One of the best open green spaces in the area. There are lots of trails including the 12 mile greater loop around the whole area

Excellent park. Great wide open space with lots of room and plenty of dogs to interact with. No bathrooms nearby though.

One of the most spacious dog parks Ive been to. Public water access for all the dogs. Lots of leftover tennis balls from other owners. Tons of open space and grass - not a dirt / concrete / asphalt dog park like most.

Largest dog park by far! Owners are good about cleaning up after their dogs. There always seems to be a good group of dogs here even at off times like the middle of a day on a Wednesday. Not too sure if they actually enforce the permit as I have been there quite a few times and never seen anyone doing so.

The spaces for the dogs were very clean and quite spacious. Plenty of water bowls with fresh water, folks were friendly. The best part, youre surrounded by nature.

Ward acres is 65 acre combination hiking trails, fenced in 5 acre dog park, and community garden. It used to be a farm and it still retains that feeling with quaint stone walls and the old barn. Dog walkers need to obtain a permit with New Rochelle city hall. Both Residents and non-residents need to pay. It is an absolute treasure for everyone that we have this open park-trail system. Nala and I go almost every day!

Good short hiking trails, but the gated dog run isnt enough for walkers, so watch out for dogs running free all over the place.

A nice place most of the time. There is also a small section for small dogs and a water fountain that is on seasonally. There is a lot of parking as well. Unfortunately you are supposed to buy a yearly permit or face a $250 fine if they catch you

First time using it in years and a giant shepherd attacks my five month old puppy, bites his snout breaking the skin. if i didnt pull the dog off with the body harness he was wearing it could have been a lot worse. when i told the owner to put her dog on a leash, she starts yelling at me that because her dog is an alpha dog and neither are neutered its not the dogs fault. the owners worse than the dog. the sign says no aggressive dogs, obviously some people ignore it. the same dog had tried to pick fights with others just before attacking my five month old puppy.

HUUUUUGGGEEE DOG PARK! Very friendly pet owners. Parking nearby. Bring a water bowl and your own water if you dont want to have to run all the way back to the fountain by the entrance. Small park inside fenced off for smaller dogs. Benches to sit. Couldnt ask for anything more.

I like to walk up the west side of Wards island, along the Waters Edge Garden, and through the woodland trail, until I reach the Little Hell Gate Salt Marsh, which is an extraordinarily natural-seeming, award-winning, piece of habitat restoration.

We expected more. This is a great place for dog walking, but as far as I can tell it is mostly green lawns (large) and stone walls. There is a structure there that has literally fallen down, the roof has fallen to the ground.
