Nice family owned business... I had plenty of requests and they met them all, everyone that worked there was very nice and inviting. Loved the convenience of everything, hotel sits right at the end of the pier and across/next to plenty of restaurants and small shops. Only thing I have to say is they could use a little help with the room touch-ups and their overnight valet parking cost extra. Other then that I would highly recommend and will definitely be going back myself.
THE WORST! The elevator malfunctioned then broke completely. The AC sucked so the STAYED hot the whole time and made loud noises ever half hour or so. The windows are all broken. The phone didn’t work. So I have to walk down to say something but no one is at the desk. When they finally walked in I started to talk and he walked away. When he decided to come back I told him all of the issue our room had and he was not concerned. I walked away feeling like I did not matter as a customer. He did send the maintenance guy up who did absolutely NOTHING. Except turn the already horrible AC to low. He didn’t even look at the phone. He told us to just leave the windows closed and said the AC would cool the room off eventually then he left. The room was so dirty. There are bugs on the floor and dirty towels hanging in the bathroom. Lisa Smith was at the desk when I checked out and asked what was wrong with the room but talked over me when I started to tell her. Then called me Karen when I got upset!! If you want to have a horrible time and be treated like crap then stay here. Otherwise save your money!!
This beautiful hotel is in the perfect location of Balboa beach. Customer service was unbelievable! They made us feel like we were their top guests. We were able to check in early to really enjoy the clean, beautiful surroundings. The rooms are updated very nicely as the hotel is older but still very beautiful and clean! Walking distance to restaurants and shops. Looking forward to our next visit. Thank you Balboa Inn!
I have been going to Balboa Inn for 25+ years! My mom and I started a tradition of visiting The Inn a couple of times a year. When my life became more demanding I couldnt go as often so she started taking my daughter in between trips. My mother passed 5 years ago and my sister and I continue to carry on the tradition. I recently took my 3 grandkids to share the experience. Lora remembers my mom and her favorite room. We all feel special when we go. The amenities are great, rooms are quaint and service is excellent, not to mention location location location!! Right in the center of it all!!
Terrible no smoke alarm working in our room during the Irvine Fires. Cold and heat didnt work either. Terrible staff. Stay at the The Bay Shores. Perfect staff. Between two beaches. Much better and complet breakfast. Free cookies. Free beach chairs etc. Nice staff. Easy to work with. Prices better than Balboa Inn. Oh and Balboa charges $35.00 per day for parking and Bay Shore was free.
Ac didn’t work in first roomAnd ac vent was filthy dusty.Second room dust bunnies behind radio phone charger and it is super oldAs last few years of phones don’t fit on charger. Mini Refrigerators on floor. Could be on a nice stand. Also got bit at night inside of knees,Hopefully not bed bugs!
The room was nice. Seemed a lil dated. Had a couple of flaws, tubjets didnt work, sink filled fast and drained slow. There was a loose floor tile and room phone did not work. The veiw of the beach from the room was amazing. The room was close to the beach and close to food shops and other stores.
DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS PLACE! My 1st time and last time I will ever stay at this place! We experienced such horrible service last weekend. We were woken up over five times with false fire alarms in the middle of the night. They have homeless hanging around their hotel. There is no security! Our cars were scratched up by their valet staff! I been trying to get a of their General Manager Michelle since last Sunday and nothing! No response at all. We could of gone somewhere else, but we wanted to give this place a try. Spent close to $500 per night and this is the service and lack of response we get?! We are both very disappointed and at this point frustrated that our weekend getaway was ruined by this place!
Excellent! The room was clean, bedding was immaculate. Room 308 has a cute little balcony over the village area.Dinner at the Italian restaurant 10 stars., the food was the best we ever had.
The view from my room and balcony were breathtaking & perfect. The hotel is romantic and fun at the same time. Literally walked to the beach & restaurants everyday. Other than the air conditioner barely working, everything was perfect.
We were really happy with the venue and the wedding packages you had to offer. Pricing was also very reasonable.
