What a treat! My expectations were pretty low because its in Times Square. However the reality was so much better than I hoped for. Staff was amazing! Great venue without a bad seat or bad sightlines.
Great comedy, great times! Staff was friendly and comedians would hang out after the show. Great experience! Only complaint is they make you buy a drink or something to eat.
Great entertainment yet truths are spoken. Fun experience with a reality check. Highly recommended!
If you havent been to this show...youre missing out. Very funny show...I was still grinning the next morning. Very, very creative. Definitely coming back!
If youre her for a show, I recommend to dine prior to the show. As much as you would like to arrive early for good seating, you would hate it more to find out how much you paid for the dinner.I love trying new restaurants and am dont hesitate to go all out on the full dining experience.Ordered:Calamari - If youre expecting Carmines calamari, well, this aint itShrimp Cocktail - defrosted and powderyBaby Back Ribs & Fries - too drySteak - I thought my jaw didnt belong to me after dinnerSpent over $100 for dinner. It definitely wasnt worth it. It really let me understand why many others were just lounging with drinks. Honestly, the only thing I didnt mind was the fries. Even the fries werent fresh/crispy.Suggestions:1. Shorten the food wait time2. Stop checking in peoples items and collect money3. Serve real food that YOU want to eatIn the times where customers move instantly for better quality and better service, Carolines really gotta step it up.
Great show, had large table and everyone enjoyed it. Place is clean and sound in room is great. Only thing holding it back from 5 stars is the old fashion 2 drink minimum, a dated practice that makes things awkward at best, just charge a bit more and let us drink what we want.
The show was at 7pm, but if you make a reservation for 5:30pm dinner, they will serve you just outside of the comedy club room and save you a table for the show. You can leisurely finish your dinner even after they begin seating, because they have already saved a table for you in the club room. The food menu offered a good variety at reasonable rates. There is a 2 drink minimum in the club room, but dinner drinks do not count. They tell you that, so no surprises. The host and 3 other comics presented until around 8:30pm. Great time!
Saw an open mic type night and it was great. Had a headliner pop up for a test routine of their new show. Place was clean, wait staff fast and attentive... youll have a good time!
We were very happy with our experience. My daughter’s plane was very late and we weren’t sure we could make our 7:30 Michael Rapaport show. I called and explained the situation. They were so accommodating and changed our reservation to the 10:30 show. We made it in time. The drinks were good, the nachos flavorful. Michael was great, the other two opening acts were just okay. We got to meet Michael and take pictures before the show. He was great! We loved the old building and the atmosphere. We would definitely attend another show here. Thanks so much to Linnea and the phone reservation female (can’t remember her name) for all your help! We enjoyed everything!!
Such an awesome place. We came here to see Kevin Smith and we had a blast. We opted to have dinner before the show and it was great. The food and drinks were delicious. The waiters were friendly and efficient. The staff taking our tickets & helping us to our seats, were wonderful. We will definitely be back!
Brought a group of about 40 clients and team members here for a night of fun. We saw Justin Willman and had a great freaking time! He put on an excellent show and everyone couldn’t have laughed more.As a group, we did the open bar package and thankfully we did. Drinks were strong and kept flowing be sure to eat more than some us did beforehand I’ll definitely be back with a large group or even a small one.
An amazing way to spend the night in the heart of New York City. I experienced the hilarity of comedy expert Jim Norton. Loved the whole atmosphere. My drinks were flawlessly created and delivered in a timely manner! The menu looked scrumptious; almost ate the menu itself! If youre in the area, stop in and laugh and dine the night away.
This place handles crowds very well, even though there is a sea of people entering and exiting at the same timethe stage is visible from every seatstaff is accommodating and polite... one walked me to the rest room when I had to leave during a showfood menu is available online, drink menu isntits a two drink minimum, not two menu itemsnote: you have to walk down steps to get in
Nice place in Times Square. The opening act was not too great, and the headliner was outstanding. Its downstairs and the decor is a little dated. Still a very good time.
I really like this place, kind of a throw back to the 80ts. They have food, you can make a reservations or just get there early enough and you can order. I didnt eat but from what I saw was ok. Theres a 2 drink minimum. The bathrooms can use a more frequent freshening, my wife said same thing. The staff was cool and the crowd friendly. We saw Dolph Ziggler hes very funny he is also WWE wrestler, so some other wrestlers showed up to. It was a fun night. Definitely going back.
