This place is fun. With TKTS right there to chill out at while enjoying a snack with friends its definitely one of the premier spots to take someone such as friends to in New York City with a really spectacular view. Hotels are also very nearby such as The Marriott Marquis..
Good people watching spot, frequented by both tourists and natives. You are surrounded by most of the dozens of billboard-lights of Times Square, not to mention the appearance of the occasional superhero. On my visit there were a female Captain America and a very Dark Knight. Beware: limited seating during Covid-19.
World famous Duffy Square, very cool in the evening. Everything is in beautiful lights. I recommend this place. I have never regretted visiting this place, although there are a lot of tourists.
I will never go sit on these red steps again. This place has become a central meeting point for protesters in the Time Square area. I got caught twice in the middle of rallies and didnt feel safe. The crowd was vulgar and aggressive.
Its a beautiful place to enjoy the views with your loved ones. It looks much better at night.Go, enjoy and have fun
I would feel safer if there was more of a police presence in these areas. I backed the NYPD fully. Unfortunately because they got cut for overtime, their hands are tied not to mention the one billion dollar budget cut I understand their lack of enthusiasm for their jobs at the present moment. I pray for all concerned that things will improve because when the tourists come back we will need them all of them. God bless the NYPD
Father Duffy statue is located here where behind him, triangular shaped of red carpet stair steps for people to sit. Many people sitting here either relaxing or enjoying seeing colorful big billboards lit-up the buildings around the Big Apple Im sure whoever come to NYC will never miss out this area near Times Square.
Ive never been to a place that had so many people trying to scam me or rip me off. We will go back but we know what were in for next time.
Wow this place never get old is the best ace to admire new York city with all the light
Famous place but I will sit one day and try to see if the world lisent me we need upgrade 911
I advise you take a bike and Carriage tour My children loved every minute of it
A fun place. Even a Must-Go. Iconic Times Square location.
Covid has hit nyc hard, we need some jumper cables.
Its nice to stand up on and look out at time square. But sometimes attract seedy visitors. Security on site 24/7
The iconic steps of NYC are closed for social distancing but when (or if) this whole covid thing ends, be sure you check the steps out and take a break there
I love those stairs, new symbol of NYC. Always happy to go back.
Crowded but lovely to experience what people visiting NYC experience. Im from NYC and I still tour the city as if Im a visitor.Great spot for photos in the middle of the world. INY.
Its cool to sit and have a good time and to take pictures with friends
Got me investigating that gentlemans story. Really interesting I must say.
I would suggest anyone to visit this site in person is a must see attraction.
My teen daughter wanted to visit New York City for the first time so we went there for two days. I think the best way to see this area is at night since that is really when all the signs show their true colors. This place is really crowded with tourists so if you get any anxieties with crowds then this place is not for you. If you get up early (about 06:00) in the morning you get the see everything except the crowds.
Lots of people out with their masks on. Coodoos to the social distancers and mask wearers!!!
Good spot for photography day and specifically night .
Amazing Sushi .Good Quality and great service !!
Its always good to be there every once in a while.
Empty now during covid, so a different experience, but a fun place to watch people during normal times, almost every tourist to NY ends up here at least once. Not different from what you see on TV
A lot of great bright advertising. various disguised as superhero characters
A beautiful city in terms of buildings and streets. In short, I hope to live in it️
Amazing place! But too crowded (of course)
Nice place to take a break and grab some food
Statue in the middle of times square. An amazing scene for pork photos that youve never forget.
This is most famous place in NYC.Nothing to say everyone already knows about it.
Not as crowded but still has plenty of personality.
Best people watching spot in New York City.
An amazing place that everyone recognizes
This is the most beautiful night place in NYC. Turits are year around
Nice place to take pictures it is pretty quite but is just normal for the pandemic situation
Its closed off right now on the stairs area and this area is usually pretty crowded
Excellent at the end of Times Square really the Best View of Times Square. Lots of really Good Places to Eat. In the Winter just stand on the grates and the warm air from the Subway keeps you warm.. Five Stars *****
The most visited part of times square
Awsome place. Lively all the times
Cool location for any kind of pictutre, i live nearby so I posed with the year numbers before thwy put them up below the ball drop
The father Duffy square, which is essentially the times square steps is almost always super crowded but the fun place to visit. The place is at a walking distance from the Subway station and has too many things to do, like eat various cuisines, do shopping or just hand out on the numerous table chairs spread around the area.
One of best place in NYC
Father Duffy Square? It was always Time Square.
Fun and funky, and bring your mask.
Great place to chill during quarantine
With all the social distancing and all, there is space for yourself
Great place to see times square and click photos. The down side is its always very crowded. There is also no easy to find parking space around. Use public transport if you can for ease.

This is the epicenter of tourists in NYC. A very unique place to visit in NYC.
Just sit there and watch others..Better than spending time on FB
Witness a charismatic peaceful protestVery inspiring!!!!!
Very polite and helpful.
A very popular people watching spot for tourists.
Love Time Square
Excellent relaxation spot.
Father Duffy Square is a triangular shaped square just north of Times Square between 45th and 47th Streets and Broadway and 7th Avenue. This is a small public space and pedestrian area where you find a staged platform area with views of Times Square to the south. You can take a seat upon the stepped seating area at Duffy Square if there is room to be found. Very busy with tourists through much of the day and night, this is a great spot for elevated views and pictures of the world famous Times Square. This is where you go to see the massive advertisements that adorn and light up the buildings on all sides in the Big Apple.Beside Duffy Square are kiosks and seating area as well. Just behind the platform is the TKTS office where you can buy discounted Broadway show tickets. There are also a couple of monuments worth viewing at Duffy Square in that of the Father Duffy and the George M. Cohan statues. In the end, nearly all visitors will end up here and at Times Square at some point during trips to NYC. It is a must-see stop on pretty much everyones itinerary.
Its very nice
I love this place

Didnt get robbed
This place is in NYC is fun and beautiful with the night lights and many people. Here you can bring your whole family for fun or enjoy a stroll alone. Theres many beautiful things to see and enjoy.
Good tourist spot with lots of people and cops. Unfortunately would be nicer if you didnt have all these performs, if you want to call them that, in your face trying to pose in costumes skiing for money. Oh and the nude girls with there privates painted, not exactly sure you want to bring your kids here.
Always time square!!
NYE was as amazing. Everyone should experience it at least once.
Loved it was very nice to sit
Amazing times square environment.
What can I say its Times Square
Great place to chill after a long walk in Times Square... the view here is also beautiful.
During this pandemic its very haggard and dank!
The view is awesome!
Very nice
Great place to discover in the middle of Manhattan

The west end of the lane was at the modern Duffy Square, and the east end at approximately the modern Third Avenue and 42nd Street. Lowes Lane and Eastern Post Road were suppressed late in the 19th century, but Bloomingdale Road survives under the name of Broadway.Duffy Square was briefly dominated by a fifty-foot, eight-ton plaster statue entitled Purity (Defeat of Slander) by Leo Lentelli in 1909.[2] Now the square has two statues: a bronze statue of Chaplain Francis P. Duffy of New Yorks Fighting 69th Infantry Regiment, after whom the square is named, sculpted by Charles Keck, and another statue depicting composer, playwright, producer and actor George M. Cohan, by sculptor Georg J. Lober.[3] The statue was dedicated by Mayor Fiorello LaGuardia on May 2, 1937, who also signed the law authorizing the renaming of the square to Father Duffy Square on March 29, 1939; on June 13 of that year, the street signs were changed.[4] The statue of Duffy and the square itself were listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2001.[1]
Very crowded spot and great for proposing to your girlfriend!