Balboa Inn is a wonderful place to visit. The location is A1, the staff is super friendly and helpful. I wish I would have paid the extra money and book a suite they are on the side of the beach and I expect the rooms are even nicer. My room was decent it looked like it recently got up grades and I was really impressed with the modern look of the room. The fire place worked the cold beach night nicely. We did not know how to turn it in but the bell men was very helpful with getting working. The continental breakfast was a nice touch.I enjoyed eating on the pier at Rubys which is like 50 steps away. You do have to pay for parking, I believe $20 a night and I was not happy with the price.I will still definitely be back again!
Its in a great location, we walked to everything we needed. The place IS pretty run down, youre definitely paying for location. Dont expect a fancy resort and make sure your charged correctly and youll be fine. Theres a funny smell to the building, and its pretty noisy but that comes with being on the boardwalk. My biggest complaint would be I was told at check in the pet fee was $50 for the first night and $25 each additional night but we were charged $50 for both nights, disappointed they would do that to people. We already signed for it and was in the car when we noticed. Just beware.
Worst customer service I have ever encountered. Walked into our room. A/C was broken, toilet was broken. Called for a maintenance man, stated nothing they could do about the A/C. It was cooler outside than in the room. Pictures of room vs. Reality are completely false. Room was so small. Not impressed. Called the front desk to move us and they said they couldnt help me. I immediately told them to cancel my entire reservation. Once I went down to the front desk to return the keys, the staff was very rude and unprofessional. Will never book this hotel again.
This a great boutique hotel in a prime location. The hotel is clean, but not stuffy like you would get from more luxurious hotels. Parking is kind of messy. They offer valet service which is a must. The property was clean and the staff were extremely accommodating. Some hotels make you feel like you dont belong there. The Balboa Inn is extremely welcoming.
Nice independent hotel. The location is great. Also loved the hot tub on the roof. The check in clerk was also very nice. Woke up and watched the sun rise on the beach the next morning. The hotel does need some TLC. Clean but a little beat up in hallways and in the room. Not much hot water. Also the breakfast was definately less than good. Pretty disappointed in that part. Also all the rooms face outward or connect to an outside hallway so it can seem a little unsafe.
The service was great but the Rooms are expensive and it’s not cute as the pictures! Maybe need to upgrade the hotel rooms because the location is spectacular. Kinda disappointed whenever I enter my room but ugh it kinda late & I drive all the way from Vegas!!
This is a quaint place to stay if youre looking to be in a busy area. Parking is not included in the price so keep that in mind that you will be paying to park in the public beach area across the street. I would recommend doing valet parking for a little bit more because Beach parking is very hard to come by. The property itself is very upscale and super clean. There is so many activities in the area along with so many choices of places to eat for anyone with taste buds of all sorts. There is some very upscale restaurants as well as some quick bites plus even some great bars in the area. You can rent Cruisers, electric bikes or series just right at the bottom of the hotel. Lots of good shopping right on the hotel as well.
2nd floor had a lot of visual repair/maintenance items that should be cleanly stored away out of sight. It looked messy. Staff was hosing down the property a good part of the day leaving all the outside furniture and floors soaked with water puddles that did not drain. A little dangerous for slipping purposes. Breakfast is included but it is a little less than a continental breakfast. There was dry oatmeal in a cup, dry cereal in a cup, lowfat yogurt cups, packaged pastry and fruit. Expecting a little more. Location on the beach is awesome and really beautiful.
Absolutely, we will come back again!
The only good thing about this place is the location everything else was bad (we were told we got the better room lol)The bed was NOT comfortable(my back was hurting in the morning), outdated beat up furniture that didnt match lol, broken beat up fridge, extension chords for outlets lol, paint chipping everywhere, no parking (only valet parking for $35/night) or park in the beach parking lot and pay on booth with possibilities of getting a ticket which i did $65!!!, no ice machines, tv controller didnt work, and stained ironing board . This place needs a lot of work still seems like owners dont even care about this place
I have mixed feelings so I would say buyer beware. The photos on their website are misleading. They are of the premium resort side of the hotel. We didnt get that. The first room was dirty, everything was ripped and broken (the drawer to the nightstand didnt stay shut), and it smelled terrible. I asked to be moved. We got a place down the hall. Still very old, but with windows and a view. The hot tub view is also really nice but it was about 96 degrees...brrr.The room had a very comfortable bed and a great shower. I will give it that. The service staff were all nice. However, this place is in serious need of an update. It has a lot of potential. Its almost like someone needs to completely renovate it. The 1960s old furniture with rips just doesnt work.Id recommend checking all reviews before you stay. If you like an odd spot with a great location, and you dont mind wierd old furniture etc, this might just be for you.
