach, pool and mini mart. Our small studio cottage was just big enough for a small family of four. Came with two bunk beds, futon, small table, small bathroom, a microwave, small fridge and one sink. It does not come with any linen or pillows, but it does have a T.V., small A.C. and ceiling fan. The cottage was pretty small, but cozy. The only downfall was that we had to brush our teeth and wash our hands in the “kitchen.”Parking at the small studio cottage was very limited. There is only room for one car in front of your cottage. Fortunately for this unit it sits right next to 7 other parking spots, so if you get here early, you can possibly get an extra parking close by.Our favorite part of Newport Dunes was the beach. You can bring your EZ up, chairs, cooler (no-alcohol), kayaks and get right in the water. They also have giant water bouncers for the kids, but would not recommended any kids under 5 because you get pushed around a lot, and it’s hard to hold your kid from falling.
A bit crowded on weekends but other than that a great place for kayaking and padle boarding
Very nice location but packed in like sardines! Barely enough room to open your awning! And we are in a premium space, not a standard one. Holiday weekend so tons of people. Impossible not to hear your neighbors on either side.Full hookups, but the sewer connection is on the pedestal so it is above ground level! You do not want your sewer house to have to go uphill!!Lots of activities for kids and lots of kids all over. Great weather and friendly staff.
Amazing family friendly place! So many fun activities on the water
Super chill lay back place to enjoy with the fam and your fur babies
Crowded, over priced, and noisy. Most of the folks here are look like low life dirtbags. DO NOT STAY HERE
Went here for vacation and loved it. I highly recommend you come here.
Great place for a family event, camping, glamping, wedding or dor the day. Clean restrooms, tot-lot for the kids and little beach are to cool down and relaxon a hot day. RV camping spaces along with bungalows for rent.
Lived here for 3 months now its great
We really loved it, we will be visiting in the future..
So much fun! Beautiful location!
Try staff was constantly making sure we were doing well, our space was amazing and the views were out of this world.
Great experience! Lots of activities, will be back! The water is calm and fun!
Was just OK. Sand was not as pleasant to walk on; wouldve preferred a cleaner beach with less trash. Playground was nice though. Water is calm and good for SUP. Didnt explore the inflatables.
Was Great I got a trailer from C3RV Rentals and was Perfect Thanks Guys again
Spectacular! Lots of fun and adventure. Were going back for more.
Very nice place but extremely crowded on the weekends.
Great place bring your motor home and have fun
Beautiful campgrounds with lots to do over the weekend with water sports activities and kids activities. A great place for Spring Break, a d especially any time over the summer!
We had a great time here! My family rented the waterview cottage,we stood 2days in a relaxing environment, full of fun activities.
Great place to bike around with the kids.
El Monte RV rental office is in the RV spaces. Good people.
Love it!! So relaxing, family friendly and parking is convenient to water.
Great place to stay at with lots of activities to do.Price - It is in the higher priced range for a RV Site with full hook ups. Front row spot are high $3XX.00, mid row around $2XX.00, last row is about mid $1XX.00 and the biggest you should do in the last row is something thats 22-24ft long.Parking - Guest do have additional parking and can be up to $25 per day I believe. With each RV spot you do get a car/truck space included.Venue - Great place with clean bathrooms, bike paths, fire pits, back bay access, water rentals, waterpark games, pool, bar, food, and so much more.Staff - Friendly staff at the facilities, but can be hard to get someone on the phone when calling in.RV Sites - Clean, well kept up, full hook ups, pick up plenty of tv channels on R.V antenna, free wifi included, and more.Fun place to chill with friends, family, gatherings and more. Highly recommend this place and will come back eventually again .
Way too crowded for someone who prefers peace, quiet, space, and privacy. Nice park, though. Clean, and fairly well maintained. The bay is not the greatest body of water, but it doesnt smell badly. The beach is ok, but Id rather be on the ocean side. Barely any space between sites; just enough to fit a picnic table, and thats it. I wont be returning, and I wouldnt recommend it. But, if youre into crowds, and enjoy having people, their pets, and children all very close by, you may enjoy it.
