So Ill agree with other reviewers...dem drink prices! But in all fairness, the prices are similar to other places, so it aint THAT horrible.Love the small, intimate feel to the theater. I always prefer smaller venues because some of the bigger places lose the charm and intimacy you can only get in either off Broadway or a place like the NJ PAC theater. Staff was pleasant. The show itself we saw was very, very good. The headliner has got some pipes on her! She can flat out sing and there wasnt a dull moment during her set.Id be down to checking out more acts there.

Went for Broadways Next Hit Musical (great improv show, esp if you love showtunes). Small stage but very quaint and cozy theater. Seating is tight, or at least it was packed in there - two chairs to a one person table, chairs standing alone between small tables - for that show. Still an adorable theater with great drink options.

Mind you, we were WITH the one of the performers (manager) and still had an awful experience. The theater was pretty and the performers were great, however, the drinks are EXTREMELY over-priced ($14 - $17 for pixie cup size) and theres a two drink minimum, cash only. So on top of paying $20 for a ticket, we spent another $40 per person for awful and extra ice drinks. Definitely not worth it! Will never go back to this theater.

This theater is really beautiful. Its a lovely intimate space for a performance. Jo
Review №68

Just be forewarned: this venue is more of a supper club or bar with a stage, on the model of the Highline Ballroom, than it is an off-Broadway theater. My party and I were not aware of this, which meant that when we arrived too close to the beginning of the show (we got there 5 minutes before the start time, which was later than we planned, but most off-Broadway theaters dont open the house more than 10 minutes before start time), we had no chance of being seated with each other. We were also surprised, and not pleasantly, to learn about the two-drink-plus tip minimum, which was indicated nowhere in the process of buying tickets to the show we were seeing. (Looking at the Triads website later, there is one mention of the policy under the FAQs for one show that runs there.) Putting the tight space and drink requirement together meant that I ended up on a tab with a total stranger (I can see how the waiter made that mistake, but it was still less than convenient). It seems that the venue hosts some burlesque shows, which seems like a better fit for this type of set-up; while it is small I cant see the Triad being a good space for serious theater (which I dont mean as a dig at burlesque--the Slipper Room hosts some great shows), and I dont see us going to more shows there.

I attended an event that was general admission and arrived early for good seating. However, there were two people guiding guests to seats, and even though my guest and I were within the first ten or so people through the door, we were directed to two seats in the furthest back corner of the room, and with an attitude that made it clear that a dispute would be futile. This followed an extra half hour of standing in a crowded vestibule because the show started late. The server took over an hour to deliver food we ordered, and brought an incorrect drink that took another ten minutes to resolve because we couldnt get their attention from our back corner in the dark venue. The performance itself was very good, which is the only reason Im giving 2 stars and not just 1. I was there because I knew one of the performers. Im in no hurry to return there for any other event.

I had read past reviews about the theater jacking up the amount on the bill by circling in black a dueamount which is more than the total due on the bill. When we went this week to see a show, we ordered two drinks each and were supposed to pay for our drinks plus a mandatory 18% tip. Our bill should have been $ 41 for the drinks plus 18% tip for a total of $ 48.38. We would have of course willingly paid $50 in any case, but we were very annoyed that, just as the previous reviews had stated, our waitress had jacked up the bill to $ 49.45. I did not want to make a scene over a mere additional $1.07 and did leave $50 anyway, but I did not appreciate being taken!..... next time I go to the Triad Im bringing exact change and the waiter will get only what we order: the amount for the drinks plus the minimum 18% (in this case $ 48,38 on the nose

My girlfriend and I saw Youve Got Hate Mail here. When we bought our tickets, we had no idea the venue was a restaurant that had a 2 drink minimum. We discovered this upon arriving but decided to stay for the show since the tickets had been quite cheap and we were able to find good seats. Im glad we stayed because the performance was outstanding but we were a trifle disenchanted with the lack of forewarning about the 2 drink minimum, although that is not the Triads fault per se.