Absolutely loved my stay here. The beautiful architecture provides a unique hotel experience that you cant get in chain hotels. The staff was courteous and the rooms were always clean. The hotel is quite literally on the beach and walking distance from many great restaurants.
Nice relaxing semi-outdoor eating area, friendly staff made it feel home-like, great simple food and relatively quick service. Not a fancy place, but a great laid back spot. Would go again.
Staff is fantastic but the accommodations not so much. We could not even stay. Its been a couple of hours since we left and I honestly cant get the breathing clarity nor headache to go away.
Location is the best part ..We stayed here for 1 night to enjoy the beach before Disney. Parking is absolutely awful ..and the valet was less than helpful or professional. (Down right rude actually) The elevator was out of service, so we had to take the stairs with all of our luggage. Normally would not be a big deal, except the stairs had piles of towels in each corner ..making it difficult to navigate with children and suitcases. The room was OK, separate rooms was nice. We did not have any noise issues, as others have mentioned. It was decent for just the one night, but for the price we paid I will not stay here again.Orange Blossom Cafe next door had wonderful coffee & breakfast ..BJs across the way was a great dinner as well. Rubys cafe on the pier is good, and the view is pretty fantastic!
Very nice people and accommodating, very close to the beach
One of the best all around choices in Newport Beach!Staff: 10Location: 10Details: Resort side of the property rooms are much nicer than the main hotel. A large jacuzzi is on the resort side on the 2nd floor as well.Cons: Towels look & feel tired - they should be updated. Small detail like missing knobs to light awitches & window cranks should be replaced. (Then the property would be 5 stars)Note: Parking is not free, but you can save some money by self parking in the adjacent public lot for $19.80/day.
Excellent service. Beautiful set up. A little pricey
On September 1st myself and family had a horrific stay at this establishment. The room we stayed in did not in meet the description on website, our room was complety FILTHY. In fact it was so bad that as soon as we entered our room we asked to be moved to another room because of the poor conditions ($541 a night). The second room given to us also did not meet the website description. The rooms in this hotel are not even suitable to stay in. Ive stayed at many beach front hotels and never have I ever seen such a dump. We were not expecting such horrible conditions, we also could not cancel our room after we checked in due to all the local hotels booked out. Instead we had to stay in this horrific dirty room which was dramatic on our whole family. We checked out first thing next morning, I asked for the Manager to dispute my charges and I was told he was not available until Monday. I instantly contacted my credit card to dispute the payment for the room. This hotel is unsafe and needs to be completely condemned until the building can be renovated. I will be contacting the City Of Newport Beach Building department, Health and Safety Services, and Newport Beach Fire Department. See the attached photos of our stay.Update 12/3/2019 Ive still never gotten a return call from management to address my horrible experience .
Positive: location was great beautiful ocean view on balcony Plenty of room comfortable bed, big tub very clean would definitely stay there again. jacuzzi was awesome you can see ocean view from the balcony of jacuzzi plenty of comfortable chairs. Everyone was nice Negative: should have been more for contenital breakfast
You can not beat the location of this hotel! It’s on the ocean and, walking distance to ferry, Bike rentals next door! We had so much fun on the electric two seater bike! Saw everything in two hours but could have gone longer if we had time! Took an uber to dinner at 21 Ocean then walked home along the boardwalk! Can’t wait to return! Would do it all again! Would definitely return to this property! Staff was great!
Pricey but nice !
My wife and I stayed here a few days during our first visit to California. Yes it was a bit dated, but clean and very nice staff. We will visit here again.
Nothing. Bathroom and room was not clean enough people were nice.