Over the top Experience from customer service/care to waterfront view!!!
Not crowded, stayed in a small cottage...clean!
Grat place specially for kids. Very much social distancing applied!
So fun just like I remember lots of water toys
This place has so many amenities and is super awesome for familys!!
Its really peaceful and nice place to visit. I recommend it
Always a great place to stay, love this place, been camping there many times, RV, Beach cabins, tent all are great,
Our yearly tradition great place
Great locations n. Easy RV accessStaff was great
Just found out another grandbaby in 2021
Close to lots of shopping and food. Park is clean and has nice facilities. Long term is quiet. Wifi is available.
Quiet peaceful relaxing fun for kids!
Wow beautiful place we camped on the beach. Amazing time. Only bad thing bathrooms alittle dirty and showers do not work . I will rent a cottage next time though. Great place for the family.
Love love love this place!!So glamping camping
Was a great day, sunny ️Sunday few ️people and clean air
Friends and family fathers day weekend gathering. So much fun! Do not hasitate to book your next camping experience. Lagoon and pool not to mention the fun family activities they provide. Come see for yourself! Love it! God is good!
Nice place, but $178 for a campsite? Welcome to Orange County!
Sites are clean and everything was great.
Looks beautiful! Just stopped by to research for an event and now I really want to come back with the kids. Nice calm back bay water (lake like) to have the young kids swim in safely. Hidden treasure in Newport! Only added 2 photos of the pavillion we looked at reserving.
Good as usual. Very nice place to visit!
We just finished up two weeks herePros:•Clean•Pool and hot tub was nice - good temperature• water was decorated beautifully for Christmas• had some activities for the kids (cons would be they never put up what January activities were which sucked since those were our off days and we could have utilized it)•kids loved the park• great store in the park with a little Bit of everything•great laundry area - loved that it accepted credit card. Sad that rust from a machine left a huge rust mark all over my Kate spade comforter. Hoping a dry cleaner can get it offCons:•Sand in site, if I’m paying anywhere near that much for a site, it would be nice if they were all a concrete pad to park on• Power issue was never resolved - open neutral fault kept occurring well using a surge protector, they tried to fix the problem but it was never resolved so we just ended up having to plug into the 30amp without the surge protector instead of the 50amp.• Leaf blowers every morning was loud, and for a very long time. I loved that everything was clean, and we’re up early anyway but it just seemed so continuous•Wifi was great when it worked but it kicks you off constantly requiring you to log on. Very annoying if you are working.• there was SO many dogs around, all barking and barking at each other it was just a lot.•Raising prices for fire pit rentals because it’s holidays is kind of sad. You already have high prices for RVs and increased the the rate to stay there Over holidays. Well I’m on that subject, raising all prices for rentals on a holiday is sad.• Overall price felt very high! It’s too bad we went on a off season and the inflatable stuff wasn’t in because it looked fun!Families looking to do:Disney - we felt this was a decent spot. Disney took about 20-25 minutes.Universal studios - about an hourLegoland - just over an hourThis is walking distance from Balboa Island (14 minutes) where they had great little restaurants, shopping and well we were there a great boat show (110th annual decorating boat thing for Christmas). Make sure to get a balboa bar - they’re famous since 1945!We walked to “fashion island” for a movie, which took about 30-40 minutes and that was a nice walk!Generally speaking this was a decent place to stay, we felt the area ( FOR US ) was a little busy and did prefer the vibe of Oceanside (paradise by the sea) we stayed in last time in the area, but it was nice to try a new place. We fit in our site, but there was ALOT of larger campers a little grumpy because they had to hang out like 5 ft, when they apparently booked the correct size.
Nice, but had weaknesses
Family friendly fun

We have now visited Newport Dunes a couple of times. We have not stayed there so I can not comment on the RV Park although it looks very nice, We have only come to play. while some of our group Paddle board or Kayak or peddle boat the rest of us Kids of all ages 11 to 53 have played in, on, under and over the inflatable obstacle course. As the oldest of the kids I can personally say it is so much fun. My wife really enjoys paddle boarding there as the water is calm.
