One of the beautiful places in Connecticut.. if you want a calm and peaceful evening, visit this place. Had a wonderful time with my friends here!

So I didnt know this place had a $20 parking free, which is hefty but if you dont need to bring your car in its free to walk in. The park is large and has a few things to offer. Theres the lighthouse, the beach is pretty big, they have a small waterpark and a playground for children. I spent a few hours sitting on the rocks by the ocean where the view of the city isnt too far off. Overall its a nice place to spend the day by yourself or with friends and family.

I love this place in New Haven! We went in winter so it wasn’t crowded but definitely in summer is a MUST! There’s a picnic area, good to go with dogs and family, of course friends too! Thanks

$25 entrance, small park with limited parking, nice jungle gym for kids, simple no-thrills lighthouse, few picnic tables throughout. Looks like the carousel would be nice but currently closed due to covid. Calm water, lots of seaweed and seagulls. Nice short beach walk.

This was the 2nd year we drove through the Fantasy Of Lights. Entrance is 10 bucks, and my 2 year old daughter had a blast. Takes about 15 minutes to drive through.

Remote place. Nothing to do much. Good if you looking for a quiet outing.

This is a nice park. Spacious and pretty views, with lots of room for picnics, walking or bigger groups. The beach is alright. I love bringing my bearded dragon here to chomp at some grass while I relax & read a book.

Great park on eastern edge of New Haven. The lighthouse and a carousel are the highlights. Wonderful bird watching spot, very popular during migrations.

Its a great place for family time and a picnic. There is a great space with tables to sit and enjoy the beautiful view to the sea. You can also find a nice playground for kids to play safely even though the beach is near by it very difficult for a small kid to reach it with out being on notice. The beach place is great nice and sandy. I took my daughters there and they love it. Its a park where you can can dogs but they are not allowed at the beach area. Great parking lots spaces and there is even a fishing area. Totally recommend it for great family time.

Great walking around the rocks and beach area

Pretty location, seemed to offer a lot. Its off season so hard to tell what its like when people are active. Seemed to need some repairs.

Pretty park with a lot of green space, while we were there we saw a bunch of bird watchers looking for hawks. Pretty cool group.

Beautiful view. Splash pad. Nice spot for cook out and sand. I would never enter the water cause its polluted, but nice to look at. Bathroom, changing room very stinky but its been around for years ! Little stand for packaged ice cream. Dont remember if there was food ? Wouldnt take it that far !

Beach with interesting rock outcrops as well as big stretches of sand. Big BBQ area, trees that are easy to climb and a large, nice play structure.

A great spot with a nice combination of paved (or graveled) paths and natural, rocky beaches and paths. The lighthouse is a bit underwhelming, but the park is large and beautiful. It has lots of park benches and tables that are perfect for picnics. Across the bay you can see new haven and in the distance you can see Long Island. Definitely worth a visit!

Beach is nice, family compatible. Water Park for the kiddos. Available grills or you can bring your own. Dog friendly. It will be nice if it had like an ice cream parlor and a sea food place.

Best place on earth, I love going cause I dont feel like am in ct, there is a $25 fee to get in if your a non resident of new Haven but tbh its worth it I think, I think dogs are allowed but just be respectful and bring a dog bag, just crazy beautiful, park closes at sunset, but worth it to spend the day there.

Went on Sunday June 21, 2020 and my family and I had a great day. Wasnt overly packed at all. Plenty of space between each family/group. The park and facilities as well as the beach area where all very clean. Always a staff riding around emptying trash cans and keeping up with the grounds and readily available to help visitors and or just to answer a question. Would most certainly go back and cant wait to do so. Everyone from the children to the adults enjoyed themselves. nice memories to add to the data bank. Time well spent with family and friends. Turned out to be a memorable fathers day! Pre bday weekend outing for my sons 6th bday. Highly recommend this place.

Very fun place to go for walks. There are parking lots in the park and street parking outside the gates. The park has a pretty massive jungle gym/childrens park right next to the lighthouse.

A great spot to relax and hang out with friends. There are BBQs near the beach. Lots of trees and great space for kids to run around. Parking can get expensive on the weekend (the only downside).

Its so beautiful place. I think sunset and sunrise are the best time to get amazing pictures. I came to see this place on winter time but summer time have to be more comfortable and good. They have cute park with BBQ and great beach.

Enjoyed my walk through the park.Beach is not dog friendly but park is OKAY,just so that everyone knows.Staff was friendly and park was clean.

We were on the way to rhode island, and stopped over here for lunch... Got lunch from home and this was a perfect place for a relaxed lunch.. Parking 25$ was too much, but overall we thought it was ok.. On one side of the park, it was deserted and had a small private beach :) very less people. On the other side of the park, near the light house, there were so many tents, and a lot of parties going on :) there was a small place with water for kids to play.. kids loved it overall.. good place to stop on for a couple of hours.

Glad I called... Park is currently ONLY OPEN TO CONNECTICUT RESIDENTS. They will check license plates and licenses. I was planning on a making a weekday trip from NY. Glad I called...Looks like a beautiful park...maybe I will a trip when all of this is over...

If you are from any state other than CT, dont bother. You will not get in. Unlike other states and parks who want their heritage shared with all and are willing to accept donations, reasonable fees, etc. to SUPPORT their historic sites, CT reserves their treasures like spoiled brats.