Our room was kinda small, but the location was perfect! We were walking distance from the beach and everything else we could possibly need or want! The staff was all very friendly, helpful, and accommodating. For example, we got to the island at 10am....check in wasnt until 4pm...they gladly held our bags for us so we could start our adventure, while eating breakfast they called and said they had gotten our room ready. We were able to check in at 11am. Fast forward to our last day, check out what 11 am, we had a day of stuff planned and didnt want to have to tote around our luggage, they stored our stuff for us after we checked out. I would highly recommend this hotel even with the small room. Being so close to the beach we didnt spend a whole lot of time in our room anyway.
Great place looking forward to going back
Parking is in between hotel and beach I didnt really like it and its little pricey. To the cost of room add $55 for parking and hotel fee. On the bright side best jacuzzi I ever been too. Also nice clean sandy beach by hotel.
Postives: Beautiful views of the Balboa Pier from first stay, clean rooms, close to Balboa ferry, shopping and family friendly activties.Negatives: While on my 1st stay valet staff service& attitude was impeccable. On my 2nd stay, an exchange I had with valet attendant Samuel was so unprofessional and such a sharp contrast from my original experience. Enough that I wont return a 3rd time. Unlike my 1st trip experience with valet he wore no uniform, never smiled, didnt ask if I needed help with luggage or directions and gave off an overwhelming sense of irritation that he had to do his job.Other minor things, the bathtub could not be used as a tub due to broken appliance on my 1st stay. 2nd stay was a weekend and room situation was closer to the street and noise from bars was a noticable distraction so if you stay, ask for room 332. Maybe theyll fix the bath by then.
The location of the hotel is great. Its very expensive to park valet parking $35 a day. The continental breakfast was very sparse. The rooms are comfortable and clean. I enjoyed my stay there.
The 3 bedroom was perfect. It felt like we were staying in an apartment rather than an hotel. Great location. Loved the available parking. This will be my place for future visits to Newport Beach. Highly recommend, especially if you have a family.
Great location, but thin walls.
This is an old building with old fixtures, wall AC and heaters, but its located right at the water and the pier. Dont expect 5 star amenities or a grand experience, but for the cost it is worth the stay. The location is everything here. You can walk the boardwalk 2 blocks away which has whale watching excursions, rides for the kids like a Ferris wheel, an old school arcade, food and drinks, and tourist shops. Across from the hotel there are several restaurants including BJs, Mexican, and a sports bar at the corner and the other corner is complete with a coffee shop . You can also take the ferry across by car or on foot to the small Balboa downtown area with lots of shops and more restaurants (Thats about a 6 block walk). At the end of the pier is a Rubys restaurant and there is wildlife in and around the water like seals and pelicans. I wouldnt pay an outrageous amount to stay here, but for the 230 to 300 it cost in 2017 thats a fair price. Fair warning, the onsite Italian is not where I would choose to eat as the food is just average and the service can be very, very slow.
They have hidden charges so beware. You’re not told about it but will get charged after your stay. They take your card for “incidentals” but it’s for the additional charges after, read the very FINE print.
Great location, Friendly staff, Great experience!
Little pricey for the quality of rooms. Theres two sections, old and newer. Both are need of a little upgrade and maintenance. 0700 youll start having jets flying over from nearby Orange County airport. Dont plan to sleep in on account of the plane noise. Place is right at the base of the Balboa Pier and a bike path. So the surroundings area will get busy with folks enjoying the area.Continental breakfast is joke for the price you pay to stay here. Better go elsewhere for breakfast. My expectations may be to high, but Ive stayed here four times over the years and I see the value and price gap widening. Not worth the price in my opinion. Its worth a try to stay here, but try to get a room in the newer section. Id love to know if others have my same feeling about the value vs. experience of the Balboa Inn. Skol!
Really nice hotel/rooms. Perfectly placed right off the beach. A little expensive considering we were quoted $347 a nite but for the location alone its worth it being within a few steps of the beach, shops, bars, and other great activities. Highly recommend (but try getting a discount if you can through a booking site, or simply asking)
IM NOT sure why all the bad reviews weve been coming here for over 5 years and its never disappointed. The views from up top are awesome, and the wait staff are super friendly And every every dish weve ever tried has been great.. We will definitely be coming back to this place whenever we come to Newport
Can’t beat the location of the Balboa Inn. It’s steps away from the beach and Balboa Pier. The rooms are clean and well kept. I recommend it for anyone who wants to get away for a weekend.