We are currently staying at this location for a total of 2 months. We decided to come here because, when we called the park, they confirmed that there is a WiFi on site which for us is crucial (work reason). Now we are here, and in order to do our work we have constantly to find a coffee place or an office that hosts us due the the WiFi not working. When we informed the reception about that, they told us that they do not know as they(he) is not an IT person.Otherwise, the location seems nice as well as clean if you think how many people are using the facility on a daily basis. The restroom and shower facility SEEM to be clean as well. Quite crucial im a moment like we are at the moment... The only thing noticed is that trash in the restroom is not removed daily...Personnel on site is very friendly.
Awesome customer service and great food and service
Water was off for a full day of our stay. Overall not worth daily resort fee.
Expensive. Fun place. Many things were closed for Covid.
Great experience always.
Our wedding was great at the Newport Dunes. The Larisa was very attentive towards our wants and desires. Everything went smoother than I thought possible.Thank You
Good water access facility with showers and bathrooms that are clean and plenty of picnic tables.
Beautiful place to come and camp. We were here over the Labor Day Weekend and although it was almost full with campers it never felt over crowded or congested. They have several choices for campsites. Beach front that have white picket fences with gates to access the sand and have lots of room for even the largest trailers and motor homes, mid range sites that are just long enough for some of the bigger trailers but don’t leave too much more room for stuff around the campsite, and smaller site designed for tents and small trailers or small class c motorhomes. If you don’t have a trailer or Moto home and want to spend some time here you are in luck! They have ‘cabins’ that can be rented out. They are spread out across the property so you have your choice of beach front or the backside of the campground. There are also websites where you can rent a trailer or motorhome and they will deliver it and set it up for you so all you need to do is show up!As far as activities go there are many things to do at the campground and in the surrounding area. There is a pool, beach, fire pits, planned activities for kids and adults, movies on the beach, a large water playground set up in the bay, walks, bike trails, electric boat rentals, and many many more.
Needs new owner . Locally people dont like currently run by fools......super over priced and this security is the worst .....dont visit dont stay here. Return this property to Newport Beach city so it run better..
Great location! This was a private party/ car show! Neat water side location for an event. Unique.
Love this place
We stayed at this park for the last 2 months of our stay in California. It is very expensive for the set up. Spaces are extremely tiny and most only accommodate the RV so people have no option other than to park on the road. When we first arrived they had us in a very tiny, very, very unlevel space. We couldnt even get in it due to the people directly in front of us parking on the street. They werent home either so we were stuck with no way to get in our space. The very next day we moved to a bigger space. Every weekend the place fills up so people must really enjoy coming there but as far as living long term its just ok.
Stayed over Fathers Day weekend for 5 nights. Very large beautiful resort located on Newports back bay area just a couple of miles from main Newport Beach area . Had a nice pool and the gate guards were very nice. Thats it for the good part. The bad----this place is 3 to 5 times as expensive is any RV park you will ever stay at. Our spot was not the one we picked, was surrounded by a chain link fence, barely fit our 34 foot A-Class(not enough space to open our awning), and was on dirt!! All that for $200 a night!!! Wait, it gets worse. All the perks like the giant inflatables in the bay and the SUPs and kayaks cost money to use ??? $18 for 2 hours to use the inflatables?? You even had to pay to park if a guest was visiting. The Fathers Day Brunch was $65 per person! The water in the 1st section wasnt working when we arrived, so the bathrooms werent either. And the power was out for 8 hours on purpose during our stay in June?! Also the bathrooms did not require the key # as they were propped open, covered in sand, dirty, and 1 shower was missing a shower head. This place was not acceptable for $200 plus a night.
Had a very good time.
So much fun.. you do have to get there EARLY though
Amazing Wonderful time as always!
Fun for the whole family! Obstacle course is challenging, but not too yard for the kids. Plenty of biking and running trails
Clean and tidy. They do a good job and great customer service. Very nice staff. My only concern is the laundry room with some nonworking washers and dryers. Other than that, we very much enjoyed our stay and will definitely revisit.
Loved the cottages they have for rent.
Not enough life vest
Beautiful facilities. Clean bathrooms.