Really nice place to visit with access to the beach and spaces to stroll and rest. Heads up, only CT plated cars allowed to enter, even rentals.

Great beach! We are a bunch of Minnesotans, so we were thankful to be somewhere warm and go swimming. Surprised by how few people were around. 10/10 Very refreshing!

I visited this park with my friends. You can visit easily via bus or cab from downtown. There is beautiful light house and the beach was not crystal clear but it was comparatively cleaner beach. When I went there was a wedding going on side-by and it was beautiful.

A beautiful park and beach. The grounds are lovely with plenty of parking. The carousel is magnificent . It was a gorgeous day for the walk to End Alzheimers.

It mightve been great, but we were denied entry since we came from Massachusetts, two hours away.

Oddly enough Light House Park is one of my favorite places to go in every season besides summer. The less people the better.

The lighthouse is beautiful. Other than that I wasnt too impressed. 30$ entrance and alot of litter all over the park.

As far as beaches go it’s not pretty. There are a ton of shells that make it painful to walk and the water is very murky. But there’s a fun water fountain area that’s great for kids and the grass and wooded area is good for a picnic or a barbecue. And you can’t go in the lighthouse.

Found this after seeing sign for lighthouse on I95. It was a cool overcast day. Park had 5 people there. It was very picturesque, pretty views. I see you can have large functions/parties there as well. What was clear, the place was CLEAN ! Also the fresh air from the ocean was wonderful. Good for family fun for sure but maybe to just read a book too. A short visit but it’s definitely a well kept park.

Beautiful!! We loved the view of the water and the playground on the beach and the sand (which was a little rough, but still fun to walk in). The carousel was so much fun. It was built in the 1910s and is old and classic. We came here for a Yale School of Management picnic and were so pleased with the accommodations. Than k you, New Haven, for providing a beautiful place to step into the Atlantic Ocean and to fall in love with the Northeast!

Definitely a good chill spot for younger adults/familys, doesnt smell like long wharf and has a nice grill area set up for cookouts also have boat/jet ski off loading

Was not able to get in since the vehicle we were in did not have tags from that town (in my vehicle since it was bigger but my friends were local). Also, expensive entrance fee. Employee was rude and dismissive.

Cute park right on the harbor and Long Island sound. Pier for fishing, beach for swimming, a carousel, old lighthouse and a playground make this a must hit during the spring or summer. Bring some footwear - shells everywhere make for a hazardous walking area.

Not that great but good for evening walk along the shore...First, you have to pay for your car.The water is great and refreshing, Beach is clean. The water is filled to the brim with seaweed of all species, so not sure it is good for the swim or not. Park also has a cool splash park where kids can run under a flower or a cobra that squirts cold water. Small but a decent beach.

My first time there. It had ample parking, the sands and area was clean, not too crowded and it even has a carousel for kids of all ages! Designated smoking areas, youre allowed to BBQ on premises, consume personal alcoholic beverages and enjoy life. I even saw a lighthouse wedding! Definitely will be retuning with the whole family!

This is a beautiful park, I do recommend not to go to close to sunset. Someone tried to follow me home.

1847 lighthouse at this nice beachfront which is popular with swimmers fishers. $25 per car although they thought we were coming to a wedding and we didnt pay. Nice for a Sunday afternoon.

We drove 6 hours, 4 yr old, 8 yr old and 10 yr old, a dog, and my wife. We tried calling in advance to make sure it was open but the voicemail gave no info at all. After the long drive we come to find out you can still walk the park but the road for cars is closed and for non residents you can’t park on street or risk getting ticketed or towed. Well after working 12 hour days and being cooped in the house I was willing to take a chance with parking on the street. My kids and wife have NEVER seen a lighthouse so I was determined to make it happen even if it was for a few mins. This is when things took a turn for the worse. I parked in front of 240 lighthouse road, a few blocks from the entrance to the park. Lady ( Sandra A Esposito) pops out her head and tells me about parking restrictions and to move my car. Again, I am not blocking her driveway and am NOT on her property. I kindly tell her if I get a ticket that is on me. This is when Mrs Esposito shows her true colors and whips into a profanity laced rude remarks in front of my wife and 3 kids. Yes if you find yourself in my situation do not park in front of 240 Lighthouse Rd, small White House with a red car... this is the RUDEST person I have EVER MET and my kids were scared because Mrs Esposito did not hold back. I can’t believe she works at Yale for student services I would never want to be serviced by such a rude individual. Being kind to others is easy, if you see a family coming out of a car it’s probably not smart to engage an overprotective father. My wife was angry at me for engaging but I am not going to let a RUDE snotty individual ruin our mini vacation.

It would be nice if they could answer calls and their voicemail is full.

Fantasy of Lights at Lighthouse Point Park was fun, we really enjoyed the Christmas light show and the $10 plus $2 for glasses that makes everything look like reindeer was worth it. I recommend the glasses. Plus the money goes to charity. Ask for the clear 3D glasses. Theyre the ones that make reindeer all over.

Had my daughters birthday party there last summer and had a blast. The kids loved the water park. And the beach was extremely clean.

This beach is beautiful!! It gets crowded, but you wont have a problem finding space to sit and relax. The lighthouse is a great monument. Many people come here to relax, fish, and play in the sand.