Beautiful grounds and setting, right on the beach. One of my favorite hotels!
Heather was a great bartender!!! The pizza bread concept they have here is delicious. Highly recommend it. Small little hotel bar, come sit down drink eat then go enjoy balboa peninsula. The restrooms are across the courtyard from the bar so when it rains have your umbrella handy
Be still my heart. The location of this hotel is unbeatable, and the staff was super nice and very helpful. I absolutely loved staying in this hotel.Yes, the basic rooms are a tad sparse, but everything was very comfortable and worked great. I do wish parking was included, but thats just me being sort of stingy. I will 100% be returning here, multiple times.
It is a nice feel good restaurant. The lady who runs the place is so pleasant and nice. Good Italian menu and pretty tasty. Very cool ambience with an Italian style bar also. Right next to the beach and the bike path also. Laid back. They serve the food a bit slowly, so go there with friends or on a date, ready to sit back and relax. Then walk across to the beach or go to the other side of the peninsula to enjoy a 3 minute ferry to the balboa island in the Newport back bay.
A 45 room historical hotel at the base of the Balboa Pier. Built in 1929, it has undergone extensive renovation over the years. Most of the rooms are small, but comfortable. Several very nice courtyard areas on the ground and second floor. Hot tubs on the second floor. Very friendly and helpful staff. Clean, but could do with a little paint touch-up. 35$/night parking. Public parking lots near by. Easy walking to restaurants, beach, pier and fishing boats.
I love that this property... the fact that it is right on the beach.. Good food all around the property, outdoor activities, 1 minuet walk to the beach. The staff treated us like family. Totally love this place!!! A Billion Stars if I can give them.
Absolutely beautiful property and excellent staff. Will fly across the country just to stay here again.
The food was good and the presentation was nice. No hostess to seat us so we kind of wanted in until we saw a waitress. Service was slow, but the company was good.
Nice place...close to everything that I find important! Rooms were motel 6 style.....
Delicious food! Pasta is good and the ahi burger may be the best in Cali!
Definitely pay for location, which is great, the beach is right there. The hotel is older, the people are very nice, but the hotel fees seemed steep for what you got. It was clean, which is important, the breakfast was basic, but decent.
Amazing rooms with an unbelievable view
The Balboa Inn is right on the ocean. We had a very beautiful view of the ocean. The customer service was very good. It is located among a number of nice restaurants and sports bars. I will come back.
The building is old but clean. The flooring could use re-done.
Our rcars I’m was excellent! It was a deluxe room with charm and comfort! One of the most comfortable beds with the fluffiest pillows I’ve ever slept in. The shower was wonderful! The room still had old fashioned architecture that had been restored and wood floors. I would stay here again! The jacuzzi facing the ocean on the second story was delightful!
My husband and I stayed here not knowing about the gay bashing incident previously. Scares me to find out about it later. But I can honestly say the staff seemed very friendly and attentive. We did not experience any homophobic vibes. The room was not great however. It was very scuffed up and not the cleanest. The hallway outside our room was very noisy. We were woke up on many occasions. They need better sound proofing or something. Still, its in a great location, walking distance to everything. That was the best part.
