Great beach access. Clean facilities. Lots of picnic tables. Will be back.
So, my family are local Central Floridians and we decided to go here on Saturday during the Memorial Day weekend(5/23/20), and when got here there was a sign at the main entrance that read, PARKING FULL!! But, my family and I were lucky enough to shark the parking lot and we finally got us a prime parking space!! The beach here is LOADED with seashells(please insert picture of plastic bag of seashells) however these are best to find when the Tide is changing from High tide to Low tide!! Also, if you are a surf fisherman this place is extremely popular to catch fish such as whiteing, catfish and pompanos (use dead shrimp or sea fleas as bait)!! The bathroom/changing facilities here are extremely clean as were the outside showers for rinsing off!! I highly recommend this beach, it is a lot less crowded during the Summer holidays and you and your family will love it!!
My favorite go to the beach place without dealing with the sand and actually going to the beach. I love going to the beach but I need an umbrella or canopy or tent and blankets, towels and chairs. Sometimes its such a hassle to bring all of that. I just like to park (free, btw) and sit on the bench and stare at the ocean.
Awesome Beach, Awesome Day/Night watching The SpaceX Rocket Launch and the 4 Astronauts into space to the Space Station. Yay What a great surprise for our son, and a great family place to enjoy it!
Ive always enjoyed this place. Not to bizzy or crowded. A nice place in the sun and water.
Great place to go and see the ocean and a very clean beach.
They have done a magnificent job of upgrading the walk way and the clean facilities. It is well maintained and welcoming. They have benches for you to sit and enjoy the ocean. One of the few places left to just relax. They could add more entrances to the sand from the walkway.
The beach is great for families. The sand here is mostly shells so if your looking to build sandcatles its not the right beach for you. Its also a little steep toward the ocean so the waves start almost immediately as soon as you get in the water. Convenient showers nearby and its a low key atmosphere. Its not my favorite FL beach but its much closer to Orlando than other beaches.
Beautiful. Simply beautiful. Free! Didnt use the restroom or shower so I dont know about that. I love that there was plenty of parking and there are benches right off of the parking lot facing the water. Technically, one doesnt have to go down to the actual beach if one doesnt see fit and still enjoy the beach without getting all icky. That what we did. Loved it. Saved as one of my favorites.
One side beach other side of road is inlet and docks for fishing. Perfect spot.
Clean restrooms, outdoor showers, covered picnic tables. Improved beach with more sand. (Though still narrow.) No handicap access to beach on this day.
Went to watch the Space X launch, which was canceled. Very windy, a bit chilly, but beautiful waves crashing in.
Really great access to the beach, away from lots of people. No vehicles on sand. Has pavillions, bathroom & shower facilities.
Great park! Very nice beach area and public facilities. Bathrooms and showers, picnic area, sport courts, and great fishing right across the street. Dolphins and manatees frequent the protected inlet (across the street from the beach area)
(May 2019) Oh my goodness! This was so fun! You could see probably two dozen manatees from the little boardwalk and from the shore of the west side of the park (along the waterway, across the road from the actual beach). We discovered this little park actually by kayaking over to the manatees from JP’s Fish Camp. We werent expecting to see manatees, as May seemed to be too late for their breeding season, but they were so active! Kayaking with them was a ton of fun, but even just standing on the boardwalk gave a great view of them.
Its a nice, public access to beach free. Showers and bbq grills bring coal. Me and my family live a short distance. Any ? Just ask
Best part of NSB weve been too. Easy beach access. The bathrooms were quite clean. The showers to clean off were very nice. Loved our beach day.
Beautiful beach. Well maintained. Showers bathrooms and lifeguard station.
Had a great time we rented a pavilion for a birthday party. The only thing that we had a difficult time with was parking. I feel as if renting the pavilion we should have had 2-4 spots reserved for our guest.
Is amazing place, I love it. I Drive from Kissimmee just to get away from the people.
Its a nice little beach area to share with children. Just wish it would stay a hidden gem and not overrun with jet skis.
Nice. Parking, benchs, guardlife, white sand.dog park. Kids park.