We had an absolutely amazing time seeing Mo Amer.Read other reviews so you know what youre getting into. Their setting process isnt great, the host staff is pretty friendly though. The two drink minimum is just how it goes so about another $10 on top of your ticket.Didnt try the food, it looked pretty decent but from what I saw on other tables but nothing special. Prices are typical NYC Broadway mark up.Get there a little early, talk some people and become part of a group of six to get seated a little sooner if youre part of a smaller group of 2 or 3.It can get a little hectic on the beginning but if youre going to see a good comic youll have a blast once the show gets willing
Good Experience. Arrived in time to beat the line and have a cocktail before being seated. Had good seats for the show, our headliner was his usual fantastic self and his openers were excellent.
Drinks are good. Small intimate environment. Great for a date night an laughs.
Great place to see a comedy act, but it does get crowded. I recommend doing dinner reservation with your tickets to secure good seats and not have to deal with the chaos as much.
Nice location. Some of the standup comics were good, others were barely okay.Might be back, probably not. Unless there’s a super amazing comic that night.
I love watching comedy shows here. Right in the middle of the city. 2 drink minimum required and it doesnt have to be alcohol. Ive done dinner before the show and the food is good. Presentation is nice my salad was fancy looking. Most comedians stay after the show lounging around so you can take a pic on your way out depending on the comedian.
Been here 3 of 4 times love this place, servers are great, drinks are good and never tried their food, but heard its decent.
The food was great and the show was hilarious! The dinner and a show package was the way to go. We got great seats reserved so we didnt get rushed to finish dinner.
Went to see Dave AttellAwesome experience - servers were nice and efficient, bartender knew his craft, show was hilarious. All in all a great time
Great shows. Ive been here several times and the comedians are really good. This was the first time I made dinner reservations so I could have reserved seating. I wont do that again. In my opinion you mind as well eat when they let you in. Showtime says 7pm but they dont come on the stage until about 7:30. So instead of just sittng there have your meal. For the most part you can see from any seat because the venue is small. The food was good. The place needs a major update in the restrooms.
Still my favorite spot for comedyIve been seeing shows since college here. Chris Rock, Michael Winslow, Jay Mohr, Dave Attell and so many amazing others! Dont just show up for the headliners - the new comedians are fantastic and will leave you in stitches as well. The drinks are delish and I have made my home bar full of their signature glasses and shot glasses, ha! The food is good but you dont need to eat there to enjoy the laughs.
Great drinks. Good food. Decent comedy.
Happened to be invited to a show while on vacation. All the acts were pretty good and the atmosphere was great. Had a great time and will definitely check it out again when Im back in NYC.
The no phones/pictures policy is dated, but their venue so their choice. Drinks are good, if pricey as typical for the area/venue.
I went for a event hosted by Dj Envy and his wife. Pretty interesting mix of talent. Well staffed venue. Give yourself time to travel.
It was a nice place. The bathroom could had been more cleaner but everything else was good. I would go back. Take the subway as parking sucks.
Great show. Not as many people in the crowd which may have made a difference. Food was good and if you stick with beer the two drink minimum isn’t too bad. The host was really funny and I believe we saw about six comedians some who have done specials.
It is one of the most established, famous, and recognized stand-up comedy clubs in the United States. Located in the heart Times Square, Carolines on Broadway is widely regarded as “Americaʼs Premier Comedy Nightclub,” presenting the best live comedy entertainment seven nights a week, 365 days a year. Carolines on Broadway provides the same quality entertainment one has come to expect of New Yorkʼs legendary Great White Way.
Fun venue. The comedy was pretty good. The service was super slow, but possibly due to a packed house on a Saturday night. The staff was very friendly. Great place to go when you are visiting NYC in Times Square.
We were there for the John Crist show, awesome show. Carolines is nice place gets extremely crowded. Drinks are good. Overall experience good
The show was amazing, the food and drink were okay.
Comedians got better as the night went on. Its much different from other comedy clubs in NYC so it was nice to see something new.
Food is great love the drinks. Great atmosphere
Had a really good time. Tasty food, great drinks. Try the Kevin Hart!!!
I have been to Caroline a few time and it has always been great The staff is always nice and helpful
Im an upcoming comedian & the service here is just great
It was a great venue. Excellent show! However wait times on staff were long during dinner. Card got handed to the wrong person.
