Very small venue. Saw The office, actors are good and it’s a succession of small scenes of the complete tv show. If you haven’t seen it, it’s going to be difficult to understand and appreciate. It’s good if you can get it at a cheap price around 40-50$. Try to be seated in the middle, the venue is very small.
Small theater which was fine, but very hard to see because of low slope of seats. I had multiple tall people in front of me and could not see large parts of the stage. Rating is based on seating. Not the show. Show was good
Cute little theatre. Saw The Office musical here and had a great time. There are only about 5 rows of seats on all three sides of the stage, so there really isnt a bad seat in the house.
A bunch of performance spaces in one building. Mostly Off-Off, with Actors Equity performers working on showcase contracts. An affordable way to see professional performances in small spaces.Comfortable seats and lobbies. Parking can be expensive because of location. But, if you use an app like Park Whiz, you can sometimes find parking discounts when you prepay.
Historical, intimate and decorated theatre venue. I saw the Perfect Crime and was absolutely blown away. I had an amazing time and I really appreciated the opportunity to move up in seating to get an even closer experience with these beautiful and talented actors. The bar accepted cash and credit which is always convenient. Facilities were clean and cozy! Only issue was that in between sets, we heard alot of the action and audience taking place in the other theatre downstairs which was slightly distracting. But overall, an amazing experience and I will certainly be returning for more! Best date night ever!!!!!!! Xoxo
A bit tight for the sitting. Could have at least spread the crowd out to be more comfortable and much much smaller than I was lead to believe. When they call it cozy in nyc- believe them!
Difficult to hear and can’t see. Nothing to extend the sound and very little rise to the seating means anyone beyond 1/2 way back is out of luck. The acting was good and the story interesting, but (see above).
It was a dated theater. That was ok because the show, the staff, the clean bathrooms and intimacy were fabulous. Oh course I was excited that the theater was named after my all time favorite Law and Order actor (also a great Broadway man), Jerry Orbach. We saw The Office: a musical parody and it was superb. The cast were talented and Michael Scott was outstanding.
Great little intimate theater. I would absolutely come back to see another show.
Very very old facilities. Torn seats too close together, dated interior, 1 elevator (take the elevator) not many seats, if you see a show, you dont need to pay for expensive seats, all the rows are pretty close to the tiny stage. Small cast but show did not disappoint
Its an older theater but with charm. Ignore the bad reviews of the theater- its not a broadway theater! Saw the office. The cast was great. If you know the show youll like it. If youve never watched the show youll probably be lost.
Not at all what I was expecting. Place was run-down and the play was mediocre, at best. Bathrooms were semi-clean but doors did not lock. Do not waste your money even if they are discounted tickets. Discounted was more than they should have been.
Super small theatre, but easy to get to, clean, and the bar was a great addition to the show.
Great theater experience. Would definitely go back
Love Actually was well performed and the melodious voices of actors remarkable!
Went to see THE OFFICE MUSICAL. OMG sooo good the actors are the best! Worth every penny.
Great theater space! I just saw the Office Parody and it was incredible. They sell refreshments (beer, wine, snacks) but make sure you have cash.
Saw a small play here and it was awesome. Warm friendly atmosphere
Smaller venue but made you feel more involved. Show was funny and actors were versatile playing difft characters. If you like the show, go see the play
Very small theatre and you are right on top of the actors. Very Off Broadway feel
Wonderful show about Edgar Degas and Mary Cassatt. Gotta see it before. Nov. 10th.
Venue needs better notice for entrance. Address is on Broadway but the box ifgice is on West 50 Street.
Small theater, nothing fancy but nice.
Its a setback from the big fancy world in times square. Its a small average theater yo would expect in a community theater. The interior felt like an apartmentBut then again it is off Broadway and it wasnt terrible, just surprising and a bit of a setback in the hubub of times square.I saw the office parody and enjoyed it and also saw perfect crime, its a mystery and a deep one at that, I personally couldnt appreciate it, but if mystery is your thing, I would highly recommend it!
Small theatre, badly sign posted. Missed it a few times. Awkward access, especially if you cant walk up narrow stairs. The play, The Perfect Murder was quite good, and really felt close to the drama, but the story wasnt great.
Watched The Office Musical Parody and it was amazing! The cast put on a great performance, even including some of the audience members in the show. Would highly recommend it!
Keep your feet off the floor if you are going here!!! Don’t put anything down on the floor!!!! Went to see a showing of The Office. Just after intermission in the darkened theater from the corner of my eye I saw something moving on the floor. I took a closer look and there were multiple huge bugs crawling on the floor. Needless to say we ran out of the theater!!!
Really nice place to see a show. We came here to see The Office Musical Parady and it was great. Nice seating, easy to get to and accessible parking all around.
Really enjoyed seeing The Office musical on a recent vacation to NYC. A small but very nice theater. Staff were all very welcoming & pleasant.
A nice little theater with comfortable seats to see a show
Great small black box theatre
Excellent venue. Any seat gives a good view of the stage and performance.
We saw the Office and I liked it! Its definitely a show thats only for big fans of the office. If you dont love the office, dont see the off broadway version
Saw the office and it was great . The actors were fantastic. Great all around job
The Office a Musical Parody - must see!
Cozy place. Liked the play.
Saw The Office Parody here. Perfect venue for that. Kind of hard to find theater if you dont know what youre looking for.
Great venue and performance (the office parody). The seats were comfortable, and due to the small size of the theater it seems like there is no bad seat in the house.