Love the Bay which always has dolphins or manatees swimming about. Some people fish off the boardwalk.Across the street is the ocean. Pic nick tables and a boardwalk along the beach.
Beautiful beach to visit. I plan on revisiting on my next trip to Florida
Great facilities and great beach! There are a couple of plaques to help everyone appreciate the historical significance of the site.
Great beach out of the way of crowds. Highly recommend!
One of my faborite places to beach at... The life guard station is right there and locals are generally more friendly and less roudy than the tourists. Great gazibo and cook out area. Parking is limited but you are always lucky to find a spot what ever time of day, even if parking is full sign is out...
This beach is awesome. Its secluded enough that its not too busy but close enough to shops and restaurants that its convenient. There is a nice bathroom area, showers to get the sand off, and pavilions for eating. There has been a lifeguard on duty every time I have been, which is cool. Across the street from here is a harbor that always had mantises and dolphins. There is also a very nice playground at the harbor too.
Perfect spot not real crowded but I got there at 10. Then it was filled at 12 1 for parking. So get in early.
Beautiful beach. Stashed in a neighborhood, but still very nice. Public bathroom, picnic shelters, and showers on site. Not too many people while we were here in August. Waves big enough to play in, but not be too worm out by. Would definitely visit again. Bring water and stuff, the nearest store is a bit down the road unless you count the bait shop.
Great beach day and this park has nice amenities. Parking is very limited. Beach is very shelly not great for soft sand.
Very nice open beach tucked away in a quiet neighborhood. Free parking next to several pavilions with picnic tables, across the parking lot from the restrooms and open air showers. Wear your sun screen! Also visit the Bethune Park across the main road in the morning so maybe you can catch a glimpse of manatees and dolphins in the little cove. You can walk around some mangroves on a board walk to see the bay with posts where osprey make their nests and see crabs, fish and clams amongst the mangroves roots. The park has a little playgrounds and restrooms. Parking is free at both the beach and park.
Nice public beach access.
Great place for fishing, but not when the weather is rough. Although I did not catch anything this day, but I will be coming back to try again
If you just want to go to the beach and enjoy the day, very good place to hang.
Nice place with everithing family need
They have facilities. Nice beach as long as you go a ways away from the boardwalk ramp.
Nice spot for relaxing. Clean restrooms, beautiful scenery. Benches and picnic area too.
Great place for family fun on the beach, has a place to park. Bathrooms to change, showers to clean off, and a picnic area!
We walked on the beach by the ocean and it was clean, refreshing and peaceful. They do not allow dogs to walk on this beach. It was pretty empty when we were there. There was a woman cleaning up the beach, which was good. It is, well maintained.
Nice beach to walk and enjoy when the tides out. Clean restrooms you can change in and beach showers. Free parking and access. Mary McLeod is being honored well. Construction going on for years, not sure why so slow.
Do not take your dogs! We drove all the way out here because it did not say anywhere on Google that dogs are not allowed and yea we had to turn around and go all the way back home. No pets allowed! Thanks for stating that on the website or on Google!
My favorite beach spot in NSB
Clean. Picked up some peoples trash tho. I dont see them separate the recycling from the trash which is irritating. Especially being by the sea. Great spot. Parking nearby. Bathrooms nearby. Shops nearby. Vegan food nearby. People say be careful of sharks, but Ive seen none and Ive been here a week.
Beautiful place to watch the sunrise
The sand is really nice and its very lowkey.
Discovered a new place and plan on going back soon and trying some fishing out maybe get to see some manatees as well only bad thing is the bathroom facilities were already closed.
I give this location two stars because there is a very small amount of parking spaces and none marked for handicap. The wooden walkways and wooden ramps were covered in beach sand. The ramps for wheelchairs and ECVs were closed due to storm damage. The womens restrooms were not stocked because I used a stall that had no TP. There was a small amount of soap dispensers and I had to wait to use one.
Nice beach. Not crowded. There are benches to sit on to watch the swimmers and water. Nice small, dog friendly park with picnic tables, a pavilion and restrooms. Plenty of parking.