Good comedy club, usually has a good list of comedians each night but being that its times square also means that its going to be more expensive then other comedy clubs and harder to find parking. If you can take public transportation and save yourself the hassle. Comedian we saw was funny, the apps were ok and the drinks were not bad.
Loved this place had many great times here.
Rude staff, especially some Peter guy,, really bad service,, they could have billed us double the food and drinks but theyre super slow.. well their loss... comedians were great but hope they find a better place than this!!!
First time going here, but had a great experience in all. Top notch comics and good service.
I wish I could rate my experience half a star or no stars at all. The entire night had been a disaster of misinformation and trying to suck every dime out of us. We paid for gold tickets to sit close for the show and told to eat dinner early to reserve seats in the hall. Not only did the girl at the counter have trouble finding my name and getting my tickets, she couldve even find out reservation and we had us sit at the bar for 20+ minutes while she figured it out. After sitting at the bar and paid for drinks, we finally got a table. The wait staff could care less about serving us and we had to constantly try to get them to the table for drinks and food. The only time we were directly talked to was the staff ushering and forcing to check our coats telling us we need to in order to get in smoothly. When we got our food, both our orders were incorrect including toppings we order but we were assured that we would get a seat inside reserved. After dinner, we tried to get the check and couldnt get it for 20 minutes and the waiter disappeared with our credit card. While we attempted to get the check back, they were seating for the rows and stated they arent sure if we would have a reserved seating for eating dinner anymore which made us wait in line anyway in the back. After we got inside with no secured seating, we saw that people kept their jackets and bags inside. It felt like we were punished for following orders while they could care less about having us. Dont recommend to anyone.
Love this place!! Try the Tracy Morgan drink. Bet you cant finish two of them...lol
Organized, clean, and good shows. Bathrooms are clean. Not really much going on here to write home about. Ive only gone for specific shows by comedians of whom I am already a fan, but I would do a walk-in show off the fly, too.
Great place to see a show.
The comedy show was a good one. There is a two drink minimum for each person as well as a $17 admission fee. Spent about $100 dollars here which I think was a bit much for the comedy quality but hey. Was still a good time
Went with my wife to the Steve-o show at 7.30 on a Friday, the same day the subway came to a standstill in 90 degree heat (MTA - 1 star). Even though we were late we had good, fast service and decent seats. Would totally go back for a show again.
Love Carolines always a good laugh.
Reliable Japanese restaurant. Great sushi/sashimi and always friendly
Was not a fan of the service. Would not recommend it, over charge for drinks and staff was rude. You are better finding other comedy clubs in other parts of the city.
New comics trying out material so a lil dry at parts and definitely a tourist spot. Could probably do better at local joints
Sunday night 6 acts absolutely fantastic night out really good stand up. A must if in NYC.
Awesome.Brad Williams was hilarious.I got pretty wasted and left my bag at check in, but they held it for me and even stayed open late the next day so I could pick it up after work.
We came here early May. Great comedians! 2 drink minimum, even if your pregnant, so I paid $10 for bottled water. The comedians had decently timed sets. The seating is ok. Booths and tables.. kind of assigned as you come in. VIP isnt worth it. Id return. Definitely worth it. Free or cheaper comedy cant compete
The dinner area was cold but the stage where the comedians was warm. Food was ok. Staff was definitely not paying attention to the customer. I had 2 wait 45 minutes to get 1st order and than another 1hr nd half. Terrible customer service
I liked the drinks, atmosphere and comedy show over there
First name in comedy - last name in bag checking.Evident when the bag checking woman who showed up 15 minutes let- kept interrupting people in the middle of their conversations as they walked in- the. While I’m sitting at the table with wife and friends began to scream over us- when I told her we were talking she then decides it’s ok to call me nasty for calling her out in a louder tone and expect me to believe she’s running the place. Other than that- the room is beautiful and the acts were great. Shame such a place has to lose business over their support staff.
Like the events, steps are too steep no access for disabilities. Food over priced. Excellent customer service.