Very nice, all seats provide good viewing and the show was great!
Nice small theater super fun.
Cozy atmosphere. I sat in the front row, which was right on the stage - definitely put you in the middle of the experience.
Lovely space, nice people, GREAT location. I did a reading of a new musical here and was very happy with the process.
Took forever to find the entrance. Its a bway address, but the entrance is on a side street.
The seats were soooooo uncomfortable and close together. So disappointing.
Nice and funk story,I laughed to much
This was the 2nd time that I went The Theater Center since 2015 that I went to see Mumbo Jumbo. Today I went to see The Lion King for the AHRC disable students. The only drawback at the theater is the auditorium is very small not enough seats for everybody to sit. They had to stand up to watch the show and it’s crazy. The subway station is right there next to the theater for the 1 train at West 50th Street and super convenient. I hope that I go back to the Jerry Orbach Theatre again for the 3rd time to attend any Broadway show that is available.
Feels like a smaller stage compared to other places.Yet the experience was good
Great venue to watch a performance. Theres not a bad seat in the house.
Good entertainment for a good price
Saw the Office parody here, amazing! Staff at theater was friendly. Drinks & snacks before/intermission.
Saw The Golden Girls Live. Cant recommend it enough!! Theatre was easy to find and has a small bar to enjoy while waiting for your show to start.
Nice theater, comfortable and staff is helpful
The theater space itself is excellent. Good acoustics. The lobby of the building and elevator detract from an otherwise perfect score.
Small, intimate.
The Office show was funny. Energetic cast!
Just an amazing, relaxing atmosphere. Great play performances.
Amazing performance.
Authentic Manhattan small theater experience, good for tourists.
Small but intimate!
Great play love this place.
Good programs. A bit crowded seating.
I loved the old theater. It could be spruced up a bit.
Seats were extremely close together and not designed for anyone over 200/225 lbs. Also - difficult to see over tall people in front of you. Play was good.
Good sounds, acceptable seating, great price
Fine venue for a smaller musical, like The Fantasticks. Seating was good. Access to theater either via a very long staircase, or an elevator.
Very nice and intimate little space for small theatre productions, tucked away on the second and third floors above the Duane Reade. Enter on Broadway. We saw The Fantastiks at the Jerry Orbach theatre, which is bigger than I remember the Sullivan st. Theatre. Ive seen it maybe 6 times and its always a nice experience. No exception here. It was not a grade A performance, and the audience was small, but the cast put their hearts into it. It was funnier than I remember, but you wont roll out of your seat like noises off. The music is good but you wont run out and buy the album (back in the day they did). The acting is good but it wont bring a tear to your eyes. All and all it is simply to be enjoyed. The prices were quite reasonable, you can stay a few minutes after and meet the cast.
It is actually well organized theater.
Intimate theater setting. Perfect crime
Overpriced, overcrowded and first time ever that a crab cake made me sick
You actually have to use the stairs to get to the theater. 3 floors of stairs climbing is bot convenient. The theater itself is average.
An older, more vintage theater. The staff is a bit rude. We enjoyed the show!
Not Horrible, Not Great!
Perfect crime is good. If your in to crime its fun. But needs a little spunk or updated. Overall is was good was expecting a musical. It been around for a while.
I was very upset how the staff treated Lonnie Bee on Saturday, April 7, 2018. The bartender refuse to serve his staff a drink, would not allow them to do a proper sound check or to enter the theatre early. I am quite sure this was not proper edquite or customer service policey. I will no return to this theatre ever again. I think that customer service should be reviewd and an apolige should be given.
Gotta love Broadway! We love coming here as often as we can.
Really small intimate theater. Comfy seats and decent acoustics.
I am so excited to have my debut on Broadway at this venue! The staff are so accommodating and professional.
Bit on the aged side, but sweet staff and good (and affordable) drinks. Comfortable and spacious seating unlike some newer theaters.
Great show
The Snapple Theater Center is an easy to reach location. Depending on the entrance point selected youll either huff & puff up four flights of stairs or take a cardio-free elevator ride. The staff is friendly, the bathrooms are neat but tiny. You can select a beverage from the super-sized Snapple vending machine or from the bar & whatever you choose can be taken to your seat.I saw The Perfect Crime here & while my attention was on the actors, I could faintly hear the production below (The Fantastics) or the elevator shuffling people up and down or people chit-chatting away in the lobby. At the Snapple Theater Center, its best to have a seat in one of the first three rows. There doesnt seem to be a steep enough incline between the rows, people seated in the middle or towards the back will be playing the Crane Your Neck game.
The Fantastiks is great. My kids loved it. So funny.
Fantastiks was so so. not worth for money.I like the song Try to remember, so I went to the theater for Fantastiks.I paid $39 for discounted tickets. Actually ~$50 with tax and fees.7 people tried very hard to make the musical fun, but I think it is time to end the show.Though it is the most long-run off-broadway show, things have changed too much. I think the show does not provide enough fun entertainment any more.
Quiet space to enjoy a show by diving in entertaining play of actors.
Great show, intimate venue
Small theater center. Sort of narrowish stairs. Yet you get to watch something on Broadway (Off-Broadway)
Hot Mess was quick comedy! Nice Staff & affordable drinks!
Stairs are crazy and elevator location is not well specified
Great time
Cozy but nice. The sound from the fantasticks works well in any seat
Loved The Fantastics! Very energetic and funny cast.