The beach is very rocky and not narrow. It is nice to have the free parking and bathroom available.
Beautiful place, go in on a bike rather than a car to avoid a hefty $20 entry fee
Only dog park Im comfortable taking my dogs too
Very nice lifeguard was very vigelante. Beach had 2 sand bars which was awesome.
Ease of parking, beach access, and not too crowded.
Really nice park, free parking, picnic pavilion, BBQ grills, showers. Great place to get shells.
Awesome beach to go to very relaxing
It was awesome we had a great time...
We had a very enjoyable experience today at this park. The park was clean and well maintained with several picnic areas. All the picnic areas were covered and multiple grills are available to clean and ready to use. Pet station stocked with disposable bags as well. The parking was close by with multiple benches for relaxing by the ocean without actually getting on the beach. Very peaceful and relaxing afternoon. Ample restrooms fully stocked, with showers available right outside. It was a good day and parking was free.
Best local beach Ive been to
Love it. Fun in the sun. Beautiful. Park. Bathrooms.
I like beaches like this. A slope into the water not much of a beach at all. At least not the time of day I went. There is a big chain link fence due to some construction maybe. Not sure why its there. But all in all its a lovely quiet beach despite the high rise hotels.
BBQ, Volleyball or Basketball games, Salt air and paddleboarding. Great spot for peaceful play!
Great beach day or night. Love walking here. The parking lot was finished and there is a guard rail (fence) and free parking. There is also a park not far for the daytime.
Revised!I had no idea what this place looked like because Id only been here at night. Its a perfect venue to watch a night launch.Today I came during daytime and after seeing this park Ill return often. Park facing the beach for a fantastic view. You are steps from the ocean and behind you are picnic tables, grassy play areas, rest rooms and a pavilion, with a playground across the street. Perfect for children.
A favorite spot for me and my dogs to take a stroll. NO dogs on the beach but the brick walkway and the park my dogs love! Saw the Falcon launch very cool!! The ocean is very active here and the beach area is not very wide. Love the history.
Very clean and nice oceanfront park!
First time back to Florida in a while. Beach was clean and family friendly.
Nice little park. We went here to try to see manatees. Unfortunately there were none present but we did see a couple of dolphins. There is a short boardwalk, a playground, restrooms, and a small parking lot.
A very nice beach! Clean, no trash. Kid friendly. In the area that we pitch our tents there was a small dune out in the ocean that you could swim to and play one. Very wonderful experience. Will go back again.
Great beach. This time of year it wasnt crowded and I like that. Made some new friends.
This spot is fantastic for looking out at the ocean. Clean facilities and No parking fees is another nice benefit.
Once the bustling vacation spot for black people it’s now a middle class haven for older folks.Still a beautiful location and beach.
I love parks and look for ones to frequentAlways a great place to go...
Finally found a place to park this crowded holiday weekend, nice clean bathrooms!! Could not be more appreciative....
Very peaceful place early in the morning to watch sunrise!
Good experience... Very clean and the outdoor showers are a plus!
Nice free parking by the beach, clean restrooms and will maintained picnic areas.
Beautiful swimming and shore line CATCHIN
Was married on the beach there this morning. It was beautiful
Once a beautiful place to come but now theres no beach access and everything looks abandoned.. Theres no up keep of this place.. I forgotten gem... A womens mission to provide a place for everyone to come and enjoy is no longer available... I wish the city would do more for this historic place..
Best place to go for swim & chillax....
Such a beautiful beach. Very clean.
We only stopped for a bit but it was lovely not crowed with direct access to the beach and free parking and it has showers and restrooms that are kept clean and covered areas with grills .. Will be back for sure
Free parking and bathrooms with picnic area is a plus! Great place to look for shells. Sometimes there isnt much beach when the tide is high though. It is also a place where a lot of people fish so you have to find a spot away from them to swim. They still have a little construction going on.
Accessible bathrooms, free parking, picnic areas, nice beach AND historically significant!! One of my favorite beaches ever.