Love the atmosphere comedians are really good and food had a great selection. Drinks are pricey and not that strong. Also I sometimes feel uncomfortable with the jokes from some of the African American comedians, Im Jamaican and I even think they go overboard with the reverse racism. Still all in all the shows are usually great when the headliner comes on. We just need to adapt the Good old Jamaican saying out of many one people
Went to the show called “Funniest show on Broadway” and while the venue, lineup and service were good, we did experience a little hiccup with the staff that was serving our drinks. This place automatically includes 15% gratuity into your bill, and they even wrote quite clearly no gratuity needed. So when we paid for ours, and had quite a bit of change left which never came, I approached the staff just to check. To which he rudely replied “I asked you earlier and you said you don’t want the change”. I had overheard him asking the table NEXT to us this question but not to our table, so he had clearly mistaken us for them. So when I replied it was the next table that had said that, he gave a dirty look and hurried off to get the change. Would have happily given that change as extra tip if only he hadn’t been so rude about it.
Let me start out by saying that I went to Carolines for Bill Bellamy and Jess Hilarious shows. Both shows that I went to were fantastic. The venue pretty much is spot on with the talent that it is able to acquire and it also seemingly starts on time or close to time. However, when it comes to catering during the show, this needs to be more organized. The money takes too long to be collected and I recall that one of the guys tried to rush customers out even though none of us had our credit cards yet. My advice would be to pay with cash or eat before the show. Plus, ask for a take home tray at least a half of an hr before the show ends.
I was there for a private event & love it. Its cosy and has great service for appetizers & drinks.
We saw Drew Lynch and a couple of other stand up comedians, all excellent! The show itself was awesome and we thoroughly enjoyed it.The layout of the venue is good, no issues with A/V at all and I was comfortable at our table. Im not really sure what the MO is for comedy clubs like this but we had 3 other randoms at our immediate table and it was less than pleasant (not really the fault of the venue I suppose).Knocking off a star because we paid extra for dinner reservation and there was a miscommunication about which line to stand in. The dinner and drink service was a little subpar, the food took almost an hour to get to our table and they seemed understaffed. Food and drinks themselves were B+.Overall, enjoyed it and recommend it.
Enjoyed seeing Sinbad a great show.
Intimate setting, excellent comedy. Fun night.
Saw Donell Rawlings it was excellent although figuring out where the V.I.P line was very confusing we figured it out pretty quickly we just had to push ourselves to the front of the line
I was there last night and the only turn off about this place was the Manager Peter!! Me and my family had come in late to the show last night, and the other part of our family where already waiting for us inside. They had already checked in and were trying to save us seats. We bought a total of 17 tickets and 10 were inside already. Other people sat next to our family and the manager thought that they were the other part of the party, the (7) that we’re missing. He thought we didn’t buy tickets and we were trying to get in for a free show etc. He was yelling and screaming at us, told us to go home multiple times, he definitely needs to get his attitude checked cause for a business man your throwing away potential clients. After a good :30 minutes of waiting and trying to explain to his hard headed non compliant self, he finally understood and let us in. Worst experience ever! Hire a new Manager, maybe the red headed hostess in the front she was much nicer and tried to help.
Good Comedy, some big stars. Drinks are okay. Place gets pack, good to get there in advance for seating, first come first serve unless you do VIP.
Great comedy. French fries could be better.
Ive been to 4 shows and none have disappointed. Good service, delicious drinks, AMAZING comedy.
Great show. A very nice venue.
My husband and I went to see the Carlos Comic show that was the best ... But the service of this place is not very good, the waiters do not have the delicacy to put even a napkin with your drink and it is obligatory to buy two drinks apart from the tickets for the show, it would be good to take into consideration the consumption of food, there are people who do not drink.
Awesome place to enjoy some up and coming comedians. Sugar Sammy was there the night we went and boy did we laugh our butts off. 5/5 for Sugar Sammy, 4/5 for the venue only due to slower service for drinks/food.
Beautiful, underground comedy club nestled between Times Square and the Theater District. Reasonable drink prices, suprisingly good, well-presented food, and good laughs.
Servers Could be a bit more organized
Seating was a little too tight but the venue was nice and the show was great.
The worst experience I have ever had.The staff were very unfriendly and insult me, and told me that I’m cousin a problem because I bought a close to the stage seat and received las row one.The waiter was very friendly and tried to help me
We went to Carolines to see Anthony Rodia.Rodia Comedy..He was great..If you wanna laugh go see his show..He is good at what he does.He is made to be a comedian..absolute talent..the food in Carolines was awesome..great prices relaxing atmosphere great servers.my fiances bday giftAll he wanted was to see anthony rodia.so with it