I hate to complain . But Balboa Inn is not the place for me. I usually dont shop around for deals on hotwire or other last minute sites. I thought I would give it a try. The Inn came up for $169 a night, so I thought out of curiosity I would call the Inn and see if they could match it. They did, so I went there. I checked in and went to my room. It was up some stairs and when i opened the door it was dark and the feature or view window looked 15 feet into a brick wall. I have a feeling if i had booked on Hotwire i would have had a better room. After a minute i went back to the lobby and asked them for a different room. The only rooms that were available, were $80 more. I took one of those. I felt i was kind of in a jam, since there was no refunds. Felt like the dark room was used to show people so they would upgrade. The new room had a nice outlook of the ocean. But the room itself at those prices or any price needed a good walk thru by a manager that pays attention to details. The refrigerator had a puddle of water running across the floor. There were dead flying ants on the floor and when lifting a pillow there was a small black bug. Some of the drawers were without pulls and the bathroom needs work. The jacuzzi type tub as advertised didnt work, the handle to switch flow from bath to shower was missing. The drain plug was a screw in type plunger that was just sitting on the side. To work it you inserted it and when drawing you had to get your finger nails under and pry. The cold water on the sink basin leaked all over the counter. One other thing while Im at it. The on/off switch on bed sconces was missing. And oh yeah, it is a no smoking room yet there were cig. butts off the deck gutter. The best part was the Vallet parking, they were on top of that. I really do like southern California and am coming back soon. I usually stay in Huntington beach, and after this experience I will be staying there again.
I have never been to this restaurant but I saw a very disturbing video online today. Three gay men went to this restaurant and were harassed by the female bartender because of who they were. They were then violently thrown out. There was no reason for this. They were doing nothing illegal and simply wanted to be served. Being gay is legal in California and under State Law they should not have been denied service because of their sexual orientation. Just because you do not like gay people, you are still required to obey the law and this you failed to do. You are facing serious charges and you better find yourselves a good lawyer because I have a hunch you will be needing one. Don’t be surprised if the security guard loses his job and gets charged with assault and the rest of you face serious charges for allowing this to happen. And the State of California could very well pull your license and put you out of business.
The location is great. But parking is scarce and you pretty much have to pay for the valet parking unless you want to spend hours looking for a space in the beach parking lot. The continental breakfast was absolutely pathetic. Our room was nice but small. We only had a sliver of an ocean view. It was quite noisy at night as well. Overall it was nice but a little over priced.
There was some construction going on and we were the only people their. We come out of town from Oregon, but over all great food! Great service! Decent prices good drinks. If you dont like noise keep in mind they have a lot of construction going on. If you cand handle that though great food!
The room floors were filthy. The towels supplied daily were dingy and old. Absolutely no guest information in rooms. Very old refrigerator and furnishings in room were old and damaged.Such a great location but a terrible stay.
Very fancy!
TV did not work. Not connected to WiFi. The mini refrigerator looked like one from the 90s, was dirty and made loud noises all night. The Inn is perfectly situated for the beach, restaurants, people watching, sunsets.Hopefully they can be more attentive to there rooms.
We had a great time here for our anniversary trip. Will return!
Location, Location, Location. On the positive side you cant beat this location, right near the pier at Balboa and all the shops and restaurants. The staff was very friendly, and they have a great Jacuzzi upstairs overlooking the ocean. We also appreciated the freshly baked cookies every afternoon. On the negative side we thought we had already prepaid the full amount, including fees and taxes, but were hit with a $24 daily resort fee. Our friends got the same room next door for $100 less and included all fees, and we used the same site to book. The elevator was broken, so getting our luggage to the 2nd floor was a challenge. The room was very basic, we would have really appreciated a chair and table and a remote control that worked. We were hoping to be close enough to the ocean to hear the waves at night, but instead had a view of a brick wall and the sound of airplanes flying overhead. At least one painting on the walls would have been nice. There is a small city parking lot right next to the hotel that offers free overnight parking from 6 pm to 8 am. The big city lot nearby next to the beach charges day and night, but at $21 a day is still cheaper than the hotel valet parking.
Great place right on the water & pier!
This hotel gets 5 stars for location and maybe 4 stars for amenities BUT the first two rooms we were given were not cleaned or partially cleaned. The third room was very clean and the bed very comfortable. We are still not sure what the “resort fee” gives you and the parking is expensive for Orange County, and the breakfast is really sugar pastries and coffee, but the location is excellent so we may return
Great location. A lot to do right in the area. Rooms were very small and nothing special. Have to go to front desk for towels, ice, etc.
Got married right outside and the hotel was great.
Great Italian food and service.
