I am from New Haven Connecticut. Every time Im downtown its usually for work. But I find myself taking the occasional stroll and always running into something unexpected, but always extraordinary. This is a wonderful place for people visiting Connecticut. Oh and we house Yale!

Its so relaxing! You can keep your safe distance while still having a great picnic! You can just sit and listen to the noises of the city. Its so beautiful.

A beautiful centerpiece of the city. Safer to walk through than some people will tell you, at least during the day. You should expect to see some pretty desperate people who have nowhere else to go. You may even have to interact with some of them. Again, its not as dangerous as people say, but honestly if I was an unaccompanied woman, I wouldnt go there after dark.

During a summer where we didnt have a global pandemic. It was beautiful with life and full of people and great places to visit and eat.

Cant wait to next summer so they can bring the new haven summer concert on the green back.plus the arts and crafts festivals.n the lighting of the Christmas tree in December.

I just needed to get to my bus but the people were nice buildings were beautiful and transportation was smooth.

Always a fun place to walk around, especially if you have a dog!

Quiet and serene! Great place to read a book or have a chat. Lots of shade on those hot summer days. Unfortunately, there werent any concerts when I went.

The New Haven has become horrible and very unsafe. I enjoyed the chapel Square mall days,. Its a sea of homeless and mentally ill people. Which makes it unsafe for everyone else Very sad.

More help in Customer service. The staff is friendly to customers for the most part. There should be more staff available for customers to refer to.

Great place to catch live music in the summer months; tree-lighting and mini arts festival around Christmas time. Family and fur-mily friendly all year round.

My family and I park away the New Haven green and then walk atound to choose from the many restaurants nearby.

Great place to kick start your day

Pleasant place to pass the time. Plenty of families, benches and chairs to sit and have a picnic. Dont be surprised to have people come up and talk to you--it *is* downtown, and a popular hang-out for a variety of people from various walks of life

Very clean but can be sketchy at night. Definetly a place to enjoy during the day.

A glorious location. Unfortunately, often filled with sketchy characters making it uncomfortable for common folk.Covid 19 has turned the entire downtown area into a ghost town, and for the green there is an eerie feeling of abandonment.We need some common sense to be infused to get the downtown businesses reopened and bustling again with signs of life, if we wait too long whi knows what will be salvageable.

Free live music shows on lunch breaks during the summer are always a easy way to mix up the day. At times it does get crazy with people that are high and drunk just making scenes but cops have been posted up more so its been getting less.

Such a nice melting pot of cultures here. If you want to see city life, this is the place to do it! The New Haven Green is a great park with a front and back green with 3 churches on the backside and events on the front green across from the City Hall. Its an awesome park but be mindful...that not everyone has good intent. There are some hustlers and ballers so be vigilant and also be careful not to become a victim of any bullying or abuse if you are homeless.

Scams and homeless everywhere.. definitely not a nice place to be

I LOVE THE NEW HAVEN GREEN... BUT I haTe going down town due to all the (K2)SMOKING AND ALL THE SMELLY PEOPLE asking for DOLLARS instead of CHANGE..

I saw friends that I had not seen you in a while I dont like to go to the green very much right now because of covid-19 but I was waiting for a bus to go get covid-19 test. It was nice to see some of my old friends out-and-about glad theyre healthy

Amazing architecture but I didnt feel comfortable walking around for too long. Inside the yale gates was comfortable but just outside were lots of homeless and loitering people on the pathways.

The Place looked great i love how the town green is near a subway and the cvs plus i love how close it is to the train station

Historic Downtown New Haven is beautiful. There is always some kind of festivity provided free of charge by the city, including free concerts every summer. Great place for local families and visitors alike.

The x-mas tree had fallen down due to the heavy wind storm we had a couple days before.

I enjoy the green. There are always people to watch, babies to see and this years puppies to meet. Its also a great place to read a book.

I lived up a 1/2 from. The green for 5 years...is not a place to bring the kids unless a special event is happening that day...ant other time is homeless people sleeping on benches, urinating on the churches, (among other things) sad but true...

The food is always fresh

One of my favorite places to go to its nice and Serene you can watch the birds the squirrels the children and every once in awhile you get to see a hawk plus they have concerts in the gazebo during the summer.

The summer concerts on the green are great. Lisa Lisa was awesome.... she is 1 of my all time favorite idols. I love her!!!! What a great show. Morris Day was fantastic and even the Force MDs a few weeks prior....

To say our country is not diverse is unbelievable. Sitting on this bench and people watching is like a rotating exhibit at Disneyworld. All young, vibrant students - it was a privilege to observe their presence in this beautiful green park!

Flat fast race in new Haven with some friends (Dylan and Percy ) from work. A lot of spirit ( music along the way) and fun. Thank you volunteers

The New Haven Green is a beautiful place where lots of events happen! Located near Yale University and churches and so many of the buildings have beautiful architecture! Also, many great restaurants are right nearby and within walking distance from the green.

Had a great time with the mayor. She is a fighter.

Its a nice place to sit, relax, have your coffee and enjoy the weather. However, as with most big cities Im sure... always be aware of your surroundings. Most all locals will greet you with friendly, casual hellos or light conversation. Use caution when being singled out and approached with anything bordering enthusiasm, as that person probably has a hustle they use regularly on new faces, or worse case, the occasional demanding beggar who will turn on you for the crime of not having a cigarette or a dollar for the bus (most beggars are pleasant and move on from a no quickly, some even have some good jokes to lighten your mood!) Im not talking about them, mostly the hustlers really.

Beautiful green space that I visited for the winter festival. Well maintained and safe. Near lots of good food and the Yale campus.

No one bothers you its a great place to grab lunch at local restaurants and go eat it on the green or just go for a walk bus stops all around it the green

When I was younger it was a beautiful place however it is now changed because of the K2 and Other Drugs and Im controlling all the younger people in the world the New Haven green used to be a nice place to go sit down listen to music then time with your friends family have a little picnic just you and someone else used to be a special place to be but it changed a lot throughout the years it really needs to be cleaned up so it can become what it used to be when they had the New Haven Mall Macys in the Burger King in the mall back in those days downtown was beautiful not saying you cant get back to being that way because it can but its going to take a lot of effort from everyone included

We met with a family member here for lunch and a walk. Its safe, nice and beautiful. I would recommend it.

A relaxing green space in the middle of town. Walk around Yale Campus, shop, several delicious choices to eat in or return to The Green to nosh. From this site you will find buses to all parts of NH. No playground equipment but lots of space for a childs imagination to run wild....

Nice place. You do see some strange characters there. People from all walks of life