I like the fact that is overlooking the ocean and within walking distance from everything plus the Room that we guy with a balcony was jets breathtaking
Location is great close to everything. Rooms need painted, furniture needs replaced, breakfast is just a hard roll and orange juice. Dogs barking down the hall.
Beautiful location and nice rooms (one was definitely not updated but then was upgraded to a better room). Ask for the ones with the balcony! Great service!
Great location. Rooms were good. But it was extremely loud because of other guests. Walls were very thin. People were partying at all hours which kept us up all night. People were yelling in the hallways at 2am. If we had known this was a party hotel we would have gone elsewhere.
I felt immediately unwelcome when I saw the Trump paraphernalia behind the bar. That’s a quick way to tell customers that if you’re a person of color, a member of the LGBTQ community, or someone whose first language isn’t English....you are not welcome. I’ll spend my money elsewhere.
Fun place. Best part dog friendly
The room was very nice. Loved the woods floors in the room. The bed and pillows are very comfortable. The hot tub was excellent. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend this to anyone and I would definitely stay here again
We chose Balboa Inn because the location was walking distance to the beach. Many shops and places to eat nearby. Room was spacious and comfortable for my family of 3. The service was great, everyone was friendly and helpful.
Great location. Good service. Rooms mediocre.
You cannot beat the location. Beautiful beach and wonderful local restaurants. The hotel could use some updating but Ill stay there again soon.
First the bad. Dont stay in room 216 A or B. I was told these room werent much than two beds in a room. Which, is what we were looking for. But, I didnt realized the quality of the rooms were terrible. These room are located behind the restaurant, have one small window looking at an a/c unit, have old stained carpet, a non working tv, and cockroaches in the bathroom. Yes the price was considerably cheaper than the rest, but I truthfully didnt expect the quality to be that low. That said, the good. After 8 hours in 216B we vowed to never stay again and told the front desk we would check out early and our frustrations with the room. We were offered a ocean view room at a reasonable discount. We were able to move in early and enjoy the rest of the weekend. Room 233 was what we expected from a resort on a beach. Were giving 3 stars instead of 1 star because of the courteous staff and room upgrade. But we did feel mislead on the quality of the first room.
Nice visit. Friendly staff. A lack of good restaurants in the area - the Italian restaurant in the facility is fair - and was empty. The suite was decent and ocean view magnificent. The lighting, fans, heat/ac and fireplace were all hard to get to function. Actually never got them to function. A nice place to try - yet the devil is in the details.....and the details were not impressive.
I had family members who called to book a room for a family event in the area and they didn’t bother booking because the customer service was rude. Another classic example of business trying to do business without customer service.A note to the owners... fire your employees and hire only people who don’t think customers are a burden to their hospitality jobs.
I stepped in out of the rain into a very warm environment with very friendly Bartenders and servers Rachel and Chantel. They made me feel right at home and served up delicious fish and chips from fresh halibut. A refreshing drink to wash it down and great conversation made my night very special. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to friends and family!
It was great experience to discover this hidden Italian restaurant. Joanna has shown extraordinary service and the cram brule was THE BEST! I definitely recommend anyone who likes great service fantastic food, as well as the price. This is it.
Great spot right on the beach with a pier right in front of it. Amazing historic architecture (not the easiest of you have disabilities or mobility issues). Perfect to be near the party scene.
Nice place, employees were super nice. Two negatives....Parking cost an arm and a leg. I think it was 40 bucks a day for my truck to be parked on site. The other which cant be me the hotel but across the street is a bar that gets pretty rowdy at closing time. I was in my room with my young daughter when a drunk was yelling/cussing/fighting outside the bar yet it sounded like it was right out our window. It scared her. Again no fault of the Inns but nobody did anything to quite these drunks down. Kinda left me having to explain to my kid what alcohol does to those that cant control themselves.
Charming, quaint inn by the sea with hidden gem of an Italian restaurant! Grazie!
Not impress my AC didnt work my TV didnt work. Paint peeling off the walls. They had to move us rooms. The bed and carpet was torn, not impressed.... The only plus was the down pillows and a good mattress.
Great place to stay. Ocean view is amazing. Its near shops and restaurants. Highly recommend.
